Hash Alert! 6:00 Tues, Jun 9th Hoop's - Fairmont   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1558 of 1641 |
Tracy and Dusty did an excellent job haring from Colasante's. Through the BN did
get raided by locals. Always a challenge! We then dined in fine enjoyment at
Colasante's where Coach Stewart followed us yet again. Maybe one of these times
he'll actually go run with us!

This week Dan will take the chalk and has promised not to take us up Field
Street right next to Hoop's. This is good news! Since Field Street seems to be
one of his favorites. The history books show where Dan went up Field Street
three times in one hash. Oh what a nightmare…. But good news! He has promised
not to go up it at all!!! But as you have figured out, we are going from Hoop's.
Directions: Hoops is on Locust Avenue before Fairmont State College.
Exit I79 @ downtown. Right off exit ramp. Left @ 1st light by
McDonalds. Right over bridge @ 3rd light into downtown. Left at 3rd
light onto Jefferson St. Straight through 2 lights and you're on
Locust Avenue. Go through 1st light and Hoops will be on your right
hand side of the road. It's at 505 Locust Ave.

June 19 to the 21st is Ted's Excellent Camping Adventure! We got all the details
from Ted:
I will be at the camp site about 10AM Friday June 19th. There is plenty of room
to spread out and a large spare community tent will be setup for those who are
without. The site is along the pristine Tygart river and a good drop off for
kayaks, canoes and inner tubes. There are some good swimming/fishing holes
there as well. You may wish to bring road or mountain bikes and of course your
running shoes. I will probably go for a road ride Saturday morning/early
afternoon. I hear several people will be running some 40K relay race and
rejoining us for the Saturday afternoon activities. The river float from camp to
the Colfax bridge will be starting around 4PM so bring your tubes. I will have
a couple of extra tubes if anyone is in need. Meals: I will have a grill on site
and be cooking burgers and dogs Friday night. Please bring any additional food
and drinks you would like. The site is primitive, so there is no refrigeration
or running water. Directions: From Morgantown take I79 South to exit 132. This
is the Whitehall exit South of Fairmont. Take US250 South 2.1miles and take a
left on Colfax Rd. (On 250 you will pass the Wal-Mart, so stock up on any
goodies you may want) Go 0.8 mile to the bottom of the hill and take a right.
This road runs past Poplar island on the left and at 1.1 miles you will turn
left through a gated drive to the campsite. There will be signs directing you to
good parking about 0.25 mile before the site if you do not have 4wd. The road
is much more passable than the last time we camped there (the huge hole in the
road is gone).I look forward to seeing you there.
Ted

See you on the trail,

ON - ON!!!
