Troy-Toy's Inaugural Hash 2/10/09   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1504 of 1640 |
Be that as it may, the TRoy-Boy-Toy Hash began with a curse, having
been postponed by some bonehead's idea that the previous hash should
be cancelled. To reiterate, the Hash is NEVER, repeat, NEVER
cancelled...the very definition of the Hash is that it goes on in ANY
weather...if some can't drive there, then the Hash will proceed with
those who can make it on foot. WE proved that at my Hash from
Kegler's in Jan. when I started with only 2 hounds
present...eventually 13 hardy hounds made it to my house, AND built a
snowman.

So the curse was decidedly upon the hash last night, and as I drove
down Darst, what did I espy but two sodden sods plowing up the hill.
I yelled out, "This had better not SUCK!" Some several minutes
later, I courageously led the pack up that same hill...had I not seen
the hares moments before, we almost certainly would have been done
before we had started. As a tip, in the rain, in the dark, one must
make vertical marks (On poles, stone walls, houses, cars, etc.)
rather than horizontally (like on the street). NOt only so, but one
must make MANY more marks than normal, as the pack will miss many of
them. Being overly tricky is also to be avoided, as hiding marks only
leads to mass confusion and a slow trail.

My suggestions nowithstanding, I must credit Troy and Matthias with
an interesting and fun trail. When we were at a loss, we simply
expanded the circle ever outward until we eventually found the true
trail. We succeeded in finding BOTH Beer Nears, one at ye olde Town
Hill, right next to my pal Gunnar's house. After some cold ones, we
proceeded toward town in a rather circuitous manner, winding through
the 'Lair, then down to Hodges Hall, where Matthias had us thwarted
with a confusing run up and down the stairs and on the elevator.
Points for originality, fer sure! We then did a swing through
downtown, then across the bridge to South park Exxon, where we were
treated to a 2nd BN at the home of Troy, where the fair Helen (real
name: Sharon) treated us to a fridge full of cold beer and Power
Bars. By then it was about 7:50, so the "faire mayden" (as Troy
called her...OK, I'm in a buying mood, so I'll buy that) handed me
the phone, and I asked Troy to give us a little hint as to the way
home to Rio. He told me the way to go home, and we took it. We
ended up being on trail for two hours, but that included two BNs. We
found Dave and HashKIng and Queen inside the restaurant, along with
the fiery and vivacious Heather, who had brought young squire Travis,
who babbled "HOORAY for OBAMA!!" repeatedly, much to the chagrine of
his less-than bemused parents. His Uncle Charlie then taught him
the "Barack Obama Song", and he giggled with glee....he does love his
old Uncle Charlie.

Not to take any credit for myself, but had it not been for Yours
Truly repeatedly risking life and limb to find the trail, we might be
out there still, searching in vain.

"Sh*it Hash!" to Troy, which in hashing parlance means "good job, you
wanker!"....and if you don't like hearing such hash "language",
perhaps you should take up some other more savory and mundane
pursuit, such as knitting or Zumba (which just happens to be MY
favorite spectator sport).

Beat THAT, BurrrrrrrrrrASS!!! You, you you...wummin.

Love and Naked Twister to All,

ANalGeeus

oN-ON!!!

Well done, Charlie. What you lacked in quality you made up for in quantity (not always the case, I'm sure). By the way, "canceled" has one "l", not two, and...
