Re: [WVHHH] Hash Alert! 6:00 Tues, Feb 10th Rio Grande- Morgantown

Angela's (who knew that that was her real name???) erudition continues to
astound...I likes a wummun who uses big words in almost the right way sometimes.
NOw if only we could get her to come down to Morgantown to take in the sights
here...I promise to do the write-up of Troys inaugural Haring! I just hope all
my leetle GIRLFRIENDS show up.

Fun! Ok, Angela sums up last week's hash that I pasted at the end
here. But in the mean time let's talk about this week's festivities.

Troy is going to lead us from Rio Grande in Morgantown this Tuesday.
Who knows what kind of checkpoints Troy has planned but him and
Mattius have been planning this out for a while now. They have some
grand ideas that should be a lot of fun. I'm wondering what sort of
surprises will be in store for us! Rio Grande is the Mexican
restaurant in the plaza across from Autozone, almost towards the end
before the Ford dealer.

And thanks to Angela for her summary:

Some wise person once said, "Don't do anything well. People will come
to expect it of you." Okay, maybe it wasn't someone wise. Maybe I
just made it up. I've wracked my brain trying to remember, and I'm
honestly at a loss. I'm also at a loss as to what to write about last
Tuesday's hash. Why? Because I can't remember much about it because I
was too busy thinking, "Holy cow, it's fracking cold out here!"
Seriously. I couldn't speak for the first mile because I was just too
cold. Had I known it was going to be that cold, I probably wouldn't
have shown up. Maybe I should have gotten out of my car before they
yelled "ON ON." At least one potential hound had the sense to test
the waters and thought better of it * Frank. Yes, he was there, but
after attempting a "warm up" on icy side streets, he wisely decided
to go home, or go get coffee. Either way, I think he had the right
idea.

The little bit I can recall about the run boils down to hills and
ice. I wanted to avoid both, but both were in abundance. Most of us
are familiar with Mark's uncanny ability to run us around in circles
and his affinity for double false whichy-ways, which on this night
were whichy-A's (thanks Kristi). He teased us by marking a trail
towards East Marion Park, but instead turned us around and took us
through a cemetery, as if we weren't already thinking about our own
mortality what with the cold and the ice. The beer near was short and
sweet (some of us didn't stop at all), as most of us feared frostbite
and/or hypothermia. After a few more loops around the neighborhoods
of East Fairmont, the hounds (or puppets, as the case may be) were
led back home and quickly departed for the warm confines of MiPueblo.
We were given a room to ourselves (I'm pretty sure the staff was
trying to keep us from scaring off the restaurant's other guests) and
eventually someone showed up to take our orders. Alcohol was in
abundance, and we were all treated to the comedic stylings of Ms.
Amanda Gates, who never fails to offend, I mean entertain.

So to those of you who showed up and ran, kudos. And to the rest of
you, see you on the trail next time (hopefully in less adverse
conditions).

ON ON!
BRRRRRR Ass

Charles, while I appreciate your recognition of my erudition, I have to wonder what insecurities led you to include "in almost the right way sometimes." Maybe...

If I may do so, I would like to include a disclaimer on Angela's behalf and that of female hashers - (perhaps females in general). In no way does the last...
