quite a few of the "successful" instructors i know personally,
have found it more equitable to teach from their homes or to provide
private lessons at the students home.
by offering the instruction at your residence...you are covered by
the home owner's insurance carried on your residence. whether you
teach in your basement, garage or in your yard, you are covered.
therefore my best suggestion would be to refer to your home owner
agent.
another option is general liability insurance, this is insurance up
to $100,000.00 which travels with you. very reasonably priced
between $200-$300/yr depending upon the state. i'm giving the range
for my home state of Illinois. this is the same type of insurance
that a
process server might be required to carry by his/her jurisdictional
government(county).
