Cool! For those of you who have not done the PDX before it is AWESOME! I was very apprehensive prior to last year but "JumboJimbo" Jim Hardesty talked me into going and it was a great time. Gives you a great opportunity to stretch out that daily driver a little bit and hone your skills as a driver. All you need is a mechanically sound car (per the rules) and a little common sense and you will have a great time!

Dave,
I would request that you express the Thanks of the Cincy Region for the support
of WOR workers and participants at our PDX and race this past weekend. In case
it isn't already being worked, I was going to see if we could share the PDX
participant list with you for your PDX. But I don't want to step on any toes.
Cheers,
Jerry

Hello! Sean Mullady, SOC07 driving events coordinator here.
THE TRACK EVENT AT WATERFORD HILLS <www.waterfordhills.com> IS A GO! AND WE'RE STILL TAKING DRIVERS! WHOO-HOO!
We still are and will accept online registrations @ $175- thru 8pm 22Aug (next Wednesday) at http://soc2007.eventbrite.com.
For you very very very last minute folks: If you still want to participate and it's after 8pm 23Aug (Wednesday), you MUST put $175 cold hard, crinkley cash (no jiggles) in my hand to participate BEFORE the 9AM driver's meeting. So, no excuses!
Non-SAAB cars welcome! Spectators, too!
Gary Moore of Dayton, OH has done a great job in pulling this event together to where we on the SOC07 committee approved the decision to move forward with it!
There tentatively will be 7 instructors and two SOC run groups (experienced and novice) with the instructors themselves making a third in return for sharing their experience and time.
Basic requirements are a safe car, M95 helmets or better, closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a valid license. Contact me or Gary <SPG900@mail.saabnet.com> for more info.
Loaner helmets will be available on a first come, first serve basis. I'll have a few balaclavas for helmet sharing but please bring your own balaclava or, preferred, helmet.
Awesome job Wayne! Thanks for taking the photos and sweating your
buns off to do it- it was hot! Ken

Subject: WMR PDX
Hi folks,
I am sending this email to some GLDiv RE's so we (WMR) can try to publicize an event at Grattan to you and your members. Could you please forwarding this to your Solo and Club Racing chairs as well so they are in the loop.
WMR has changed our traditional Labor Day double regional into a PDX. This is our first one and we're all on the learning curve. So any publicity we can get is OK with me. Anyway, on the saturday and sunday of Labor Day weekend (9/1, 9/2) we're holding a PDX at Grattan Raceway. This event is open to anyone not just SCCA members so you can mention this to co-workers, friends, etc. Its a non-competitive, instructional event where folks can drive their own cars on the track with instruction from SCCA licensed drivers who have years of experience on track. This is a safe environment (unlike an open track day) in which to learn proper driving technique and car control. In addition, we are happy to announce that the Dodge SRT folks are sponsoring the event and will be coming with some cars, test drivers, refreshments and swag. The details aren't final yet but we're told that they may be doing test drives of their cars.
We look forward to putting on a fantastic event and hope you and/or your regions' members can attend. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the phone numbers below (or bounce this email back) and I will respond ASAP.
Thanks for your time,

If you are anywhere near, this is a must see!
July 19, 2007
FORMULA ONE BROADCASTS CONTINUE AT STUDIO 35
(LIVE, MOVIE SCREEN PROJECTION OF SELECT 2007 RACES)
The popular Studio 35 movie theater ( 3055 Indianola Ave. , Columbus , OH ) introduced live telecasts of the world-famous Formula One auto racing series with its presentation of the 2007 Grand Prix of Monaco the last Sunday in May. The series continues with the Hungarian Grand Prix, broadcast larger-than-life Sunday, Aug. 5. The coverage begins with the pre-race show at 7:30 am. followed by F1s traditional and perilous standing start at 8 am. on the famous Hungaroring circuit.
It was the track on which Fernando Alonso in 2003 became the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix. Ironically, the race marks a crucial point at which Alonso, also the youngest and reigning World Champion, must check the progress of teammate Lewis Hamilton, the youngest driver ever to lead the championship.
The Formula One series was established just over 50 years ago, formalizing the tradition of Grand Prix racing now more than 100 years old. The British Grand Prix run at Silverstone, previously an airfield, was the site in 1950 of the first ever World Championship race, won by Giuseppe Farina in an Alfa Romeo.
F1 is said to compete with soccer for the title of the biggest sport in the world; some sources estimate as many as 500 million fans view each race. Run exclusively on challenging road courses by cars constantly refined with aerospace caliber technology, Formula One is truly the pinnacle of motor sport not to mention its most glamorous.
Admission for this special broadcast of the Hungarian Grand Prix is just $5. Breakfast items will be available and the bar will be open for the hardy. For more information, call (614) 261-1581 or go
online to www.studio35.com.

To REs, Webmasters, and Editors (Especially in and around the Detroit/Northern Ohio and Michigan areas),
This was just sent to me to request getting the word out on this stolen rig.
This is Hal Brown’s World Challenge rig and cars, pictures are attached. If you can get the word out ASAP maybe our network will be able to assist Hal in getting his team’s equipment back.
Thank you all for you response and on this. No need to reply to me.
Let’s see what we can do to help out our SCCA family members. Mr. Brown’s phone number is below for any information you may have that could be of help.
Thanks for the help on this. The police have been by and think that this is definitely a theft.
The truck is a 04-05 Silver Dodge Crew Cab Dually with VA plates. Cloth interior. No markings on the exterior.
The trailer is a white Haulmark 48 foot gooseneck. No markings on the exterior except for the required Pro labels with the car numbers and SCCA Pro racing on them.
The cars are 2 black and silver SRT 4s. They are the Sorted Performance World Challenge cars. They are owned by Hal Brown 540-449-1575.
