Subject: [WOR-Solo2] Tire Trailer for Sale - Make Offer!
All,
I listed the trailer here for a specific price, but didn't get much
interest. I'm now listing as "make me an offer." I will be out of town for
a long time and don't need to leave my wife with the burden of excess stuff
laying around.
Quick summary:
- 4' x 4' utility trailer, converted to tire trailer
- includes ball for drawbar
- includes Contico locking storage box
- includes spare tire
- setup to accept your 225 width tires right now
- can easily be modded to accept much larger tires
- links to pictures below
- email your offer to anglin@... (anglin at mc2racing dot com)
I purchased a 4 foot by 4 foot utility trailer from Harbor Freight a few
years ago and built it for use as a tire trailer. The purchase was
motivated by a car accident I was involved in where I realized how dangerous
loose objects inside the car can be. I wasn't hurt, but I decided I didn't
like the idea of flying air tanks and tires and toolboxes inside my car, in
the case that I got into an accident in my "racer" on the way to/from an
autocross.
The trailer is set up for four 225 width tires, which nest neatly between
the frame rails with my layout. I spent a substantial amount of time making
sure I had all the issues worked out with my tire mounting system, so the
system is solid and doesn't do any damage to the race tires while they are
firmly affixed to the trailer. With a reworked tire mounting system the
trailer could hold 4 or 8 tires of nearly unlimited width, when stacked
vertically. It all depends on the system you use to mount them.
While assembling the trailer, I ensured I did a quality job on the wiring.
The taillight mounting system has been modified to allow the trailer to be
propped up on its backside to allow storage while taking up minimum space.
Set up for 1-7/8 ths inch ball (which I will include) and includes safety
chains. This trailer uses 8 inch tires and includes a spare tire/wheel
assembly. It includes the Contico locking storage box. The box is capable
of lugging my jack, air tank, all necessary tools and spares, and a 1 gallon
can for spare fuel.
The trailer has been sitting outside for the last three years, meaning the
once red paint is now substantially faded. I used the trailer to haul
autocross equipment to an event on only two occasions. It performed well
both times. The additional load from towing the trailer is light enough
that I was able to tow it home with a failed turbocharger. The car didn't
miss a beat, considering the circumstances.
Here are the pictures:

I would like to get $200 for the whole setup, but my need to get rid of the
trailer is far more important that the exact price.
Drop me an email if you are interested (anglin@...). If you know
of others for whom this advertisement might be of value, please pass this
email along to them. This item is located in Huber Heights, OH, and is
pick-up only. I don't have the hitch anymore, so towing it would be
difficult.
- make an offer
- no reasonable offer refused
- you know you want it!
I need the trailer gone, and you need the trailer in your service for a darn
good price.
Thanks!

I went to Phase 1 & Phase 2 training through Evolution Performance
Driving School (http://www.autocross.com/evolution/) this past weekend
put on the St. Louis Region http://www.stlsolo.org/
Comments:
- Lots of seat time. 23 runs during Phase 1 on 2 variations of the
same course and another 23 runs during Phase 2 on 4 different version
of another course.
- 3 cars per group. Runs went fast. Good attention from the
instructors.
What did I take away from it:
Phase 1: Hand motion. Look ahead. Tell the car what you want it to
do nicely and early; Don't put yourself in the position of letting it
tell you what is is going to do. What to do if you if you are in that
situation.
Phase 2: Evision the course. What to look at when you are looking
ahead. Envision what you want the car to be doing at each point. Push
the car on your first run; learn the limits of that course that day and
key it down from there.
Had a great time even though the temp was a little cool. Only got a
little wet. Long drive back to Dayton from StL Monday night.

I went to Columbus today and ran in the Ohio Challenge put on by OVR at Cooper Stadium. There was not much of a challenge. Turnout from the other regions was dismal. Western Ohio was represented by about three cars! Very disappointing. That being said OVR dominated and won the challenge.
BTW it was drying for the first heat and then there was a steady rain for heats 2 and 3. It was a minute long course and very fast. You all missed a good time.

That’s like asking what the best
prescription is for a pair of glasses. The optimum alignment is different for every car.
The best idea is to visit a forum dedicated to the car you drive, and then ask what the best alignment specs are for a [year] [make] [model].
For example, if I drove a VW, I would probably visit www.vwvortex.com.

Does anybody know what
optimum alignment specs are for autocross?
Call Bill Braucksic (don't think this is spelled right, but it is close) he IS Performace Alignment. He does an awesome alignment, not necessarily cheap, but not too bad either.. It is WELL worth the money.. He has been doing race cars for years and is a racer himself.. His shop is located in Blue Ash (northern Cincinnati area), not too far off the bypass (275, I think) from I75. Last I knew his number is 513-489-8500.

Try talking to Shawn Hobbs at Gallagher Tire in downtown Dayton across from the
library.

Neohio Region, SCCA will host the Cleveland Alley Rally on Sunday, May 7, 2006. The Alley Rally is a scenic driving tour of some of Cleveland's most colorful back streets and alleyways, all in the guise of a low-key TSD rally. Stretch limos and full size Hummers need not apply.
The Alley Rally was first run in the early 1950's, and was an annual spring event on Cleveland Sport Car Club's competition calendar until 2004. It has always enjoyed a sort of cult folllowing, occasionally drawing fields of 75+ cars.
Entry information should be available soon on the Neohio Region, SCCA website (www.neohio-scca.org).
registration opens at 8:00 till 9:30. tech is from 8:00 to 9:45 drivers meeting at 10:00 and first car out by 10:20 clean up and trophies between 4-4;30
We usually start setup about 800 (can always use help!) and try to have the 1st car on the course between 10:00 and 1030.
