I own a small business (www.mc2racing.com) involved with the custom
manufacturing of components for the Merkur XR4Ti, along with re-selling
various product lines. Though most of my sales are naturally Merkur-related,
I have provided a variety of components to several WOR members, such as
custom suspension bushings, tires, wheels, springs, cold air intakes, and so
on. If you're interested in a quote for something, I can provide another
data point. My prices are usually low since I have a great "day" job.
I haven't done any wrenching on anyone's car since I became a daddy 16
months ago, but recently I have been interested in expanding my
manufacturing line to include components for other vehicles. I would be
particularly interested in producing components for the new Saturn Sky
(which nobody has yet, so a Pontiac Solstice should do). I also have
personal interest in the Ford Focus and Fusion. If anyone is interested in
having me design and manufacture some race-specific suspension bushings for
their vehicle, I'm all ears. I generally make bushings out of nylon or steel
(grease me!), but I have made some crazy stuff out of aluminum &
polyurethane as necessary, such as this differential mount:

I think The Wheel Source and Coletti Motorsports have supported the club
with advertising often - check the Rev Record for other options. As for me,
well, it's stupid for me to advertise Merkur-specific stuff to a
non-vehicle-specific club, so I usually help out by making sure Timing and
Scoring run perfectly at autocross events - at least until someone nails the
timing boxes. :-)

Subject: [WOR-Solo2] Businesses that support our club
A little while back, the attached message was posted
In general, I agree with this idea. When price is close, give it to
the local/involved person/business.
I am still new to autocross and this group. Heck, I have been in
Dayton for almost 5 years, and I still consider myself new around
here. I don't have a history with local businesses or a developed
network of family/friends to give suggestions on where to do business.
It is a new hassle everytime I have to undertake a new task.
I keep playing with the idea of getting new wheels and tires for my
Miata. My wife's SUV is getting pretty close to needing new tires. I
keep browsing the mail order catalogs I get with Miata goodies in them.
I am not sure if the group has a non-advertising policy like some I
belong to on Yahoo so I am sorry if I am rubbing feathers the wrong
way, but which local business are associated with the group?
As I start shopping for new rubber or someone to do specialty
wrenching, I would like to at least get quotes from other people who
share my interests and support the same activities I support.
Would it be possible for people to post associated vendors in the links
or database area? Just an idea....
Thanks for listening,
Andy Blumberg
