4/20 (this is a SUNDAY event as we'll be back to back with Solo since they are running Sat in the track's parking lot.)
We will be working on a Div/Nat event soon and possibly will schedule dates throughout the year! NTR has been impressed with the lack of dust and are open to letting us run even if they are running at the track!!!
Please note that the National Challenge event states it is at S&M, however that is going to change after I have secured the new playground.
Also PE5 is a 2-day. You HAVE to run both days for full points. If you run one day you only get half points. Something new and controversial!!!!
We start the season with the Spring Challenge at OVR/National Trails on March 9. Then on to S&M in May. We have to month of April off as we test for the Indy 500!!!! Just Kidding. S&M is not available in April so I will have to see what I can come up with.

There's one that I do enjoy reading when the newsstand has it, but I can't remember its name. It's geared toward collectors and restorers, though. (Plus one of the editors has an NSU Ro80)

And every other week they would test a POO-zhoh. I think it was Motorweek. All I remember is that it was from OWINGS MILLS, MARYLAND, 21117. Watched it religiously as a little kid... which either dates the show, or dates me, I can't tell which.

This event is the first in the Detroit Region RallyCross Championship sponsored by Team Illuminata Motorsport so it is perhaps appropriate that we chair this even too. We are hoping for a great turn out as per last year with plenty of snow to make things fun. The event is at Bob's Family Raceway again, in Clarksville, Michigan about half way between Lansing and Grand Rapids.
Last year was a blast, a winter blast!

Team Illuminata Motorsport would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Doug Harvey on winning a brand new set of Team Dynamics competition wheels in the Team Dynamics Challenge drawing held at the Detroit Region SCCA banquet last Saturday. Just to remind you, the Team Dynamics Challenge awarded competitors drawing entries for carrying decals and/or using Team Dynamics rims in Detroit Region RallyCross events during the 2007 season. The highest placed qualifying driver in each class received 1 drawing ticket for carrying decals and three for using Team Dynamics wheels.
Doug managed to win the wheels with only 2 tickets out of the 71 in the drawing while some people had as many as 16, going to prove you only have to be "in it to win".
Next season we are excited to report that the Team Dynamics Challenge will be extended to the Detroit Region Solo championship as well as the RallyCross. Details to follow.
You can see the entire range of Team Dynamics competition wheels here:

My previous exposure to the motoring press in the UK left me with the feeling that the journalists there are even more clueless about anything mechanical than they are here. It's as if technical knowledge is somehow beneath them, and they show their superiority to the Common Man by demonstrating their incredible ignorance at every opportunity.
Top Gear never failed to reinforce that observation.

Yeah it will be crap or so annoying you can't watch the good parts.
The American Stig will carry around 4 super big Gulps and factor the
available receptacles into the lap times.
Instead of the Lacetti they will have a Monte Carlo with NASCAR
stickers that will just go in a circle and instead of being based on
the fastest time the prize will be given to the person who can stand
the shriek of the howling under steering front end the longest all
over a music bed of really loud bad Joe Satriani-esque guitar music.
Who knows it might not suck but I am not holding my breath.

NBC has ordered a pilot for “Gear”, an American version of Top Gear, that will be officially announced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (January 19-27).
The pilot will be filmed at a secret location around Los Angeles equipped with a race track and hangar where the show will be filmed in front of a audience.
NBC reality chief Craig Plestis said the network already is getting numerous inquiries from car companies that had heard rumblings about a U.S. remake.
“This is a favorite of all automobile companies as it shows their cars in such a great light,” he said.
NBC reality chief Craig Plestis said he is a longtime fan of “Top Gear.”
“It all comes down to subject matter — it’s a cool show about cars,” he said. “It’s very compelling for us because we have a great platform and space on the network to have such a show.”
Among “Gear’s” popular segments that will be replicated in the U.S. are races where the hosts have to reach a destination using different modes of transportation, road tests, challenges like converting and refurbishing existing cars into anything from a stretch limo to an amphibian and celebrities racing a midsize car. (”American Idol’s” Simon Cowell holds the record for fastest lap time with a Chevrolet Lacetti.)
The series will premiere at 11 p.m. on March 4th before moving to its regular time period at 10 p.m. March 11th.

Thanks for all the work you put into this. I know such things can sometimes feel thankless, but I know that Rallycross, for me, takes the aggressive edge out of my everyday

I'm hoping that I continue to be able to compete next year. Bill's got another spawn due soon, and my work is consuming a lot of time. But if I can make it, I will be there. Even if I have to drive the daily driver.
Thanks again for everything, and look forward to seeing you guys in a couple of months. (And, I need to burn off some bad driving habits. Did 100+ the way to Lexington this morning).
