I'm a bad example because coming from California we're pretty easy going dudes that don't make threats unless we're going to follow through. I've had too many occasions where either I was hit or another rider was hit, or nearly missed and when I rode up to the offending driver to politely let them know that an activity occurred that they might have missed or been unaware of, I was met with immediate anger, profanity, yelling and threats. Coming from the city that started freeway biathlon as an officially sanctioned event I think they weren't ready for my response. I don't recommend this to anyone but throwing my bike aside, pulling them out of their vehicle and beating them senseless has proven pretty satisfying. I'm also pretty sure I left them with a clear understanding that cyclists have rights too. At least that's what I think they were whimpering to me.

Could you send the link to it?
I am biking to work every day and there is not one day when I do not have to deal with some angry idiots although I always respect the law. I started to file police reports against the worst of them. Bike are vehicles to the same extend as cars are, but this seems to be beyond the understanding of the average fat Joe in this country.

Ok gang, we have a situation.
Check out today's Record Review. Front page, one fatal bike accident,
one other "bad" accident. One looks like it could be cyclist error,
the other, motorist error without question. Both very sad either way.
The paper has editorial about need for safety and about a new commitee
formed to improve it.
Then there is the letter to the editor from Mr. Aquilino. He thinks
bikes should be ban from all town roads! Yikes.
We need to do two things: Please write to the paper and express your
opinions. Also, please don't give these people any fuel for there
fire. Be on your best behavior while riding in traffic and obey the laws.
With $4 gas prices, we should be looking to get more bikes ON the
road, not OFF.
Thanks,
George Grenier
