I'm doing this swim - http://nycswim.org/Event/Event.aspx?Event_ID=1901 in 4
weeks. It looks like a good quick one to get acclimated. I also aim to try and
get in the water at Oakland Beach (Rye NY) around the 1st weekend in may (will
be away next weekend).

Let's keep a dialog here and get some interest going.

A friend who has taken regular dips in the LI sound through the winter emailed
me that the water temp is currently at a balmy 48 degrees (give or take a
degree), so in two weeks, who knows.. it could be up to spa temps of 52!

-with a wetsuit, double swim cap (or neoprene) and maybe ear plugs, we should be
set...
