Congrats Josh. There are a bunch of us that are out here,
although only a smaller group actually gets together to train on a regular
basis together (Javier, Jackie, Eve, etc…). It’s a great group of people, very
supportive of each other and very interested in each other’s success.
During the winter most of us are doing base training but there
are still opportunities to ride. For example this Saturday, I’ll be riding down
into the city from Scarsdale and then running the little NYRR Holiday 4-miler
in Central Park before heading back up. There is also a new coach over at the
White Plains YMCA leading the masters swim classes if that is of interest to
you. On Sunday’s you can find a bunch of us over at Rockies starting from SHHS
anywhere from 7am to 8:30am based on your preference and schedule.
In short, Westchester is a great place to train for triathlon
(Screw Austin! ;-)
As for races, a fairly large group is going to be training for
and racing the Tupper Lake Half Iron and a few people like Javier will be doing
their first Ironman this season, GO JAVIER!!!!
Hope this helps

who's out there - so, who's doing what events next year? I'm doing my
first tri in April (lavaman).
