Re: [WCCTriathlon] Millwood A&P 56-Mile B-Ride on Saturday

Hillier ThanThou is hilly-about 5000 ft. of climbing, with significant portions at 14-19%, low gears recommended.  You can bike across Croton Dam-Arcady Rd. still had a barrier at the bottom of the hill.  You can cross the steel bridge from 129 as Hillier does at near the end.

Subject: [WCCTriathlon] Millwood A&P 56-Mile B-Ride on Saturday

In the Ride Database, there are four ride description and cue sheets from the Millwood A&P that all seem to be variations on the same 56-58 mile ride, including one that detours around the Croton Dam and Arcady Bridge at some point when they were closed.

Can anyone give us an indication if the bridges are still indeed closed and which cue sheet to use? I noticed there are two rides with the same name but different distances Hillier than Thou 56 and 58. There is also a Hilly as Hell Half. If anyone has done these rides, I'd love to get your feedback. Bruce and Eric, it looks like you are the two ride minor deities that posted these.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, yea, Jackie, Javier, I and a few others are planning on riding this on Saturday morning at 9:00am at a brisk B pace similar to last weekend. The more the merrier!

Bring your running shoes if you also want to do a short run afterwards.

Cheers,
-Adam

Tinker makes the rest of the hills on this ride (like Bryant Pond, and Whitehall) look tame.

This cue sheet has been lead 4 times and most recently on 9/24/2006

Max's goal was to make this ride so hilly that the riders cry uncle!

This ride does the infamous Tinker Hill. All the rest of the hills on this ride look flat after Tinker.

Great ride last weekend. What is the group's preference for this weekend's rides? I saw 40-milers posted for both Saturday and Sunday and I also saw a post...

The bridge over the top of the croton dam is open even though there are signs on the west side that say otherwise. _____ From: WCCTriathlon@yahoogroups.com...
