RE: [wccchataboutcycling] Climbs in Westchester?

Hi Larry:

Try the hill from Rt. 129, across the Croton River just down from the Croton Dam, up to the Danish House, then over to Teatown Road, and up to Rt. 134.

Also, try Bryant Pond Road up from Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam County. These hills will definitely take the stuffing outa ya.

If not try the long trip over Bear Mountain and down Seven Lakes Drive to Sloatsburg and back…

Sorry I don’t know exact road names, there are just too many to remember.

Regards,

Bob

Subject: [wccchataboutcycling] Climbs in Westchester?

Hi-

I am looking to do some hill training, and therefore am searching for long climbs in the Northern Westchester area (e.g, Croton, Ossining).  Ideally, > 1 mile in length, moderate grade (5-8%).  Any suggestions/directions greatly appreciated!

thanks,

Larry, Go a little further north to Putnam Valley. Look for Tinker Hill Road. Tom Nee can give you the specs....
