There are some great roads up in Putnam that the Westchester Cycle Club rides.  301, 9D, Peeksill Hollow are all part of some great rides we have done.  There are also lots of great back roads.  Some of the best cycling in the country is found in this area, right across the Bear Mtn Bridge is Harriman State Park which has some awesome riding in it. 

 

I hope that if you do move to the area you join the club and go on some rides and get to know the routes and you'll see how delightful it is!
