Mark,
Route 22 is a state road. You can complain to DOT regional office in
Poughkeepsie. It's good to complain. Once you are on record, they then have some
liability, I think, if the bad condition caused an accident.

OK.. so I'm a new kid on the block. This might sound like a really
dumb question but I need to ask it anyway. I've been cycling to/from
work, White Plains to Somers along Route 22. The condition of Route 22
between North White Plains and Armonk is appalling, I'd say dangerous
for cycling. I'm sure many of you cycle it regularly and have watched
it wear out, break up etc. and probably have not realised how bad its
become. For me, this is probably the worse stretch of road I've ever
ridden on, including South Africa.
So, my question is, Who do you contact? Is route 22 a Town/City/State
responsibility? Is it cool for cyclists to complain about the road
condition or will this make us even more unwelcome users??
