Dear Tommie,
regarding locks, as far as I understand, there's no real "ULTIMATE" great lock. when it comes to anti theft, more is better, so I use 2 decent locks instead of just one. that would simply slows down the bike thief, sometimes enough to leave my bike alone. Kriptonite just recalled and reissued their U-locks. I'm using one of the new ones. it seems to be good, but who knows...my other lock is a cheapie imitation of kriptonite..

Subject: Bike Purchase

Hello, I am newbie to cycling or should I say and "Old Jack" as the
expression so goes...I have visited numerous bike shops with pricing
that has brought me to reality as far as the world of cycling is
concerned. I would like to purchase a HYBRID and I have looked at the
TREK 7100, Giant "cypress" and the Fuji Palisade. I also have to look
at a friends cannondale "Adventure 600". Can anyone direct me as to a
shop with reasonable pricing and good service. I visited 2 shops in the
area and to my surprise they were selling above MSRP. I am amazed to
see that in the cycling industry, however be things as they may...Your
help would be appreciated. Also because I will be riding to the train
station a GREAT LOCK would also be a helpful suggestion. Peace and
thank you in advance...Tee

Hey Tee... Try County Cycle Center on McLean Ave. in Yonkers... I've
purchased 2 new Giant bikes there in the past year below MSRP.
