Thanks for the quick response. We are planning a meeting in Charlottesville on December 21, a Sunday. If your schedule allows, we would love to have you attend. The group will be me, John Carr, Mike Herron, Terry Whelan, Cary Kennedy and Bill Brownley. Let me know if the possibility exists and I will get you more information as to when and where. Probably a couple of hours in the afternoon plus a beer.
Mike

Mike
I’m looking forward to Lauderdale, Saranac and Aspen. I’m also in for the Shield match in Washington. Look forward to an exciting year with the one and only Virginia cardinals!
Cheers

Hello all,
Please take a few minutes to respond to this email, mdpuopolo@aol.com , as to your level of interest in the following events for 2009. I hope to hear back from everyone in the next week so that we can make commitments with regard to tournament fees, hotels, etc.
2008 has been a good year and we welcomed many new players and friends. I hope to hear back from everyone as soon as possible. Let me know whether you are yes, no, or maybe to each of these venues.
San Diego - February 12, 13 is a Thursday/Friday before the IRB Sevens in Petco Park. This is a growing tournament with nice facilities and a Masters (0ver 35) bracket. We have several Cardi nals already committed to the trip and if we have enough interest to enter a side we will. The website for more information is www.sdirugby.com <http://www.sdirugby.com/ > <http://www.sdirugby.com <http://www.sdirugby.com/ > > .
Fort Lauderdale - We are the defending Champions of the 45, 50, and 55+ brackets. We have a good nucleus for a 35+ side that can win the tournament. The dates are Saturday/Sunday - February 28/March 1. If we have sufficient interest, then we will organize the Cardinal banquet for that Sunday night in Lauderdale.
Savannah - Mid-March in Savannah. We won the Masters (35+) bracket in 2007 and didn't attend last year. This year, if we have sufficient interest we will enter both a mixed 35+ side, meaning that the side will include 45's and 50's as well. This year based upon the response we may enter a side in the social division and or the Masters division.
Saranac - First weekend in August (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Depending upon the level of interest, we will enter a 50+ side and a social side. The social side would be a mix of 35's and 45's.
Aspen - Third week in September. Same as Lauderdale, we hope to return to Aspen with 35's, 45's, 50's and 55's.
Ambassador Shield Cup - November in DC. Nice venue that we expect to=2 0be invited back for in 2009. This is a one match event that is part of a fundraiser for Hyde School's Rugby program in DC. We will get more details next summer.
As always, you are welcome to play on whichever sides you are old enough to qualify for. We will organize rosters of interested players and communicate a forecast of playing time. When you respond with interest in an event, please indicate that you are most interested in whichever particular side that is for you, for instance 45+.
Thanks and I will hope to get this information organized and back to everyone before Christmas.
