VintageAmateurWrestling Photo Annex 3 is the latest Yahoo group to celebrate the "good old days" of amateur wrestling, with the focus on photos and features on BIG TEN college wrestling before 1980.

At this Yahoo group, you'll see college wrestling was done on cotton mats, sometimes in roped-off rings... when the wrestlers didn't wear singlets, but wore trunks and tights, shirts optional (as seen here in this mid 1950s pic, with Michigan State's Bob Hoke of the Big Ten having his arm raised in victory over Oklahoma State's Dick Beattie)... and the rules even allowed full Nelsons and other now-prohibited holds.
