Our accomodation is booked for Armidale! We got a great deal - half
price for everyone, so $35 per night (2 nights). And I still havn't
been able to get a quote on a bus - but I'll keep you posted.
Also - we have 50 boxes of cadbury freddos arriving on Thursday :)
So right there for you is just one of the many money solutions that
will pop up! Illawarra will also be giving us some subsidy ...But
they havn't indicated just how much as yet.
Speaking of Illawarra and the Armidale trip - We can take a squad of
22 players, so far a solid 15 are down - so if you havn't confirmed
your interest yet, get on board :)!!!!
In saying that - we have a meeting with Steve Rosa next wednesday
before training (6pm). If you're coming to Armidale and can't make
it on Wednesday - you'll have to email me so I can take note and
give you the info another time.
Okies - don't forget early start to training tomorrow (6pm) and see
you all on monday at 6:30 (I think our oztag game is on at 8pm -
will confirm).
Hides.
Hi guys - Slight change of training time for wednesday for the forwards >
6pm!
Mark would like to do some much needed work on scrums.
(backs feel free to rock up at 6 aswell ;)
Just a note - I've got a smart rugby seminar on wednesday, and therefore
will only be at the grounds from 5:55 - 6:10, so if you need to chat or
anything, you'll have to come early to catch me.
Otherwise see you Monday!
And a reminder that the trial game is not this Saturday - but next! (the
12th)
Please use the poll on our site to indictate your availability or otherwise!
I strongly encourage EVERYONE to be there!
Hides.
(ps - I forgot to get money from people AGAIN...) If that effects you - I
will extend the early bird date for one more week (not sure if I can
actually do that that I will anyways!) So if you havn't paid me by next
monday, the early bird fee is no more!) After that it's full fee and you
ahve till the end of April to pay it - so still heaps of time.
(pps - if you're having money issues, my ears are open! And I can offer
solutions!)

Hi guys,
If required I can print you out an offical letter of selection to give to
your lecturer / boss to get out of uni classes / off work on Friday and/or
Monday before and after Armidale.
Just let me know if you need one coz I'm not printing out 30 to give to
everyone! The days you may be effected by are Fri 15th of April and Monday
18th of April (check if you have any exams on these days and tee up to do
them in advance!!!)
We are yet to set departure and arrival times - so it may not effect you,
but just keep in mind that it may (best to think you'll leaving friday
morning and arriving home monday afternoon) - just incase you will be! ;)
I'm also checking out how much it's going to cost to hire a coach (and
driver) for the weekend, and if affordable we're going to start raffling
next week to help cover the cost! I'll keep you posted, coz a bus trip
sounds like a barrel of fun to me ;)
(Gus - if you check your email that is - any chance of getting a deal
through Premier??)
Hides.

Hi guys,
I just used the team managers from all Sydney clubs as a focus group
to gain an informed decision on wether our tournament next year
should be 7s or 10s.
And only one club (West Harbour) believes it should be 7s. So it
looks as though we will be holding the "Valkyrie 10s" in 2006.
They also offered some comments about the timing of the tournament.
Orginally we proposed the weekend following the Kiama 7s. However,
Greg Lee very smartly pointed out that this clashes with another
major event being held in Sydney next weekend (Kiama 7s are
tomorrow) - so putting at the end of the month, will not only free
up the weekend, but also give clubs that little bit of extra time to
gather teams together.
It's all very exciting - can we win both unigames 10s tournaments
this year and back it up with a win at home next year...? I think
so ;)
Hides.
Hey grrlz,
a quick reminder that this Monday will be your last chance to get
the early bird discount on your player fees. So bring your cash that
night (or arrange a time to meet me before then).
Other than that (repeating myself like a broken record) we have till
our first round game (end of April) to be fully paid up. So those
who don't have the cash now don't stress - you do have plenty of
time :)
Also - please don't stress if you cannot afford these fees, please
speak to me about financial assistance.
(to see what the fees are please head to the files section of the
website and click on player fees).
And can I please make a request? Without sounding like too much of
whinger ...If you havn't voted in the poll re: the trial game PLEASE
do (and now!). I really don't create these polls because I have
nothing better to do! They tell me information that without there
could be issues. It's important, for obvious reasons, I know who's
available for the trial game - because if the day rolls around and
only 10 people turn up I'm going to buy a machine gun and kill you
all, and then kill myself. And I really don't wish to have to chase
people up individually, so I do it via poll... Is that unreasonable?
And it's no big deal if you can't come (just indicate so!), because
at least then I will know in advance and we can change the date if
we don't have the available numbers - simple :)
(in general you girls are really good with stuff, and are always
offering to help... But ultimatley the biggest help you can be is to
just do the little things I ask as they make my job so much less
stress!)
Thanks girls,
See you on Monday :)
Heidi.

Thanks!
The Southern Districts girls had a whinge about playing us at the
Longhorns tournament on Friday 11...
So we agreed to play them on the Saturday instead. So please note
the following date time and venue:
Saturday 12th March
2pm KO (arrive at 12:45)
@ home (Vikings)
I am going to construct a poll - please indicate either way if you
can or cannot make this game (it's vital you respond on the poll -
so we know if we'll have enough numbers... Or ideally too many!)
Please write down the date and time in your diaries and keep it
free - we need to whip some whinging SD ass!!!
...And please head straight to the poll...

Hey Abs... don't be such a goon!!! You know we all love ya heaps and
would be dissapointed if you stopped seeing us all (when time
permits!)!!! You've been a great friend to everyone on the team...
and not one person would hold it against you!! I hope everything
works out for the best for you and that we see you around soon!!
Love, Dory xo
P.S. I need a new shimmy buddy now!!! It won't be the same without
ya though! xo
just wanted to say that we all love you heaps, and that you're an awesome friend to us all. I can totally understand your reasons for not playing this year, so please don't feel bad or think that we'll hold it against you. You're loads of fun and just generally an awesome chick!!!
Good luck with everything and hope to see you round soon!
I'm sorry can't make it on monday night we have a birthday family dinner. I promise I'll do the run anyway with myself (trust me I need to got to fit into a dress for a wedding which is in two weeks). Anyways catch up with everyone on wednesday.

Abby,
I was going to send you a personal email - but thought that everyone can
hear what I have to say as I'm quite sure they're thinking exactly what I
am...
It seems as though you think we all hate or have been saying bad things
about you behind your back... And will be "angry" at you if you try to talk
to us about what you said...
Abs, believe it or not - we're your friends ...for life - and ultimatley
don't really care about those things you seem to think we do. If you think
we don't want to talk to you, or don't want you to hang around us just
because you're not playing rugby with us - quite frankly you're mad!
Are we such large ogars to give you this impression? I hate to think why you
feel you can't hang out with us or talk to us anymore...?
Sure rugby has brought us together - but it will never be the reason it
divides us!!
Please don't ever think that "rugby" is the most important thing here - our
friendships are just as much a part of rugby as the sport is! I don't
understand why you have such an ill feeling, but hope that you stick around
and give us the chance to prove your theory wrong!
And just on Rob - it was he who choose his fate amongst the team, and that
has nothing to do with you.
Therefore Abs, you have no reason to think we dislike you in any way, or
never want to see again... Quite the contrary infact! And we all despiratly
hope to see you join us in one of our many adventures soon!!!
Hides.

To all my fellow rugby-ites,
I have an inkling most of you probably know what I am about to
say so here goes..
I won't be playing rugby this year. I don't know if this is
much of a shock for you all, but if you're interested in my
resoning, otherwise you can move on to whatever else you are
doing at the moment and i'll see you around.
Anyways, the number 1 reason for my disappearing act from the
rugby arena is $$. My financial status is non-existant at the
moment. Between moving out of home, uni fees and books, and
only having one job now instead of 2 my bank balance is
dwindling. I doubt i would ever be able to save up even 1/4 of
what we need for this fine year of rugby that awaits us. I
know we have fund-raisers and stuff but my timetable does
leave much room for activities like that. Which brings me to
my next point.
Time is already a scarce luxury of mine. My new uni timetable
involves 21 hours over 5 days a week. Oztag 2 nights, work 4
nights leaves one night and the weekend days free. Because of
this, I've had to prioritise a few things and sadly rugby has
had to take to the bench for a while. I know i won't be
playing tag after this comp is over and my course is pretty
full-on, and to get good results I'll need to put alot of time
aside for study. I didn't think it was fair that I should say,
"I'll play in the team," When my commitment isn't reall there.
I didn't think i should take a place in the team when somebody
else, much more keen and eager would be a better asset.
I have a feeling alot of you think that i'm doing this because
of Rob, and that i've ditched you guys for the "boyfriend".
That's soooooo not true. If we weren't at uni together i
wouldn't have and extra time for him either. I haven't been
around alot lately mainly because I didn't know how to tell
you guys what i've managed to fit into this whopper of an
email. I'll still be around if you want me to be around. Sorry
for letting you down. Hope you all kick some Newcastle butt
this year.
Love you all heaps,
Abs

Hello chickadees,
just a reminder that if you pay your players fees before the end of
this month you only pay $125
Catch me at oztag, training or phone me to arrange payment.
Please don't leave it till the last day of the month as I need to
pass the money on before that date.
Also, money by no means HAS to be paid before the end of the month -
it does however have to be paid by our first game (April 23)
And please don't hesitate to ask about finacial assistance if
required.
Ciao

I met John Eales today!!!! It was awesome, i had a work conference and he
was our guest speaker! I went up to him after and got his autograph and i
was like i play rugby (i bet he hasnt heard that before!) and he was like
really, who for? and i was like well for southern districts last year and
for wollongong this year, but not yet coz i had a knee reconstruction.... i
was a bit nervous. He is an awesome speaker and very nice and i recommend
you all pay the $1,000 per hour to hear him speak!
anyways, thats my cool story for the year and im gonna be telling it to
evrybody, so get ready!
Hello all,
we r currently in negotiations with southern districts about a trail game,
however they are too loserish and suck and say that they cant get down for a
friday nite game coz they all have work commitments...stoopid heads!!! I
told them we can have it at any time that nite that would suit them, so i
should hear back from them soon in regards to that. otherwise we have to
find a new team to play. any ideas???
