A great thing about hashing is that it is done in so many
places, conditions, climates that each and every hash is a new experience. This
Sunday, right in our backyard, the Ventura County Hash House Harriers are
putting on a Hash in beautiful downtown Ojai. In contrast to the partying
throngs we are going to experience for our Bastard Solstice Hash, the Sunday
Hash in Ojai is just going to be pure hashing in a truly beautiful and tranquil
location.
The hare for the day is Banana Peel, a long time hasher
and just one of the coolest people you could meet. She is serving up a
Father’s Day trail to honor Roc Doc, a father of VCH3 that recently found
the shiggy in the sky. The trail promises to be stroller friendly and warm. The
location, hare, reason for trail - everything points to this being a great hash
that you should not miss.
Banana and many of the Ventura County Hashers have always
supported us Bastards up here with there presence, lets go return the favor.
Next months VCH3 hash could end up in kraprooM so let’s get down there
while the gettins good.
Speak up if you can make it and we will try to arrange a
carpool down. Note that their Hash starts at 2:00 PM, not 3:00.
*Chumash Indians were the early inhabitants of the valley that lies
east of Ventura. They called it Ojai, which means "Valley of the
Moon." Hashing can be educational also.
There is a slight correction to my earlier post. Blinded thoughtless
by the warm thoughts of one of my favorite hashers in the world, I misspelled
her name. DOH! I should have written Banana Appeal,
not Banana Peel. Hopefully she sees the apology first.
Anyway, it is going to be a great weekend of sun, fun, and
hashing.

An H3SoB kindly told me that I blew Banana’s name
that it should have been “Banana Appeal”. Correction made.
Now I have received a message that that one is wrong as
well - “it's a compound hashname dude....BanannAppeal.”
I hope that fixes that for now. But just in case, show up in Ojai this
Saturday to see how she spells her name on her necklace.
I also corrected my there/their brain fart in the original
message.

Should be beautiful. 2 p.m. 101 to 33, go 13 miles north to Ojai. When you come to a signal with Vons on your left, veer right and park in the Park n Ride lot. Cross the street and LFH behind the deserted white gas station on the corner of Del Norte Ave and Ojai Ave (aka Hwy 150)

Mark your calendars for the next Ventura H3 hash on 2nd August. It's a good time for a picnic and some trails in Thousand Oaks. Note early start at 2.00 pm.
