True enough.
But is it plausible that the low frequency of the runs may actually
prevent the VCH3 kennel from ever reaching the critical mass required to
get 15-20 people showing up for any given run?
As an extreme example, if VCH3 only ran once per year then the
membership attrition rate would far exceed the ability for new boots to
experience hashing and the membership would decline. However, if VCH3
ran every day (impossible) then the odds of getting a new boot to come
on a run go way up and the retention rate would far exceed the attrition
rate, and the kennel would grow.
Therefore, somewhere between the impossible (1 day) and the easily
achievable (1 year) must be the perfect frequency required (given
appropriate resources) to build and sustain the kennel's membership.
If once per month is the perfect number then VCH3 is on-on. If it is
more often, then will just going forth and multiplying (while certainly
fun) have the desired effect if not coupled with the frequency of runs
required to make it sustainable?
