First off, good luck to those of you who will be TT'ing this weekend.
Robert, Tom, anyone else?
Secondly, here's the second set of photos from the Boston Globe,
though not as good as the first set that Gerry sent out earlier:

Lastly, don't forget the Club Love Ride tomorrow morning, at 8am at the
Duck Pond. The Dam Loop.

No, porking is something else. Anyway, how do keep those things lit?

I'll throw in a few bucks as a "corking" charge. If I smoked a pork butt, I guess it would be a "porking" charge.
Hmm, I don't think I want to touch that remark....

Frank, ACA is charging a couple of dollars extra for the sandwiches to cover the cost of the pavilion. If we do briskit instead, I guess we could just kick in a few dollars to ACA to pay our share. Let me "chew" on that until tommorrow. ;-)

Well, I was going to say that you didn't answer my question, but now I see that you did.
You didn't answered the question implied by my statement, though. You gonna eat samwhich, or brisket?
I'd do an interval workout, but keep it short. Taper calls for total workload this week to be about half that of a regular week.

I'm wussin' out tonight; I blasted my legs for my last "intense exercise" test this morning. Glad it's the last one:) Did (6) 4 minute intervals--2 at 80%, 2 at 90%, and 2 at 100%. I was forced against my will to do the 100 percenters back to back. Definitely NOT FUN!
Have a great ride!

Vi not a chicken?
That question, and many others, will be answered at the newly revived Duck Pond tonight. Wheels down at 5:30pm.
Robert, at this point I don't think any significant conditioning improvement can be had, so 30 minute light spin today and Thursday, with a warmup and two or three 2 minute intense efforts on Friday is what the stuff I've read would suggest. Undertrained and rested is better than undertrained and tired.

Tapering is the best part of racing!
I would taper the week before the race.
And since I am racing on August 10th, I'll be tapering next week.

Hey, new guy here! Just moved in last month and joined in hopes of being inspired to ride like the wind! More like riding INTO the wind! We are going to miss the picnic as we are driving 3000 miles over a three week period...mayhaps I can borrow a bike along the way.
I've only met a couple of members on the Music City Sunday AM ride a few weeks ago...look forward to riding much more when we get back. Eat some brisket for me! Cheers, Coach Rick

I dont post very often here but I recently returned from my annual
vacation in Holland and Belgium. I always set aside 3-4 days for some
cycling and this year was no different. If there is any interest I
would be happy to post some pictures I took along the way and give a
more detailed description of where I went. These trips each year are my
version of the Tour de France.
