Keynote Speaker: Dr. Eric
Heiden
"A Perspective on Long-Term Athlete
Development"
Through
his personal journey as an Olympian in Speedskating and as a
competitor in cycling to his career as an orthopedic surgeon,
Dr. Heiden provides a unique perspective on Long-Term Athlete
Development.
|
Utah Sport for Life is a new way of looking at the way
we develop athletes. The Sports Summit is designed to
introduce a proven underlying model of Long Term Athlete Development
(LTAD) and allow presenters and facilitators of breakout sessions to
highlight the benefits it has. The way we look at and promote the
teaching of physical activity has powerful implications on our
population. Attendees to this conference will undoubtedly be
invigorated and encouraged to rethink the way we are developing
participants in programs.
Utah
Sport for Life presents an opportunity for
organizations to collaborate and partner on shared interests. Our
goals are simple: to create physical literacy in all Utah children
an to improve the health of Utahns through long-term participation in
sports.
