I received this email through table tennis and it's about lesser
sports being funded for 2012.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hi
I am one of the GB Women Volleyball players and I am contacting you
following the recent funding decision for 2012.
All of the sports for which funding has not been finalised are in
the same position and all of us are now in danger of not being able
to pursue our dreams - to compete and possibly medal in London 2012.
All the sacrifice and the hard work put in by the athletes, coaches,
administrators and support staff could all have been for nothing,
and the dedication shown by us all may end up being ignored.
A petition has been submitted and approved on the 10 Downing Street
website. It is a generic petition so is relevant to all the sports
listed as "losers" following the funding announcement.
I believe we have the best chance of having an impact on the final
decision if all the sports pull together. At the end of the day we
are all fighting for the same thing – we want the government to
fulfil its promise to support our sports and to help us provide a
legacy for future generations.
Please click on the link below and sign to show your support. Please
also forward on the link to all your athletes, staff, friends and
family and ask them to do the same. The more signatures we get the
more notice the Government will take of the petition.
