I had a new idea for the format of events and was keen to get players thoughts.
1 Day Events would default to the Sundays and 2 Day Events could adopt this
format:
Saturdays:
Team Event
Teams of 4 (3 Men and 1 Lady) play in a team competition (Monrad Format)
Format - 11-up (like World Champs team event)
Individuals can enter "Team Wanted" Category if unable to make up a team.
Can have categories - A & B?
One Match each
1v1
2v2
3v3
LadyvLady
Add up all the points to get the winning team (every point counts!)
What could the eligibility of teams be? Counties / Clubs / Regions / Anything?
Should there be restrictions so Top 20 players can only play at "Number One" ?
Cost? £60 per team Pay in Advance, £80 Pay on the Day?
Sundays:
Singles Competitions - 21 up - Mens A,B,C,D & Ladies.
Aiming for 3 games a player, with a 4th round final (16 player Monrads….)
Disadvantage: Players only play 3 matches so would finish Joint 10th and only
1st and 2nd would finish their Monrad……………
Cost? £22.50 per player pay in advance, £25 Pay on the Day? (Same as this year)
(No License scheme - but entry includes free membership to the "ERA"
Thoughts?
