Dear Rackateers
Pls find attached updated British Rankings taking into account the recent
English & Scottish Opens, plus the East Anglian Open in Ipswich.
The Scottish Event is included in the British Rankings but not yet the World
Rankings.
The Ipswich event is in turn set for world ranking points next year as a
challenger event. For more info on challenge events, check out racketlon.com or
racketlon.net, where reports on the above events are also available.
If you have any feedback pls let us know.
What do you prefer? 21 up or 11 up? One day or two events? Are there any venues
near your area that could host a racketlon event? We are looking for more venues
in 2008!
The English Racketlon Association is due to be born shortly (we hope). Sport
England have to approve, which should be a formality and then Companies House
can process. A formal landmark in the sport's development as we play catch up
with the rest of Europe, most of which have structures in place, but perhaps not
our enthusiasm and depth in venues and players?
More info will follow next month including the 2008 British Tour & World Tour
Schedules. No further events are planned for 2007. When is the best time for a
break in the tour? Our English Open Tournament will again be in August as this
suits our excellent venue at Redbridge Sports Centre, so this should consolidate
the success of this year's event. Racketlon.Co.Uk is still a prominent item on
our radar, our aim is to have this in place, functional, with up to date content
asap. We are also working on what the key roles encompass once the "ERA" is
formed.
Cheers for Now
