The English Open this year has really taken off. More courts and the entry list
- http://racketlon.i2.ca/engl07/entries.php - is pointing towards more players
from many countries and many different standards! This gives us all a great
opportunity to watch first hand a racketlon take-off in the UK!
Please pay when you enter and if you haven't paid yet, but added your name to
the entry list, please pay as soon as possible, this will help us greatly with
the preperation of the tournament and aid your playing experience. Payment on
the day will inevitabely be an option, but this is more expensive. As usual,
payment on the day will incur a penalty so please pay online in advance. This
includes foreign players, we have received payment online from most European
countries and even Africa so no excuses!

Agency / Sponsorship Deal
We are proud to announce various sponsorship deals we have secured with Tees
Sports (a table tennis retailer), Talbot Badminton and UnSquashable (you guessed
it) Squash! We will be taking orders for these products at the English Open and
the crucial thing really is the benefit we will now be able to deliver to all of
our players and members. By acting as an agent for these companies we are able
to obtain their equipment at a significant cost saving. So good news for
players, some cheap equipment coming your way. In particular, we are keen to
focus on table tennis and are conscious of the fact that many racketlon players
do not own a good table tennis bat. Some players unfamiliar with the game may
own a shop bat, however buying a bat from a proper table tennis retailer means
spin enabled rubbers will allow you to play lots more shots and double your
skills and capability. Good news all round. As well as taking orders at
tournaments, this will also be available via the website once it
is ready.
Film Crew
As at The English Championships, we will be filming the event. We are looking to
focus on "stars" of the game and will be requesting players for interviews over
the weekend.
London Open This Weekend
The event looks very strong with many new players. Expect a new English face in
racketlon or even several to appear very high up the rankings. Reading some of
the profiles of the new players is frightening!
Steffan Morgan's Kings College school is all set to play host to a racketlon
feast. Steffan will be sending out details to competitors in due course.
August 12th At Redbridge Sports Centre - 10AM-12PM
For anyone local to the area, Redbridge (the centre where the English Open is)
are running a racketlon open day the week before the tournament on August 12th -
between 10AM and 12AM. Please email MattC@... - once racketlon takes
off at Redbridge, why not join this great local centre
Further UK Tournaments
As well as the tournaments mentioned above, we are all looking forward to great
events in September in Ipswich and Edinburgh, details are available on
www.racketlon.com and www.activeeurope.com
There is also a rumour of a further World Ranking Event on the first weekend in
December at last year's English Open venue in Dudley.........we won't committ to
this as this point, but the more enthusiastic players may want to hold this
date........................
