Interesting questions you raise there, I think racing is probably still
bigger in the U.S. Racing never has been No.1 here as it gets a lot of
competition from other sports.

I don't think it is declinining either. A lot of racecourses are now
family orientated particularly when racing takes place on a sunday.
Our most popular race (The grand National at Liverpool) still attracts huge
TV viewing figures and most of the population has a bet.
There is also a lot more racing on Tv now we have a Racing Channel which
shows non stop racing it even shows live racing from the US in the
evenings. Do you see any UK racing?.
One of my favourite horses is a US horse because I won a bit on it when it
won the world cup (Captain Steve for obvious reasons).
How good is the winner of this years Kentucky Derby we did not hear much of
it once the Godolphin/Frankie Dettori horse was withdrawn.
