The club does not need a senior black belt to lead all the classes.
Of course that would be ideal. But I actually know of many dojo
that have been run by brown belts who had more teaching skill than
some people who were nidan or sandan and had been doing Karate for
20+ years...I may be a better instructor than I was when I first
started teaching (to help out my first instructor) in 1984 as a
brown belt. But I was at least capable of keeping the dojo going
when the main instructor couldn't be there.

With the right attitude and the core knowledge of basics, the club
can not only survive, but thrive. Progress may be slow at times.
But I will come by to teach when I can - hopefully once or twice
each month - as I am sure Peck Sensei and others will try to do
as well.

We do not need to have an ellaborate/flashy demo. We just need to
get enough people interested to make sure there are enough names to
get the club officially registered. This will happen. We just need
to make the extra effort to be at the event on the 23rd and be at
least a little prepared.

You never know what might happen. There may be a student who
stops by the table and says "I just moved here and have a nidan
from another JKA dojo..."

Please report in with your likelihood of attending...

Does someone have a photo album already prepared? Maybe some
Shotokan books? Who is going to be responsible for putting
together a signup sheet? Flyers? Who will be in the
demonstrations? Please everyone come in your uniform, even
if you feel like you are not up to demonstrating. It does
make a difference.
