I will be there
In fact I am there every day
(I do my walking around the trail which goes around the outside of Driller Park)
Ron Shaffer told me Friday that he wanted to go and take Austin
(unless something comes up that keeps him from going)
He says that Austin is really big now. What is he 12-13 ??
Below Is an article in yesterdays Kilgore New Herald
I just wanted him to correct his statement... not put my name in the paper.
I had to go back and look through my picture albums to find waht year the
Wildcatters played there.

FIRST, a reminder that Wednesday an important event for both
the Kilgore sports community and the Kilgore Chamber of
Commerce - the return of professional baseball to Driller Park.
THE chamber, Alcoa and a host of businesses around town,
are sponsoring an exhibition game between the Shreveport
Sports and the Fort Worth Cats. The game will begin at
6 p.m.; tickets will be $5 at the gate, and kids under 12
will be admitted free (as will Kilgore Boys Baseball
Association players in uniform)
And if you don't
want to miss church, they've got you covered there, too.
The chaplain of the Cats, along with new First Baptist Church pastor
Eddie Hilburn, will host a prayer service and devotional at 5 p.m.
BY the way, it's been said that this is the first pro game at Driller since
the 1940's. Not true, according to reader Marvin Hillhouse.
MARVIN said the Tyler Wildcatters actually played the Alexandria Aces at
Driller in an exhibition contest in 1996. He should know - he was a member
of the Tyler Wildcatters' booster club.
