Having problems with message search?
'Below is Mike Costons Response to my questions to the Kilgore Chamber Of Commerce about the Ft. Worth Cats and Shreveport Sports. He didn't really answer my question but I get the idea the Chamber did initiate the discussions.

Marvin, The Ft. Worth Cats and I got together and they liked the idea of playing at Driller because of it's location, (half way between Ft. Worth and Shreveport) and the beauty of the park.
We feel that this is a great way to spark interest in this area for the league and perhaps entice
some to go to Ft. Worth or Shreveport to see a game.
The proceeds will go toward supporting the State Boys Little league Tournament we successfully bid on for this coming July.
We will also pay each of the teams expenses and 15% of our profit after our expenses.
As far as who to cheer for, how about cheering for the Dot Races, the Dizzy Bat racers, or many of the other games between innings we will have. We need sponsors for these and other things at the game.
We will sell tickets at $5.00 each and Kids in uniform will be free when accompanied by a
parent. We also have reserved box seats available for groups or companies wanting to reserve a great spot at the park.
I am in need of help getting this thing organized, run, and presented to the public. If any of your group is interested please let me know ASAP !
We would also like to recognize any former player from the minor leagues. If you have any in your group or know of any former players that might come, would you share this with me so I can recognize those at the game.
I have a list of players from the Lone Star League (Kilgore Drillers) that played in 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1950. If any of these are
living in this area we would especially like to recognize these players.
