their owner group and Tech are looking at affiliated baseball, not
INDY. They would share the new complex.
Abilene is already deep into CBL negotiations for '05 and we met lots
of folks during the Colts/Cats exhibitions who are excited about
Abilene getting baseball back. Just hope they build a new field and
don't play at Driggers (MCMurray College). Only holds 875 and that
won't do. Odessa is too close to Midland to survive. Same ownership
for hockey Jackalopes has the Rockhounds and I doubt he'd triple dip
his own pocket books but he could run out of town any competitor I
think. That pretty much leaves Tyler among the Texas top runners.
