Re: [TideUlt] Fields for night games

Joe,

Thanks for taking this initiative. I like the prospect, and I'd be willing to
pony up my share if you deem that field conditions are OK and terms for our
access/use acceptable.

No matter where we end up doing the pay-to-play thing, it might save lots of
emailing and uncertainties to designate one person as coordinator to make the
Go/Nogo call when weather, holidays, etc make turnout doubtful. Also, it might
work smoother to have that person act as treasurer, where we all pay a one-time
(whole-season) fee up front and the coordinator handles payment to the city for
GO days. For times when the coordinator might be out-of-town/whatever, they
could ask someone else to cover for them (email the Go/Nogo and pay the city),
with the coordinator reimbursing them later. Money remaining come spring (from
no-go days) will fund our Here-Comes-the-Sun Party at your house.

Thanks again,
Curtis

Hey Everyone,
Ok I checked into a field with lights in Norfolk and here is the deal.

We could start playing Nov 1 consistently at Lake Wood Park which in on Willow
Wood Ave in Norfolk. The field has lights and if we could start later in the
evening to reduce traffic issues with folks heading across the water. It is
close to the highway and also close for the folks in Norfolk. Also we could
start playing before Nov 1 if we wanted however we would need to plan around
football.

The cost is a little high but here is the deal it is $65/day. So if we played
20 nights (would take us until Aprilish time (with the holidays out) it would
cost $1,300. If we had 20 people to contribute it would only cost each person
$65 bucks total. About $3.25 each a game. If this is something we want to do
please let me know and we can also talk about it tonight at pickup. If we can
get the numbers for this I will go over and check out the field and sign us up.

Also this is only Norfolk we could try other cities and or universities.
Joe

Apparently we need at least 20 people to ante up $30 bucks to get this off the ground, so this year, be selfish, ignore all of your typical charities, like...
