Hi....
The Disney special was very good, it would of
been even better if they would of showed Oksana
a little more, but overall it was good. What I believe
to have been the best part was Oksana skating with
Illia Kullik to Beauty and the Beast. It was an amazing
performance, it was awesome!!!
I did record this program. I would be interested in
trading, if that works for you.

I haven't seen the winter tour-- it doesn't come to my city. But I do
have tickets for the summer tour. I've been hearing around the Net
that Oksana will be performing a new program. Has anyone heard what
this new program is?

[Jennifer Hallmark] I haven't heard anything on Oksana in so long, it's
depressing.

Hi all,

This is Jennifer (the listmom) wondering where everyone is. There are 13
members, I know Oksana is doing much now, but has anyone seen her on the winter
tour? Any recent interviews, comments on the choreography, her progress ...
whatever....

My fave program of hers is Arabian. What
about you guys??
[Jennifer Hallmark]
My favorite routine is Enigma with Swan Lake, You'll See, Color of Night and
Arabian next.

Personally, I liked her old choreographer better than her
new one. The programs that she did before seemed....more fun, I guess-- and
more versatile. She used to do serious ones (Enigma), artistic ones
(Arabian), and cute/funny ones (Ain't Nobody's Business). Now, I think that
many of her programs are the same, meaning that they all sort of convey the
same mood. I still think that she is a tremendous skater, but I just liked
her old programs better. Does anyone agree with me, or am I the only one??
[Jennifer Hallmark] I totally agree. Completely. And I do not like the phone
routine at all. Of course, I don't like Mariah Carey, but still the routine is
just silly. She needs to work with a new choreographer, maybe LeeAnn Miller.

Hi Oksana fans!

I didn't really have a formal introduction so I'll go ahead and tell you a
little about myself. My name is Bo and I'm female by the way :) Lots of
people can't tell by my nickname. I'm 23 going on 24 and I'm a huge skating
fan..Specifically Oksana. What I do for a living: I'm a college student
majoring in psychology and working part-time as an office clerk at a
government health agency. Right now I'm taking skating lessons too so who
knows..I might do a similar spin like Oksana! Hehehe.. Well, I enjoy watching
skating and hope to share news and thoughts with everyone. Bye!

I think Oksana skates just magically in all her routines!! But I have two
favorites that I just love watching over and over again.. The first one is
Enigma. I think she looks so entrancing and mystic..I also like the costume
she wears too. It enhances her skating and compliments her wonderful supple
dancer body. It's just perfect and when she lands her jumps it makes a great
combination like that first Rock and Roll show she did. My other favorite
Oksana routine is In the Closet by Michael Jackson! I didn't realize I liked
her older routines. Guess maybe when she first did this, her technical
skating was still sensational. But I think I just like routines where she gets
to show off her dancing talent.

Guess you could say I do think her older programs were more fun to watch!!!
Galina choreographed most of them.. It just brought out the best in her. She
still skates wonderfully like you mentioned. I think she should get back into
experimenting a little more. What do some people think about the new programs
she's been doing like, "My All" and the Elegy one? The first one is nice, but
I didn't like the phone prop too much. Her costume looks nice and I like the
emotion she conveys.. Oksana is a great emotional skater by the way. You
could see that in routines like, "You'll See" and "Color of Night." The music
for Elegy was okay but I thought in terms of her classical routines,
Meditation from Thais and Swan Lake is better. Oh, and that routine she does
with the long chiffon scarf, "Russian Romance" is entrancing. Anyway, I said
a mouthful! If Oksana can get her technical skills back, she will start
kicking butt again soon! No one can compare to her artistry skating in my
opinion. It's great to see at least she's working hard and back in shape
again.

TTYL!

Hello all...
I most definetely agree with you Stephanie. When
Oksana was with Galina her programs were absolutely
amazing!!! Oksana is an artist and Galina really brought
the best of her out. In her two programs this season I personally
do not like the extra posing, there are many times when she's
just standing doing nothing. I also do not think that these two
programs really do not show what she is capable of doing with
her truly gifted aristry. Galina really brought out her dancing
abilities, Oksana could dance to anything...whether it was being
a swan dancing to classical music, rock 'n roll, or arbian.
Any type of music she danced to, she did an awesome job
with, it would always be breathtaking. I remember thinking
that there was no type of music that Oksana could not skate
to. I really miss Galina's influence in Oksana's skating.

Hi! Glad to join this list. I have been busy so I haven't been able to post
much. Like Jennifer, I've been an Oksana fan since the '94 Olympics. She's
just the most amazing skater, dancer and entertainer ever. I hope to continue
seeing more of wonderful work. I'm glad that she is getting back into shape
and her hair is returning to her normal colors..It suits her best. I heard
there is a program coming on tomorrow - World Pro Champs so I will definitely
tape it! BTW, there have been a couple of Oksana programs I recently missed.
One was Good Morning America, and the other was the Today Show. If anyone has
a copy, I would like to trade with you with some Oksana tapes I have. I have
kept a list of everything..From Oksana on E! to the Oprah shows she's appeared
on. Well this is all. Hope to chat more about the lovely swan.

Hey, did anybody happen to catch Oksana's performance last night? I can't
remember what the competition was called, but I have seen her skate so much
better. And what was the deal with her music ending so soon? It looked like
she was right on with the music towards the end, but then it just stopped and
she still had another jump to do!!! Anyways, the second part is on tonight,
and I'm hoping that she will be able to pull herself out of last place!!
Can't wait to see it!! :)
     Stephanie :)

We have two new members, Bo and Meg.

Ladies welcome aboard.

And please, start a discussion. Talk about anything Oksana related. This is
forum. Any comment about her skating past and future, talk about her routines,
the Olympics, her future... anything.

My name is Jennifer Hallmark. I'm a 26 year old flight attendant (whose flying
A LOT lately). I've loved Oksana since the Olympics -- have almost everything
of her every on tape. My favorite routines are

"Sadeness"
"Swan Lake"
"You'll See"
"Color of Night" and
"Arabian"

This is something I do occassionally in my spare time. Make up little
descriptions of her routines.

The Chronology and Description of Oksana Baiul's
Skating Routines

   1. Shadows/Barcelona Nights
Sensual and exciting choreography paired with artistry and a showgirl's flair
mark this routine. With the flounce of white ruffle, green fire in doe eyes and
a radiant smile ready to light up the world, Oksana is sassy, sweet and sexy.
Her splendid flow weaves the intricate steps, spins and jumps into a dazzling
technical and artistic display.

   2. Swan Lake
This routine is ballet recreated on ice in a beautiful and joyous display of
artistry unparalleled. The black swan costume, all feathers and sequins,
re-inforces the ballet theme with the black-feathered headpiece supplying the
finishing touch. The program opens with the gentle glide and soft elegance of a
swan to slow, sweet strains of Tchaikovsky's classic ... midwy, the beat shifts
uptempo and so does Oksana, a brilliant, blinding smile lighting her face and
eyes. She flounces, flutters, leaps and playfully dances across the ice.
Breathtaking.

   3. Instrumental Broadway Medley
Her charisma and grace lift every spin, spiral, jump and flow across the ice to
the realm of art. Whether it be her haunting eyes set to "Somewhere" or the
mischievous glint lighting up "One" ... her sassy ode to the high life of
"Cabaret" or her sweet tribute to "My Favorite Things," she is wonderful. She
takes every note and creates magic.

   4. In The Closet
Oksana spins, shimmies and flirts across the ice in a sexy, sassy costume of
sparkling white, long white gloves flashing and slashing through the air. With
a glint in her eyes she flows across the ice, moonwalking, strutting, dancing
with amazing grace and rhythm. Completely fluid and incredibly beautiful.

* The Sign (COI 94 intro)
Borrowing her Olympic pink costume, Oksana struts across the ice in the 1994
Tour of Champions introduction and wows the crowd with dazzling smile, fresh
moves and playful grace.

   5. Swing the Mood (with Viktor Petrenko)
Skating side by side with Viktor Petrenko, their flow and rhythm may be a bit
off, but their enthusiam is a joy to watch in this fun rock n roll routine.

   6. Duende Del Amor
This is sensuality upon ice defined. Magnificent with intricate and exciting
choreography complemented by the scintillating yet tasteful ebony costume.
Every lush and seductive note of musis is coordinated to every spin, every
spiral step sequence and flow across the ice. There is not one beat, one play
of strings, one musical lilt wasted.

   7. Carnival of the Animals: The Swan
The Dying Swan has become a signature piece. Her artistry non-parallel, she
performs with a grace and eloquence transcending words. Her balletic style
expressed in exquisite movements, flows smoothly ... fingers rippling like
ribbons in the wind, arms soaring through the air. The tilt of her head, the
look in her eyes ... perfection. "Not an eyelash out of place."

   8. Paquita
Balletic and sweet, Oksana is as light and lovely as a feather. The joyous and
engaging choreography is wonderfully enhanced by her incredible artistry and
natural charisma. She is like this wisp of air and beauty floating and gliding
above the ice. A fairytale princess, magical and beautiful, come to life in
sparkling blue, a brilliant smile lights her face, making one believe in dreams
and all things good and sweet.

   9. Principles of Lust: Sadeness ... Enigma
Every gesture is perfection. A thread of mystery and yearning is suggested in
the subtle choreography and enhanced by the sheer chiffon panels of ebony
floating about her. She blends jumps and spins seamlessly, creating a soft,
sensual flow across the ice. Searching glances sear from her eyes, the gentle
curving and soaring of her arms whisper through the air. Throughout the program
the mood of the music seems to emanate from her graceful form, coming from
within her. Magnificent.

10. Swing the Mood (solo)
This delightful routine, complete with 50's rock n roll dance moves, is fun and
flamboyant. Her fluid flow and radiant smile make this former duet all her own.
Joyous, vivacious and utterly enchanting.

11. The Nutcracker Pas De Deux (with Brian Boitano)
Pure masculinity and feminity converge and connect upon the ice, melding two
into a perfect dance of one. Touching hands, tremulous smiles and locked eyes
create an atmosphere of romance and beauty. Set to one of the most famous and
beautiful classical pas de deux in music, Oksana Baiul as "Clara" and Brian
Boitano as her "Prince" are transcendent magic together.

12. La Isla Bonita
Spice and salsa expressed with undulating hips, twirling fingers and a
flirtatious come-hither smile establish a flamenco, flirty mood. The red and
black costume, resplendent with lace and silk, flounce and ruffle, brightens the
ice and a red rose in golden locks is a perfect, finishing touch.

* Baby, I Love Your Way (COI 95 intro)
She is fresh and innocent, lovely with a smile that captures the crowd in teh
1995 Tour of Champions introductory skate. The last upon the ice, she is the
quintessence of beauty and grace in the art of figure skating.

13. Russian Romance
A slow, romantic ballad floats through the arena, surrounding Oksana's
extraordinary skating style. The simple addition of a white scarf creates a
whisper-soft trail of beauty behind her, above her, drifting about her. Using
the chiffon fabric is spirals, spins and flow across the ice, the scarf becomes
an extension of her ... fluid, gentle, graceful, elegant and truly beautiful.

* My Heart Won't Lie {with Brian Boitano} (Skating Romance Intro)
They meet center stage upon the ice, Oksana in lacy white and Brian Boitano in
all black. Skating to the strains of a love song, they smile at one another,
touching hands, turning and jumping in time.

14. La Sonambula {A Pas de Deux with Brian Boitano}
A wonderful recreation of "The Sleepwalker" tale with fluid and romantic
choreography. The costumes are magnificent, fitting the roles of 18th century
suitor and sleep-walking girl perfectly. This is passionate, precise, lyrical
and beautifully rendered by Oksana Baiul and Brian Boitano who skate with the
ease and rhythm of two born to flow together across the ice.

* Midnight Confessions (Skating Romance Finale)
The 60's rock and roll beat pumps through the air, as Oksana twirls and whirls,
smile and beguiles in lacy white and pale aqua chiffon.

15. The Feeling Begins ... Arabian
Mesmerizing in its originality, this routine is a work of genius. Her every
gesture creates a mood, the power of sexuality implicit in her gyrations and in
the intricate choreography. Every spin, spiral, hand gesture, step sequence,
jump, even the tilt of her heead, are timed precisely to every exotic and
striring note of music. This is a routine that only Oksana could do.
Everything is exquisite, unique and quite simply amazing. Her costume is
magnificent, fitting perfectly the role of a harem princess right down to the
regal turban crowning her glory.

16. Meditation from "Thais"
Flowing like a waterfall, Oksana is liquid perfection. The expression in her
eyes, the flow of her arms, the beauty, the quality of her skating is amazing to
behold. Simple, balletic choreography skated to Massenet's classic becomes a
creation of exquisite ballet upon the ice, performed by an artist of the highest
caliber.

17. You'll See
An emotional and poignant tribute in memory to Sergei Grinkov, as well as a
theological declaration to God. Working with past choreography, slightly
modified, Oksana creates one of the most moving routines ever performed upon the
ice. With this performance, she expressed the loss and pain that many were
feeling at Sergei's death.

18. Chopin's Waltz in C-Sharp Minor, Op.64, No.2
A classical mixture of ballet and skating measured to the lilting sounds of
harp and strings, Oksana brigns one of Chopin's timeless waltzes to life in
satin and chiffon. She is an angelic queen of the ice, smiling and graceful ...
a lovely vision of beauty and elegance.

19. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
In vibrant scarlet with glittering sequins, Oksana is radiant in this
ballet-inspired routine. She becomes the quintessential Sugar Plum Fairy,
incandescent, graceful, beautiful ... a ballerina transferred from the stage
onto the ice.

20. Ain't Nobody's Business
This is sassy and sexy, filled with girlish fun and womanly innuendo. Scoping
the arena with fiery eyes and an impish grin, she is lighthearted, yet risque
... Oksana the schoolgirl, fulfilling male fantasy while poking fun at it at the
same time.

21. Crazy
Oksana has devastating sex appeal to spare in scintillating black, an upswept
do, and scarlet red lips in this sexy and audacious routine. Making use of
every note, every rise and fall of the music, she turns up, turns on and heats
up the ice. Choreography quickens and softens to fit the shifting tempos.
Whether falling to her knees and tempted the judges, or smiling seductively and
tempting the crowd, she is hot, she is control, she is the queen of the ice ...
Supreme, magnificent, spellbinding.

22. Ave Maria
An otherworldly and haunting performance ... trembling fingers extending from
slender hands reaching towards God, unshed tears held in check, barely, and such
fluidity of motion at to appear as to be gliding upon, floating above the ice.
Dressed in the black of mourning, skating to simple, yet elegant choreography,
this is an expression of faith in and acceptance of God. Breathtaking.

* Macarena (COI 96 Intro(
She steps out onto the ice, looks to the right, looks to the left. Her whole
attitude announces, "Here I am!" Thus begins Oksana's 30 seconds of fabulous
all-star skating to the latest dance craze, "Macarena" in the 1996 Tour of
Champions introduction. In a dazzling costume of sparkling silver with long
fringe, she is simply magnificent.

23. The Color of Night
Impassioned with emotion and simmering intensity, Oksana becomes the pleading
lover of the song. With beautiful, compelling choreography that makes use of
every note and lyric, she speeds across the ice, pouring heart and soul into
every movement. She is a tempest of devotion and passion, a storyteller playing
out her tale upon the sheet of ice.

24. Wild World
The Jamaican-flavored beat is well-served by reflective choreography that makes
use of every lilt and cadence of music. A gentle, introspective air flows from
Oksana, her poignant smile and the pensive look in her eyes create a bittersweet
image of a young woman struggling to find her path ... and perhaps, Oksana, at
this point in time, is finding some likeness within her own life.

25. Evergreen
Streisand's classic translates beautifully to the ice in this lyrical and
lovely program. Dressed in black velvet, beneath a dark sky, lit in a pale pool
of light, Oksana flows across the ice, spinning and weaving a spell with grace
and flexibility, her arms flowing like gentle waves, her fingers trailing
through the air, her eyes shining, reflecting the words of love floating about
her.

26. The Flower
Oksana is a blossom in shades of emerald and russet emerging from the death of
Winter, represented by a dark evergreen scarf with hints of ivory and ebony.
Skating to Beethoven, she leaps and flows across the ice, a new bud delighted
with the joy of life. In the final moments, she discards the scarf of Winter
and welcomes the onset of Spring, a bit fearful, but glowing with the radiance
of rebirth.
"I do not gaze at Scully." Mulder, The X-Files -- "The Rain King" (of course
inferring that SHE gazes at him!)

Obviously I haven't done her latest routines, but I will soon.

Technical program --

Oksana skated first, except for two footing her lutz, it was pretty
good, nice 3 sal, 3 toe, 2 axel. Don't know the music, but it is the
same program she has skated this season. (28.3)

Being first, she got the lowest scores -- but if she had been last, she probably
would have gotten higher. Oh well.

Oksana - Skated her telephone number (maybe - "thinking of you"). 2 sal,
2 toe, 2 ax. Never even attempted to do a triple. Also did not come out
at warm up for the artistic program at all.
57 57 56 56 57 56 56 = 28.2

It's a sucky number anyway. I'm sorry. I don't like it. But I love the
outfit. Wish she would do the massive attack number again -- I adored that one!!

We now have 6 members on this list (and hopefully it will grow!!)

Donna,
Bri-Anne
Tracy
Michael
Jennifer -- you can call her Jen (she's a sweetheart)
and me, Jennifer (the list mom)

All of you welcome aboard and let's get this list going.

Some Oksana news -- not the greatest. She dropped out of the Japan Open and
after being Chacked in the World Pro televised event and after what happened at
the World Pros, I'm beginning to worry that maybe she put too much pressure on
herself. Hopefully, it's a minor thing. If anyone has any info on this, please
share. I want to think of the best for Oksana.

Hi Bri,

We haven't talked about anything, I'm a big fan of Oksana's but even more I'm
a fan of a male skater and I spend all my time on his list -- I was thinking
on this list I would listen and contribute once in awhile - but so far we
haven't talked about anything.

Hi Jennifer,

I am very busy with my Elvis page and list, but I love Oksana and will do my
best to participate.

Just about everything Oksana does is a favorite with me. I love All that
Jazz, the Arabian, Swan Lake, her Olympic routines, Michael Jackson song, off
the top of my head. I saw bits of her new program on Oprah last week and
loved it, can't wait to see that too.

Hello, (my lone member)

List your five favorite Oksana routines.

Donna, this is just to get the ball rolling until we get more members. Which
I'm sure we will.
