SECOND SET OF SMACKDOWN SPOILERS FROM ALBANY, NY AND MORE LIVE NOTES INCLUDING KANE VS. UNDERTAKER
By Eric Sturrock on 2010-09-01 11:14:22
Times Union Center in Albany,NY.

Doors opened at 7pm. Arena was about 75% of the bottom was field, the upper decks were empty. The guy who usual collects signs was moving people around to put them on the TV side. I sat directly across from the cameras.

At 7:30pm the Wrestlemania video played, then Tony Chimel told everybody we are going to have Superstars, Smackdown. & NXT Live.

Dark Match
1.       John Morrison vs. Tyler Reks. Ref Aaron Mahoney. Ok match went about 6 minutes. Reks got offense early on. Some of Reks’s moves were weak looking. Reks has a new theme song then he had last year. Morrison won with the star-ship pain.

Matt Striker & Todd Grisham came out to the Superstars them e. We got a WWE fact and The announcers talked to the camera.

1.       Kofi Kingston vs. Chavo Guerrero. Ref Mike Chioda. Match went almost 15 minutes, a great back & forth match with some near falls After the first minute of the match Chavo sold a leg injury and Kingston worked on the leg.. Chavo got in a lot of moves he has not used on TV in awhile including the 3 amigos. After Chavo hit the 3 amigos, he pointed to the sky and went for a frog splash but Kingston caught him but Chavo shoved him off, Chavo went for the frog splash again but Kingston kicked him in the head and coverd him for the win. Kingston stood on the top rope posing as the WWE copyright `logo went on the screen (meaning it’s the main event)

The WWE crew ran down to the ring, bring out 4 large bunches of white balloons. red, white, & green streams on the 4 corners of the ropes, they had two circular table with bottles of champagne with gl asses on them. And a donkey piñata with a Rey Mysterio mask on the donkey’s face. Chimel told everyone that Smackdown would be starting next. Del Rio’s announcer and 5 butlers standing.

Smackdown’s pyro went off. Chimel inside the ring introduced Del Rio’s ring announcer. Alberto Del Rio came out to stage side in a black Mercedes. Del Rio talked about how he got rid of Rey from the WWE. Alberto said Rey is very much like the donkey in the ring. Alberto took a stick and killed the piñata with one swing. He talked about how Rey fell apart just like that and how Rey was nothing. Alberto was toasting himself when Christian came out. Christian said he did not like him doing that to his friend. Alberto went to say who he was but Christian cut him off. “I know who you are! You are JBL! John Bradshaw Layfield.” Alberto said no. Christian said “No wait, I know it your Enrique Ingelias and you came out with a hit song little while ago.” Christian sang a line from the song. The crowd laughed and Alberto said how we all think Christian is funny don’t we. Alberto calls Christian something in Spanish and Christian says oh that’s what these are and trys one of the snacks he has on a table. Christian spits it out on a turnbuckle. Christian said how he wanted to fight him right here right now. Alberto took off his jacket and told the ring announcer and butlers to leave. Alberto then jumped out of the ring and walked ½ up the stage. He said not now but he will remember this and pay him back. Drew McIntyre came running in from the crowd and layed out Christian. Alberto smiled and laughed on the stage and came back to the ring. Drew threw Christian outside and then back in the ring. Alberto poured champagne on Christian. (Went to commercial) Alberto left and Drew stayed in ring, with Christian laying on the outside as WWE crew ran down and took away all the stuff from the ring. Commercial for John Cena’s movie.

1.       Drew McIntyre vs. Christian. Ref John Cone. Match went about 7 minutes. Drew controlled most of the match. But Christian gained offence towards the end and reversed Drew’s move into a small package for the win. Christian left the ring right after, and Drew fumed in the ring at his lose. Commercial for WWE Kids Magazine and WWE Live Event cups sold at every live event.

TV came back with the screen promoting WWE.com

2.       Kelly Kelly vs. Michelle McCool with Layla (at commentary). Ref Aaron Mahoney. Match was about 3 minutes, Punches on the ground at start. In the end McCool won with the Faithbreaker.

Screen showed Kane with a major announcement later tonight. Another Wrestlemania video played as the WWE crew changed ring mats.

3.       Chris Masters came down to the ring with his music. They must of came back from commercial, and Chimel announced Masters. Vickie Guerrero came out on the stage and told everybody to calm down. She then introduced Dolph Ziggler. Shortest match of the night around 2 minutes. Masters tried the Masterlock but could not get it locked Ziggler won with the Zig Zag. Ref Charles Robinson.

Big Show is seen walking backstage on screen. SD! Went to commercial and we got a WWE in Iraq video.

4.       Big Show vs. CM Punk & Luke Gallows with Joey Mercury. Ref Charles Robinson. Match went about 10 minutes. Big Show was sporting a new due rag on his head.  Show took out Mercury outside by squeezing his arm and Mercury fell down and either stayed their or left. In the end Big Show hit a move he has not done in awhile , where he picked Gallows up for like a powerbomb but intead threw him over his head then into a colossal clutch to make Luke submit. After Show left. Punk hit Luke with the GTS. Luke was helped to the back by two refs and was holding his nose.

Commercial for how big WWE is and how its all over the world, how superstars appear on all these shows, blah blah blah. Crowd cheer Obama quickly then booed quickly and booed Bush. The loudest boos were when they showed the Rated PG logo a few times in video. As this long video aired, WWE crew set up the VIP Lounge.

The VIP Lounge was set up with a Sooner varsity jacket and a #92 Swagger jersey, it had about 8 trophies in the ring (I thought Big Show broke every single one of his trophies two months ago?). Jack Swagger came out with Mr. Swagger (looked like in commercial). Mr. Swagger was in a wheelchair with a neck brace on. Swagger said how his dad means so much for him and showed video clips of Kane attacking him. Swagger asked his Dad if there is anything he wants as he will do anything for him. He wants to see some pushups. Jack does pushups and Mr. Swagger counts but does not count each push up just counted (which was hysterical) by the time he got to counting to 50, MVP came on out and said how Swagger got to hos t the VIP Lounge but he's in control of it so its over. MVP throws Swagger’s trophies out of the ring, as well as the chair and table. MVP went after Jack but Jack used his dad in the wheelchair as a shield moving his dad in front of MVP every time he came after him. Swagger tipped the chair forward and pushed his Dad into MVP and MVP hit the Play of the Day on Mr. Swagger. Swagger watched from outside the ring and then ran away. Swagger then did Ballin' over Mr. Swagger and hit a elbow then stood over Swagger’s dad.

5.       Matt Hardy vs. Cody Rhodes. Ref John Cone. Rhodes is sporting a new jacket which has a mirror on the back. Cody came down to the ring laughing on the mic at how Hardy Is dressed and how his beard is not even fully grown in. He made fun of Hardy’s weight and asked if this way really Matt Hardy, and how its not the TLC, or Tag Team, or Version 1 Matt Hardy. Crowd was dead for this. Went about 4-5 minutes. Cody won with Cross Rhodes, Matt got in little offense.

WWE Crew sets up a mat or carpeting on the top of the stage, and puts Kane’s pyro on the 4 corners.

Kane’s pyro on stage goes off and Kane is on the screen. Kane is talking about Taker and how he has his powers, and showed old video from Monday. A Casket led by druids come down to the ring. Kane get sout of it with a mic laughing and laughing. He talks more about how he has Taker’s powers from his Big Brother. And how they were called the Brothers of Destruction but does not need his Big Brother . Undertaker comes down to the ring. He goes after Kane but the gong plays and lights go out and you can (from a live view) see Kane run up the ramp and leave. The lights come back on and Kane is gone and Taker checks the casket. Kane comes on laughing saying hes stronger then his Big Brother now. Kane laughs and the pyro on the ringposts go off to end Smackdown. Taker leaves and Chimel says Kane/Taker will fight later tonight. The show ended at 9:57pm. The WWE Crew runs down to the ring with refs and starts ripping apart the ring. Taking off the ring apron and changing the ring ropes. Chimel introduces Striker & Valance.

As the NXT Video package played they finally finished getting the ring ready. Don’t know if it was shown on NXT but Kingston, Kaval and McGuillicuty took out Miz and Riley after the start of their match. After Riley was eliminated, when the lights were down, Cody Rhodes came down and talked with Kaval. Throughout NXT their was a man in aqua blue shirt on stage talking to the Pros and cameramen. When Riley talked the cameraman made motions for him to speed it up and talk to him. John Cena’s movie commercial played for a 4th time and another John Cena with troops video. A Wrestlemania video played. During the NXT match during a commercial break, Cole & Matthews were laughing at having a good time with each other. Striker & Grisham just did their gig, Grisham looked upset to be their. Striker watched very closy at his monitor during some of the matchs. When the NXT 3 rookies videos played the Pros watched, with the really tall girl was shown, McCool & Layla reacted scared and made funny faces. Josh Matthews hosted the sign cam. Layla talked with the fans a l ot and waved to them. After the NXt2 beatdown on Kaval, Miz left first then after the WWE Stars left the ring they left except for Striker, Rhodes, McCool, & Layla who stayed at ringside. It seems the NXT2 guys keep going as Watson hit a move after the NXT2 recap video was already playing.

Right after NXT, Chimel introduced the dark match.

1. Kane vs. Undertaker for World Title. The match was less then 1 minute long. They hit each other with punches went behind announce table an Kane knocked Taker down and got back in ring at 8 to win by count out, Kane & Taker fought more after with Kane throwing Taker back in ring Taker reversing chokeslam into his own chokeslam to end show.

Nice show, the arena was very hot! Chimel the whole night used his notes as a fan, and LayCool used their titles to fan themselves on stage.

By James Shannon – j_pats@...

They kicked off the show with a video package on the Undertaker and Kane feud. They then hyped up Kane having a major announcement tonight before Alberto Del Rio was introduced.  He drove in then stepped out wearing an amazingly white suit. They then announced that Rey has a fractured wrist from Del Rio’s attack last week.

There were butlers with balloons, champagne and a piñata (a donkey wearing a Mysterio mask) in the ring. He quickly threw to footage of his attack on Rey and explained the celebration was to honour his removal of Rey. He said Mysterio was just like the piñata, then smashed it and said Rey was nothing but a broken donkey. Just the head was hanging now with the mask still on which looked awesome. He made a toast to himself about being handsome, powerful and rich when Christian’s music hit.

Christian wanted to introduce himself to Del Rio, then when Alberto was about to do the same Christian called him JBL which was a good line. Christian said he wasn’t out here to tell jokes but to tell him he wasn’t impressed by Del Rio injuring an already injured Mysterio. Then Christian called him a jackass. Del Rio said Christian must want to end up in a hospital like Rey. Christian said he already has a match tonight but he’d fight him right then and there. Del Rio shooed his help out of the ring and they got face to face before Del Rio got a big smile and disengaged. He said there’d be another place and another time where Christian would pay for this.

Del Rio was halfway up the ramp when Drew McIntyre took him out from behind. After sending Christian out of the ring Alberto poured a glass of champagne on him. Drew was Christian’s opponent for tonight and he continued the attack during an adbreak. Christian sold his ribs but still got in the ring for the start of the match, even with the ref asking if he should.

Match Number One: Christian Vs. Drew McIntyre.

Drew immediately worked the body which included a pretty good bear hug. Christian caught him with a boot to the chin when Drew came off the ropes. He then hit his pendulum kick but was caught off the second rope into a backbreaker. Christian rolled to the outside and tripped Drew up onto the announcer’s desk. This had both men selling their backs. After hitting a gut buster off the shoulders, Christian got a rollup for the pin. An interesting start to the show, less paint by numbers than normal.

Winner: Christian, Pinfall.

Match Number Two: Kelly Kelly Vs. Michelle McCool w/ Layla.

They replayed the angle from Raw where LayCool challenged Melina to unify the titles and agreeing to a lumberman match. Note being Kelly was one of the Divas who came out to back up Melina.

McCool and Kelly were both in two piece costumes with very close shades of blue. When they were wrestling you couldn’t tell one blonde haired blue clad diva from another. Layla was on commentary and they had the ring mics turned way down which was good because there was a lot of screaming going on. Finish was Kelly going for some kind of rana which McCool turned into the Faith Breaker for the pin. Not much of a match at all.

Winner: Michelle McCool, Pinfall.

They played a recap on the trip to China. Then in the back Hornswoggle was having nodes stuck to his head. Teddy came in and asked the psychologist what was going on. He said they’d tried everything to get Hornswoggle to speak English and nothing worked. So now he wanted to try shock therapy. Swoggle didn’t want this but Teddy said it would be for his own good. He shocked him then shocked him harder. Long asked him to stop but he wanted to turn it to full power. Swoggle put the pads onto the doc’s head and turned it on full blast before he and Teddy left him there being electrocuted. Smoke came from his chest. Yup.

Chris Masters was in the ring when Vickie came out onto the ramp. She introduced Dolph who was wearing the IC title. They showed how Vickie stopped Dolph getting in the ring last week, making him be counted out and keeping his title.

Match Number Three: Dolph Ziggler (c) w/ Vickie Vs. Chris Masters.

Masters pressed Dolph very high over his head before Dolph went to work on the neck. Masters tried to get the Masterlock so Dolph tried to run up the turnbuckle to roll out of it, it ended poorly when he didn’t so much float over Masters as land as heavily as he could on him. He got up and hit the ZigZag for the pinfall. Not pretty, looked like the spot out of the corner would have really hurt Masters, then Dolph let go of him very early on the ZigZag which looked pretty bad.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler, Pinfall.

As Show came to the ring they showed his interaction with SES from Monday. Striker played dumb on who Show was impersonating.

Match Number Four: The Big Show Vs. CM Punk & Luke Gallows w/ Joseph, 2 on 1.

Punk and Gallows had to tag. Punk and Show actually started by doing Anderson and Sonnen. Show threw a few jabs, Punk threw a leg kick that was caught so he turned and somersaulted away. Fantastic. Gallows then came in to be thrown around.

The crowd sounded dead here. It’s possible they weren’t mic’d well the whole night, though there was a distant sounding CM Punk chant so maybe they just drowned them out in editing. Either way, it made this match come off like nothing was happening for quite a while. SES finally took over when Punk played possum outside and dodged a charging Big Show who threw himself into the steps.

Show grabbed Gallows inside the ring for the chokeslam but threw him into the ropes to knock Punk off the apron. He then went to hit a powerbomb but when he had him up he did a back bump throwing Gallows off (think Kane in the WCW invasion time, when he and Taker had their powerbomb off) then put Gallows in a camel like clutch for the submission victory.

Winner: The Big Show, Submission.

Punk was furious as he watched Show walk up the ramp. When Show left he turned around and gave Gallows the GTS which actually got a bit of a pop. He then yelled again and still looked pissed.

We then had the MVP VIP’s lounge hosted by Swagger who was also in a white suit (though not purely white like Del Rios, but still you’d expect this not to happen). The ring was cluttered with Swagger paraphernalia which included his dad who was sitting in a neck brace. Swagger said his dad was his VIP. He gave his dad the mic and asked what he wanted the audience was here. His dad just wanted to say how proud he was. He asked Jack to do some pushups for him there like he did at nine when he broke the state record or some such. Swagger had an awesome look on his face while doing them, so happy. His dad counted two or three for every pushup he did but MVP came out when he was about to hit fifty.

MVP said this was supposed to be a party atmosphere but he instead has an old man. MVP started throwing everything out of the ring. Swagger tried to use his dad as a battering ram or shield. They played tug of war with him in his wheelchair before Snr. went flying. MVP sent Swagger out of the ring then hit ballin’ on his dad.

Matt Hardy limped down to the ring to wait for Cody. Dashing came out with a mic and said Hardy clearly hadn’t been paying attention to his grooming tips. Cody said Matt had been doing a Hardy amount of eating lately, even though Hardy looked better than usual. But yeah, another few fat jokes so here’s hoping Matt gets the hint that Mickie and Serena missed.

Match Number Five: Matt Hardy Vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes.

Striker said it wasn’t Matt’s fault he can’t get into a gym, because he’s given his body to injuries for the business. Hardy controlled for a long time before Cody hit a knee drop onto Hardy’s injured leg from the second rope, then immediately hit the Cross Rhodes for what was pretty much a nothing match.

Winner: Cody Rhodes, Pinfall.

Kane’s music played and you could hear him laughing but he didn’t come out. He was on the titantron. He said he would end the Undertaker when he defends his world title against him at Night of Champions. He said it would be the defining moment of his life. He said Taker was right when he accused him of having the deadly sin of envy, but it only serves to make him more powerful. He said he has longed after Taker’s powers more than he’ll ever know and after all these years they are now his.

Back in the arena the droids brought a casket through the smoke to the ring as Kane laughed. When they left the casket the camera started blurring and fizzled out and when the lid opened it went to black and white as Kane sat out of it laughing to Taker’s music. He wished he could see thelook on his brother’s face when he realises there’s nothing he can do to stop him. He talked about the Undertaker’s weakness and he again proved it Monday, so they cut to Taker’s fight with NXT. He said it was proof that he was the Phenom no more.

He said when their saga is over Taker will be no more, a memory known as Kane’s brother. He yelled into the camera saying there was nothing that can stop the Undertaker’s demise,

nothing to stop him. Taker’s gong hit and Kane had a big smile on his face. Taker slowly came down the ramp and once he entered the ring to attack the lights cut out and the gong hit. When they came back Kane had disappeared but Taker noticed the casket was now shut. He slowly went to check the casket but there was no one inside. Kane laughed from the titantron.

Kane said Taker might not have taught Kane everything Taker knows about evil, but he was wrong to assume he had anything left to learn. He started laughing again saying taker would be known as the brother Kane destroyed and had his pyro surround Taker in the ring to end the show.

9/4 WWE Smackdown in Binghamton, N.Y.: Kane vs. Big Show for the World Hvt. Championship, Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Chavo Guerrero

WWE Smackdown house show
Binghamton, N.Y.
Report by Dot Net reader Aaron Waymire

I just got back from the Smackdown house show in Binghamton, NY. Not one of the better attended shows that I've been to. I'd say maybe 2,500 or so there. Still, the crowd was good all night.

1. Christian defeated "Dashing" Cody Rhodes with the Killswitch. Cody got on the mic before the match and asked if we thought Christian was good looking. Of course, he thought he was much more handsome. Good match in that Rhodes hit the Alabama Slam but Christian kicked out before hitting his finisher to win.

After the match, Alberto Del Rio ran in and laid out Christian. He then got on the mic and said he should be the one who challenged Kane for the World title tonight. He was also upset that he had to settle for wrestling Chavo Guerrero instead.

2. Alberto Del Rio defeated Chavo Guerrero with a Rolling Cross Ar mbar. Chavo was the face for this match. He got in some good offense and even hit the Frog Splash. Del Rio had good heat, and his finisher looks pretty cool.

3. JTG defeated Tyler Reks with a Spinning Headlock Clothesline. I'm guessing not many people knew who Reks was. In fact, I had to look him up when I went home because I couldn't quite hear who Tony Chimel said. Not much to the match. Finish came out of nowhere.

4. Jack Swagger defeated Chris Masters in a "Ankle Lock vs. Master Lock Match" with an Ankle Lock. Masters has pretty much fallen off the face of the Earth. He tried to get that darn Master Lock on time and time again, but couldn't. Swagger reversed another attempt at it into an Ankle Lock for the win.

5. Matt Hardy and R Truth defeated CM Punk and Luke Gallows when Truth hit Gallows with a Corkscrew Flying Forearm. Before the match, Punk made Gallows get down on his knees and apologize for what happened on the last Smackdown. Not sure why Truth was there considering he's a Raw guy, but maybe it's a sign of things to come. Good tag match that saw Hardy get worked over for awhile before making the tag. Afterward, Punk slapped Gallows a few times and Gallows almost snapped before they hugged. Punk then hit the GTS and left him laying.

6. Dolph Ziggler defeated Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston in a Triple Threat match to retain the Intercontinental Title when Ziggler pinned McIntyre after Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise. Kofi got a nice pop when he came out. Ziggler ripped into the crowd a bit before the match. Good action from these three, which was expected. End came when Kingston nailed McIntryre with Trouble in Paradise, but Ziggler tossed Kingston out of the ring so he could make the cover for the win.

7. Kelly Kelly and the Bellas defeated Layla, Jillian Hall, and Rosa Mendes when Kelly hit Mendes with a Rocker Dropper. This was some sort of a beach theme because all of the ladies had on bikini tops. So basically, we were all winners. Again, not sure why the Bellas were there, but maybe Truth gave them a ride. No sign of Michele McCool, so perhaps she was with her man. The end came when the Bellas distracted the other ladies with water guns. Yes, water guns. Kelly hit her finisher for the win.

8. Kane defeated Big Show to retain the World Hvt. Championship. Kane won by using a steel chair with a distraction by CM Punk. Show got the biggest pop of the night. The crowd was really into him. Pretty slow match with Kane working on Show's leg. Ref got squashed on a reserve whip into the turnbuckle. Punk came out and handed Kane a chair. Kane used it and another ref came down to count the pin. Once Kane left, Show had Punk in the ring, and Punk convinced Show to shake hands. They did, but Show then nailed him with the right hand. Punk took a good five minutes to leave the ring as everyone left.

Overall, a pretty good show for a house show. Nothing major happened, but I didn't expect there to be anything major. Good to see all three champions there.

WWE SMACKDOWN IN WHITE PLAINS, NY LIVE REPORT: BIG SHOW VS. KANE, CM PUNK VS. R-TRUTH, DREW VS. KOFI VS. DOLPH AND MORE
By Nick Fox on 2010-09-06 10:30:45

1st Match: Christian defeated “Dashing” Cody Rhodes via Pinfall (Killswitch) Referee: Chad Patton

Rhodes cut a Heel Pro mo before the match. He asked the ladies who they thought was better looking: ladies sided with Christian on this one. Rhodes also made a Stipulation: No wrestler can hit the other person in the face. Good back and forth match: crowd solely behind Christian. Christian worked Cody early. Few nearfalls. Christian hit his Flying Back Elbow & Springboard Sunset Flip. Cody then hit the Alabama Slam; a Springboard Savat Kick. Christian got the edge and hit the Killswitch for the Pinfall.

Alberto Del Rio comes out and attacks Christian. He cuts a Heel Promo saying that he can’t believe he’s facing Chavo Guerrero. Says some other things before Chavo’s music hits.

2nd Match: Alberto Del Rio defeated Chavo Guerrero via Submission (Rolling Cross Arm Bar) Referee: Chad Patton

Great match between these two. They worked both inside and outside the ring: lot of high spots. Crowd was solely behind Chavo. Chavo hit a Flying Cross Body on Alberto. Alberto used some Enzugiri kicks in match. Chavo landed a Tornado DDT on Del Rio. Del Rio worked on Chavo’s arms & legs. Towards the end of that match, Chavo landed a Frog Splash on Del Rio but Alberto got to the ropes before the three count. Del Rio throws Chavo into the Steel Posts and puts the Arm Bar on Chavo as Chavo Submits.

3rd M atch: JTG defeated Tyler Reks via Pinfall (Da Shout Out) Referee: Aaron Mahoney

Match was okay. JTG hit some aerial moves on Reks. Tyler used his strength and worked on JTG’s arms during the match. JTG then hit Da Shout Out on Reks to score the pinfall. A lot of people weren’t impressed towards Tyler. Lot of “You Suck” chants.

4th Match: “Masterlock vs. Ankle Lock” Submission Match: Jack Swagger defeated Chris Masters via Submission (Ankle Lock) Referee: Chad Patton

Good match. Swagger did Push-Ups in the ring before the match. I thought that was funny. Swagger worked the crowd as a heel pretty well. Both worked inside and outside the ring. Swagger controlled the whole match: worked on Master’s arm. Both tried to hit their Submission Moves early. Swagger missed his Slingshot Suplex as Masters gained control. He put on the Masterlock, but Swagger got to the turnbuckles and countered into the Ankle Lock as Chris Submits. Masters sold the injury after the match.

5th Match: R-Truth defeated CM Punk(w. Luke Gallows) via Pinfall (Roll Up) Referee: Aaron Mahoney

Match was scheduled to be a Tag Team Match: Matt Hardy & R-Truth vs. Straight-Edge Society, but turned into a Singles Match. CM Punk cuts a great Heel promo before the match. He asked the crowd if anyone has let people down. He doesn’t accept “failure” in SES; when Gallows Tapped to Big Show on Smackdown. Crowd full of “You Tapped Out” chants. He makes Luke apologize as Gallows gets on his knees and begs for forgiveness. They hug. Truth does his normal “What’s up” entrance. It was funny that Punk would close his ears every time he said “What’s Up.” Truth went DMX on Punk as he was reciting “Party Up.” Good match. I noticed Punk barely used any of his Signature Moves. Truth countered the GTS early with a Roll Up. Punk used his Step-Up Enzugiri. Punk tries to take off the Turnbuckle Pad off. Gallows tries to interfere while referee was fixing the Pad but Truth counters: throws Punk into Gallows as Truth scores the pinfall on a Roll Up. After ma tch, Punk slaps Luke. Gallows goes back to his “Festus.” character. They both hug but Punk gives the GTS to Gallows & leaves.

INTERMISSION

6th Match: WWE Intercontinental Championship: Champion Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre via Pinfall (Dolph Roll Up on Kofi) Referee: Chad Patton

Ziggler cut a nice heel promo before the match. He said everyone is jealous that they don’t have an Intercontinental belt as the crowd boos. He says he’s the greatest IC Champion EVER! Good back and forth match. McIntyre/Ziggler worked together on Kofi early, but that didn’t last long. Ziggler threw out Drew to work on Kofi. Good spot between them two. Ziggler hit some good moves: Fame-ASSER, T-Bone Suplex., & others. Kofi hit a Double Boom Boom Drop on both Dolph & Drew. Dolph did put the Sleeper on Kofi, but Drew countered it with the Neck Breaker. Drew got the upper hand with a Big Boot to Zigg ler. Drew tried to hit the Future Shock DDT on Dolph, but Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise on Drew. Dolph Rolls Up Kofi to score the pinfall and Retain the Intercontinental Championship.

7th Match: “Bathing Suit” 6-Diva Tag Team Match: Kelly Kelly & The Bella Twins(Nikki & Brie) defeated Co-Women’s Champion Layla, Jillian Hall, & Rosa Mendes via Pinfal l (Kelly K2 on Mendes) Referee: Aaron Mahoney.

Typical Divas match. Jillian Hall sung before the match: crowd booed. I do want to say that the Bathing Suits would probably not be “PG.” They definitely weren’t the Baywatch one-pieces they’ve wore on Raw. Layla was hilarious during the match: definitely played the “Beautiful People” gimmick with Hairspray; crowd went along with it. Kelly got the Hot Tag and cleaned house. All 6 Divas in ring: Babyface Divas hit a Triple Dropkick to Heel Divas. Layla hit the Layout to one of the Bellas for a nearfall. Bellas sprayed Layla & Hall with a water gun as they ran outside. Kelly hit the K2 on Rosa to score the pinfall.

Main Event: WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Kane defeated Big Show via Pinfall (Punk’s Interference: Chair DDT to Show) Referee(s): Chad Patton & Aaron Mahoney

Big Show came out to a HUGE pop. Good back and forth match. They both worked outside the ring. Show had the early edge working on Kane; using his Fists in the corner. Show Bodyslammed Kane a couple times. The referee gets knocked out during Big Show’s Irishwhip to Kane.  Kane hit his Flying Clothesline. CM Punk came out to give a Steel Chair to Kane. Kane Chairshots Show followed by a DDT on the Chair to score the pinfall as a new referee(Aaron Mahoney) came out t o score the pinfall. After the match, Show eyes Punk. After a few minutes of begging, they both smile. Show handshakes Punk but Punk tries to run away. Show has Punk by his trunks & Knockout Hooks Punk out cold. No lie, Punk laid motionless in the ring for a good 5-8 minutes. The trainer came down to use the smelling salt on Punk; Punk went crazy. Punk attacks the medic as they fall outside the ring. Referees help break it up as Punk leaves the stage. Show Ends.

Live Notes:

I’ve never been to the Westchester County Center. Looked like an old-school gy mnasium. I’d say it was 85-90% full by end of night.

Tony Chimel/Ashley Valence promoted the Merchandise stand. Ashley threw out t-shirts during that event. Ashley also gave a lucky kid to be a Time Keeper/Ring Beller during a match.

Tony Chimel  promoted both the Night of Champions PPV and WWE’s Return to Madison Square Garden at the end of September. He said both Bret Hart & Undertaker would make their returns to MSG.

Crowd was hot the whole night but kind of died out for the Swagger-Masters match & Divas Tag match.

Biggest Pops:
1. Big Show
2. Kofi Kingston
3. Christian

Biggest Heat:
1. Alberto Del Rio
2. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes
3. Straight-Edge Society/Dolph Ziggler

What a great night in White Plains. The crowd was alive all night, and the matches were solid. The promos were fantastic. I suggest everyone should see a live WWE event if they can.

COMPLETE WWE SMACKDOWN SPOILERS
By Ken McAndrew on 2010-09-07 20:38:13
Kane/Taker recap video to open, then usual SD open and pyro.

They announced Taker and Punk, and then the gong hit and Taker was in the ring, fire going off on stage. He talked about how he's had to protect Kane from others and him self, so he'll have no problem beating on him at the PPV. Taker says he still controls the power of the darkness. He said Kane will always remember his older, wiser, more evil brother would take his title back. Taker says no rules can contain them, and says the match must be no holds barred.

CM Punk comes out alone, clapping. He tells everyone to stand and give Taker a round of applause fitting his legendary status. Punk says after the PPV none of us will see Taker again. He enjoys watching Taker on his own downward spiral, seeing a broken down man who's had one too many fights and is delusional.

Taker says he sees his next victim. Punk says he doesn't hear the same panache in Taker's voice, saying he's facing Big Show at the PPV (for no title I guess?) Taker says Punk will rest in peace, and we break.

Jack Swagger vs. MVP - they showed a recap of last week's VIP Lounge. It looks like MVP added the triple German suplexes, but only got two before Swagger elbowed out. Swagger did an abdominal stretch on MVP through the ropes. MVP hit the Ballin elbow, but Swagger slipped away before the 305. MVP followed and Swagger kicked the steps into MVP's knee, leading to the ankle lock for the tap.

Laycool and Kaval in the back, arguing over who would face Melina, saying Vickie let either defend. Kaval said it was his first night on SD, and could the girls please chill? They heeled him a bit, saying he wouldn't be there if not for them.

Next is a history of Taker and Kane.

Tony Chimel announces Alberto del Rio's ring announcer, who announced Alberto.

Alberto del Rio (with Orton's old sparkler curtain) vs. Matt Hardy - Matt's back to camouflage pants and no singlet. Alberto hit Matt on the apron with a running enziguri that was real loud. Matt hit an inverted Twist of Fate, ending with an elbowdrop for two, followed by a moonsault for two. They fought up top, with Alberto dropping to the floor to hang Matt's gut. Ram to the post followed by a flip into the cross-armbreaker for the tap. Afterwards, Christian ran Alberto off. Long TV match.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kaval (who already has better music and video than Daniel Bryan) - Drew hit a nasty suplex on the floor, landing Kaval on the apron. Kaval with an enziguri from the top rope, but Drew rolled out before Warrior's Way. Kaval went for a rana from the apron but Drew essentially powerbomed Kaval. Back in the ring, Drew hit the Future Shock DDT for three. Laycool came out to check on Kaval, but were icky at his sweat. They helped him to the back.

DASHING Cody Rhodes with grooming tips - how facials are good for men, while wearing a green facial mask.

Vickie and Caitlyn came out...again. Vickie kept berating Caitlyn's promo work, then introduced Dolph Ziggler. Chavo (with short tights) also came out and the whole group came to the ring .

Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero vs. Kofi Kingston and Chris Masters - One of these things just doesn't belong. Beatdown on Masters until a hot tag. Kofi entered with a high springboard clothesline. Double clothesline spot. Dolph made a tag but the ref didn't see it and put Chavo out - weird to do to the heels of course. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Dolph for the three count.

A lot of ring and stage setup, including Kane's pyro corners. Meantime Big Show on the tron, interviewing himself, with him playing Josh Matthews. Kelly told Show Josh was coming do Show hid the mic under his arm. Josh got his mikc back, a bit soiled.

CM Punk with Straight Edge Society, then he sends them to the back. Punk vs. Undertaker - Punk cut off the usual moves, but got chokeslammed for two. Taker went for the tombstone, but Punk slipped out and hit the GTS. Punk slow to cover, and Taker got the Hell's Gate for the tap.

Undertaker went to pose and Kane's pyro went off with his laughter filling the arena like Joker's laugh box from 1989's Batman. That's where Smackdown ends.

Dark:

Undertaker vs. Kane for the World title - ends in a double countout. Kane continued the beating til Taker hit a chokeslam. Kane ran after that and the show ended with Taker posing.
