*Beat the Clock Challenge tonight.

*CM Punk comes to the ring with Luke Gallows. Punk began cutting a promo on the crowd for breaking their New Year's Resolutions already. He tried to lead the crowd in a pledge for the Straightedge Lifestyle. It was hilarious. Punk said he would save someone's life from the audience next week. He said he will set the best time tonight and at the Royal Rumble, he'll defeat The Undertaker and become the Four Time Straightedge World champion.

*In a Beat the Clock Challenge, CM Punk pinned Matt Hardy with the GTS in 7:20. Luke Gallows went after Hardy after the bout. Hardy fought back and Punk jumped him. They left Hardy laying.

*Dolph Ziggler fought Kane to 7:20 draw. Kane was trapped in a rear choke as the time expired. Ziggler laid out Kane with a back cracker afterwards. Competitive bout.

*The Great Khali defeated an indy worker billed as The Carolina Panther, who wore a Panthers jersey for heat since the Panthers murdered the Giants over the weekend.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Drew McIntrye defeated John Morrison via DQ. Morrison hit a moonsault off the rail on the floor. Morrison got his foot tangled in between the middle and bottom rope so they worked it into the bout with McIntytre working on the leg. Morrison came back with a kick to the face. Morrison worked some of his springboard spots on one leg. McIntyre hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Morrison worked over McIntyre and the referee admonished him. As the ref turned around, McIntyre shoved Morrison into him and the ref DQ'd Morrison. Lame. Morrison attacked McIntyre in the aisle and the referees broke them up. Morrison, who took his boot off during the bout, sold the ankle all the way back.

*Michelle McCool and Layla El came down for commentary.

*Mickie James pinned Beth Phoenix after Michelle McCool went to interfere and hit Phoenix by acc ident. Layla and McCool attacked James but Phoenix turned babyface and saved her. After running them off, Phoenix slapped Mickie's hand but then hit an Implant Buster.

*Chris Jericho cut a promo saying he would be the face of everything in WWE and would win every title in 2010 once he and Big Show won the Tag belts back from DX on Monday.

*In a Beat the Clock Challenge, Rey Mysterio pinned Chris Jericho in 7:19. Good back and forth match. Mysterio went for the 619 but was caught and pulled into the Walls of Jericho. Mysterio made it to the ropes and hit a 619. He went for a spriing board splash but Jericho turned it into a Codebreaker. Mysterio kicked out and with one second left pinned Jericho with a small package. Mysterio beat the clock.

*Hart Dynasty & Natalya defeated Maria & Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J. Natalya put the Sharpshooter on Maria afterwards. There were small "We want Bret" chants.

*They announced a Monday 4/19 taping at Izod Center.

*In a Beat the Clock Challenge, Batista vs. R-Truth went to a 7:19 draw. Rey Mysterio watched from ringside. Batista went for a powerbomb but Truth escaped and kicked him out of the ring. Truth hit a dive over the top to the floor. Batista took control on the floor and ran Truth into the ringpost. He threw Truth into the stairs and continued to beat him. Truth fired back but was caught with a Black Hole Slam. Batista went for a spear but Truth was able to sidestep him and nail a DDT for a two count. He kicked off a Batista charge and drop toeholded him into the corner. He went for a top rope legdrop but missed. Batista speared him but began jawing with Mysterio with a minute left. He nailed a powerbomb but with three seconds left, Mysterio pulled the ref out of the ring and the time expired. Mysterio vs. Undertaker at Royal Rumble.

* Vickie Guerrero comes out and says that she is sorry to Mysterio, but on Smackdown everyone follows the rules. She said it was clear as day that Mysterio cheated, so she announced Mysterio vs. Batista for the 1/8 Smackdown episode to determine the true number one contender.

So, basically, besides the Punk/Matt match I should be able to *work* (Yes, I am
working on New Year's day) through the rest of the episode and not miss anything
exciting, huh? And I was really looking forward to seeing the Morrizon/McIntyre
match as well as the Hart Dynasty tag match as I've been reading in house show
reviews that Slam Master J & Jimmy Wang Yang are really gelling as a tag team.

Bummer dude!

Kewl! Thanks for the clarification! I'll prob still have to work more, tho'.
I'm just trying to keep up so I don't go back to work on Monday already behind
in the new year.

At least I'll have some really pretty distractions going on while I work! =)

SMACKDOWN REPORT: CHEATERS NEVER PROSPER; IF YOU LIKE MATCHES WHERE REFEREES GET BUMPED YOU WILL LIKE THE TITLE MATCH TONIGHT; BEAT THE CLOCK CHALLENGE GIVES US NOTHING DEFINITE; JERICHO SHOULD BE A SMACKDOWN ANNOUNCER
by Richard Trionfo @ 10:02 PM on 1/1/2010

We begin this year’s WWE programming with a look back at the continued battle between Batista and Rey Mysterio to determine the man who would face the Undertaker for the title as well as the match between Rey and Undertaker that was interrupted by Batista’s actions.

We are live on tape from East Rutherford, New Jersey and your announcers are Matt ‘Costas’ Striker and Todd ‘Merry New Year’ Grisham.

Todd lets us know that we will find out Undertaker’s opponent at the Royal Rumble with the Beat the Clock Challenge, which is a staple of the first Smackdown of each year.

CM Punk comes to the ring with Luke Gallows and he is going to address the crowd. He wants to know if anyone in the crowd has made New Year’s Resolutions. He tells some of the fans who are booing his comments that he only asked them to raise their hands, not to boo or cheer something. He wants to know if anyone has broken them already. Punk asks a fan what he resolution might have been and Punk suggests that he already broke it. Punk wonders how many were going to give up drinking for the New Year. He says that resolutions are about bettering yourself and Punk says that he has no reason to make resolutions because he is already better. He says that he can help everyone and save them and points to Luke Gallows. Punk wants everyone to stand up to make a pledge. He tells people at home to touch their television screens so they can feel his power flow through their veins.

Punk’s pledge is “I (state your name) am tired of wasting my life being a loser. I am tired of treating my body like a sewer. I am tired of not having the strength to just say no. In 2010 I will adhere to the straight edge lifestyle. I will not smoke. I will not drink. I will not do drugs.”

Punk comments that the people in the crowd are not good at following directions. He wants to make it clear to them. He does not want to have to beat this into them. He says that he will beat everyone up if that is what it takes to get his message through. Punk suggests that some people are still hung over. Punk says that he will save a lost soul from the audience because he has heart. In each city, his message will grow and spread until everyone realizes that he is not a minor threat and the youth of today will come together as a straight edge society. Punk says it will start tonight when he sets the winning time in the Beat the Clock Challenge. At the Royal Rumble he will become a 4 time Straight Edge Champion when he defeats the Undertaker.

Jericho says that he is bigger than anyone who is watching the show and he is bigger than the WWE. Jericho says that on Monday night, he will regain the Unified Tag Titles by beating DX with his partner the Big Show. That will mean that Jericho will continue to be the face of Smackdown, Raw, ECW, Superstars, live events, pay per views, WWE on Demand, and WWE Classics. He says that he will be the face of the company. Jericho says that his New Year’s Resolution will be to win every title in the company. He says that it will start tonight when he beats Rey Mysterio in record time. Then he will beat the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble to become a six time champion. Batista with a spinebuster and he sees that he has 20 seconds left. Batista gets Truth in the Batista Bomb and hits it but Rey pulls the referee out of the ring with four seconds left and time runs out.
No Contest

After the match, Rey goes to the stage and he gloats while staring back at Batista who is not happy while standing in the ring.

Vickie Guerrero comes out and she excuses herself as she stands next to Rey. She apologizes to Rey because on Smackdown we all follow the rules. She tells Rey that it was obvious that Rey cheated. Since they could not determine the proper winner, she advises Rey to face Batista next week to determine the true number one contender to face Undertaker.

We go to credits.

Too funny! I was watching last night and thinking the same thing!

I'll admit that up until now I've actually enjoyed the scruffy look on him but
his beard definitely needs a trim.

The chest hair, however, can *definitely* stay! Yum! =P

Dave L. sent this report. ... It seems that Hulk Hogan has a press tour coming up on Monday morning. He's calling into "The BJ Shea Morning Experience" on 99.9 KISW/"The Rock of Seattle" on Monday at 6:50 a.m. PST to promote the live Impact.  He is going also going to address some comments from WWE's CM Punk made on BJ's show before the holiday break.  Here's a link to that audio: http://is.gd/5K34V.  About 9:50 into the audio file, Punk talks about TNA and shoots on the product and Hulk Hogan. The show is going to play this audio for Hulk on Monday at and get his reaction.  KISW has a ACC+ audio stream that plays quite well in WinAmp: http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KISWFMAAC.pls.

During the appearance, Hogan responded to comments made by former WWE World champion CM Punk about Hogan being out for himself, not TNA and for Hogan to "prove him wrong."

After listening to the comments from Punk, Hogan commented, "Well, you know, it's kind of like the law of attraction.  He's probably going to attract more of that negative stuff to his career because, you know, if you're functioning on that level, that's probably what you are going to attract, but at the end of the day, you know, I was selling out Madison Square Garden when that kid was pooping in his diapers, so you know, you're going to see what I'm all about.  I'm not there to wrestle.  I don't have a contract to wrestle.  I'm there to run this company.  Make it better, like I said, give the talent a choice.  All the talents that are locked in there...I'm sure Vince McMahon is giving CM Punk the big push but paying him crumbs, because I know how that goes, because I'm giving the fans a choice, and the talent a choice and I'm going to prove to this negative guy that he's wrong."

When asked about Punk making a "personal attack", Hogan responded, "That's cool.  I understand he's surrounded by negative stuff up there and I can see why he's jaded in his opinion.  One of the things that I learned a long time ago is that you can't judge anyone.  You can't judge a book by it's cover.  Some of the craziest looking, weirdest people seem to be the nicest people and the most honest people in the world.  I would never judge anyone before I meet them.  Some day down the road, CM Punk and I are probably going to work together and I would never judge him under any preconceived notions.  I would judge him on the type of person he was when I met him.  It's all good, brother.  I am vibing so high brother.  I am going to reward those who are with me and those who aren't my friends, I am going to win them over and make them my friends."

You can listen to the complete interview, which features Hogan commenting on the karma that he was now in charge of Vince Russo, which TNA stars he is a huge fan of and much more by clicking here.   BJ Shea's website can be found at http://bjaday.com/.

ECW REPORT: THE HOMECOMING COURT IS COMPLETE; THE DAY AFTER THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY IN WRESTLING EVER IN THE YEAR 2010
by Richard Trionfo @ 11:01 PM on 1/5/2010

We begin with highlights of CM Punk and Mark Henry since they will be meeting in the ECW Homecoming Tournament a-go-go.

We are live on tape from Louisville, Kentucky and your announcers are Josh ‘Did anyone remind Abe that he shouldn’t wear Kentucky colors tonight’ Mathews and Bryon ‘I thought you were going to tell him’ Saxton.

Christian comes to the ring and he has something to say. He says that it is fitting that they are in Louisville, Kentucky because they are in the homestretch for ECW Homecoming to see who faces him at the Royal Rumble.

CM Punk interrupts Christian and he comes out with Luke Gallows. Punk says that while he is positive that what Christian had to say was important, nobody can say anything more important than what Punk has to say right now. Punk wants to know why Christian is grinning since he hasn’t really said anything. Christian tells Punk that last night he saw something that he would never see with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels hugging in the ring. He is now seeing something he never wanted to see and that is CM Punk back on ECW. Punk says that being back on ECW is something Christian better get used to. Punk says that Christian’s title is why he is here. Homecoming is about former champions and stars coming back to get a chance to win the ECW Title. Punk says that he will win tonight and next week to face Christian at the Royal Rumble and win the title. Punk says that he will prove that by winning the ECW Title, he is better than everyone. He says that he is everyone’s savior. He says that he is a natural born leader. Punk says that ECW is home to the brightest, youngest, and newest stars. Punk says that he will be the shepherd and a role model for all of them. He will show them how to live the straight edge way.

Christian asks if the straight edge way means that you look like you haven’t taken a shower in two weeks. Christian says that Punk might be speaking too soon because of the people who have qualified already and he mentions that Shelton Benjamin will be facing Chavo Guerrero to try to qualify. Christian asks Punk who he is wrestling and then he says that Punk will be beaten by the World’s Strongest Man. Christian says that Punk won’t smoke, drink, do drugs, or face him for the title at the Royal Rumble.

We go to commercial.

We are back and did you know that the Europe graphic still works in 2010.

Match Number One: Shelton Benjamin versus Chavo Guerrero in an ECW Homecoming Court Qualifying Match

Chavo with punches to Shelton and the referee pulls him out of the corner. Benjamin sends Chavo into the corner and he punches him until the referee stops him. Benjamin with a back elbow for a near fall. Benjamin misses a charge into the corner and then Chavo goes for the Three Amigos but Benjamin blocks the third one and hits a German suplex and bridge for a near fall. Benjamin punches Chavo and then he sends Chavo to the apron but Chavo with a kick to the knee as he tries to negate Benjamin’s aerial moves. Chavo continues to work on the leg. Chavo with a slingshot senton onto Shelton’s leg for a near fall. Chavo continues to work on the knee. Benjamin with a kick followed by a dragon whip but he still favors his leg. Benjamin with punches and a back body drop. Chavo with punches but Benjamin sends Chavo into the air and gets a near fall. Chavo with a single leg crab but Benjamin countes. Chavo with a satellite head scissors and then he goes up top for the frog splash and he rolls through when Benjamin moves. Benjamin hits Paydirt for the three count.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

We go to commercial.

We are back and we take a look back at the final match for Tommy Dreamer in any ECW entity followed by Dreamer’s comments.

Zack Ryder comes out with Rosa Mendes. He says that we have seen enough of the fat loser blubbering. He says that Tommy Dreamer is dead and gone. He says that they should talk about the man who is still here. He did something bigger than winning ECW Homecoming or winning the ECW Title. He stopped the heart of ECW and changed the tone of the show. ECW is now about one man . . . Zack Ryder.

It is time for a Raw Rebound.

Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov are walking in the back in split screen as we go to commercial.

Match Number Two: Ezekiel Jackson with William Regal versus Vladimir Kozlov

They stare at each other before locking up. Kozlov with an arm drag and he wants Jackson to come at him. Kozlov with a waist lock take down into a front face lock. Kozlov releases the hold when Jackson makes it to the ropes. Jackson with a punch but Kozlov with a kick that sends Jackson to the floor. Kozlov with a series of kicks but Jackson blocks it and then he works on the leg. Jackson with a forearm and then he puts Kozlov’s leg in the ropes. Kozlov with a forearm but Jackson returns to the leg with a kick. Jackson tries to use the apron but Kozlov fights him off. Jackson slams Kozlov’s leg into the apron and then into the ring post. Jackson continues to work on the leg with an elbow drop. Kozlov kicks Jackson off but Jackson returns to the leg and Kozlov tries to fight off Jackson’s attack. Jackson drops Kozlov’s knee onto his shoulder. Jackson works on the leg. Kozlov sends Jackson to the floor and then he kicks Jackson and slams Jackson. Kozlov follows that with an Irish whip and running clothesline followed by another Irish whip and shoulders in the corner. Jackson with a kick to Kozlov followed by a lariat. Jackson with a brainbuster to Kozlov followed by the uranage for the three count.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson

After the match, Regal verbally berates Kozlov while Jackson holds Kozlov and then he sends Kozlov face first into the mat.

Mark Henry is in the locker room and Tony Atlas stops by to say hello. Tony says that they should relive old times and he could accompany Mark to the ring. Mark thinks about it but he hears Tony laugh and Mark says no. Tony says that he is there for Mark and he laughs us into commercial.

Match Number Three: CM Punk with Luke Gallows versus Mark Henry in an ECW Homecoming King Tournament Qualifying Match

Punk avoids Henry and cowers into the ropes. Punk with a waist lock but Henry pulls Punk’s arms apart and hits a hip toss. Punk with a series of kicks to Henry but Henry stays on his feet. Henry grabs Punk’s leg on a kick and then he throws Punk over the top rope to the floor and we go to commercial.

We are back and Henry with a clothesline but Punk rolls to the floor to stop Henry’s offense. Henry goes after Punk on the floor but Punk with a drop toe hold to Henry and Mark goes into the ring steps. Punk with a kick to Henry when he rolls back into the ring. Punk with a series of knees to the head. Punk gets a near fall. Punk with punches to Henry as he continues to wear down the big man. Punk with a neck breaker for a near fall. Punk with a figure four head scissors on Henry. Punk gets a near fall on Henry after a few kicks. Punk pulls down the knee pad and he continues with knees to the head. Henry shows no effect from the last set of knees and he Marks up and connects with head butts that rebound Punk off the ropes and then Henry with clothesline. Punk gets splashed in the corner. Henry with a forearm to the chest and then he gets ready for a running splash into the corner but Punk moves out of the way. Punk with the running knee into the corner and he tries for the bulldog but Henry pushes Punk away. The referee is out of position and Luke kicks Henry in the head and Punk with a roundhouse kick for the three count.
Winner: CM Punk

Josh and Byron run through the eight men in the Over the Top Challenge to see who faces Christian at the Royal Rumble. They are Evan Bourne, Vance Archer, Ezekiel Jackson, Kane, Yoshi Tatsu, Shelton Benajmin, Matt Hardy, and CM Punk.

We go to credits.

*CM Punk and Luke Gallows come out and "save" a member of the WWE Universe. He picks someone out from the crowd (I believe Manbeast from OVW) and asked him if he is ready to be safe. The fan say he thinks so and Punk asked him if he's ready to stop or not. The fan says he is ready to stop. Punk said OK, then said there's one more thing he needs to do to become part of the straightedge lifestyle, cut his hair. The fan refuses at first but finally agrees. Gallows takes out an electric razor and shaves the fan's head bald.

COMPLETE WWE PPV WIN/LOSS RECORDS FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT ROSTER
by H.B Kid @ 10:06 AM on 1/6/2010

Throughout 2009, I kept track of WWE's Pay-Per-View Results. From those results, I compiled every wrestler's Win-Loss Record. Every match that was on Pay-Per-View is counted except the Royal Rumble and the Miss WrestleMania 25 Diva Battle Royal, which were won by Randy Orton & Santina Marella, respectively.

I thought I would share the list with you, so you can post it on the site and have people discuss it on the Message Board.  I also compared the numbers from 2009 and 2008 to see the difference in matches, and other things. The brand (Raw (R), Smackdown (S), ECW (E) and Non-Branded (NB) are as of the end of 2009, or when they last worked for the company, not when the match took place.

The affiliation (Face (F) & Heel (H) is for what they were at the time of the match, hence the wrestlers that have multiple letters next to their name, meaning that they switched from one to the other, throughout the year.

Non-Branded Wrestlers are those that aren't assigned to a particular brand, like Shane McMahon & the WWE Legends (Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, & Jimmy Snuka), who although their feuds were shown on Raw, they weren't officially part of Raw. So, without further adieu, here's the list.

  1. Chris Jericho (SD, H)          9-5-0
  2. John Cena (R, F)                8-6-0
  3. Christian (E, F)                   7-3-0
