Though SummerSlam was just weeks ago, there is only one thing on the mind of WWE Superstars: Unforgiven. With a Championship Scramble set to feature five of Raw’s most powerful and intense competitors, tensions are running high.

That heat just might explode on Raw as the five Superstars meet early in a Raw Battle Royal. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, new Scramble Match addition Rey Mysterio, JBL, Kane and Batista will all be in the ring, searching for a way to grab an early advantage heading into Sunday's pay-per-view. Who will be the man left smiling after Raw and bringing momentum to the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble Match at Unforgiven?

Another pre-Unforgiven meeting takes place as well, as Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho ink the contract for their Unsanctioned Match. This signing will be the first time these Superstars have been in the ring with each other since Y2J left HBK's wife in a world of pain. Will The Showstopper have a few words for his Unforgiven opponent just days before their contest?

Also on Raw, Randy Orton plans to make a special appearance to address the title holders on Raw. Orton is a former three-time World Champion, himself. What message will he deliver to the current champions?

In addition to having four opponents at Unforgiven and a Raw Battle Royal, Rey Mysterio may have more to battle. After General Manager Mike Adamle announced that John Cena’s recently sustained herniated disk in his neck would prevent him from competing in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble, he replaced Cena with Mysterio. But Mysterio has been missing from Raw for months, due to a brutal attack by Kane, if the Big Red Monster is to be believed. Will Mysterio be in good enough physical condition to compete at Unforgiven? And what type of mental state will the Ultimate Underdog be in?

Last Monday night, Raw’s resident golden couple, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella and Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, had a brief lovers’ spat, due to Santino distracting Beth during a match against Kelly Kelly and The Glamazon’s subsequent loss. While “Glamarella” appears to have reconciled, could this signal a rocky period for Santino and Beth?

For the answers to these questions and more, make sure to tune into Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT, back on its regular channel, only on USA Network.

WWE Raw Results - September 1, 2008
Written by: Kyle Faust - September 01st, 2008

- Tonight’s WWE RAW kicks off with the hometown boy Randy Orton coming to the ring. Orton has his arm in a sling and gets a mixed reaction from the crowd. Orton says he is still injured and didn’t want to come back until he was 100% percent. He says RAW is an absolute joke and starts dissing the Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix and says she isn’t fooling herself and even disses Santino Marella. Orton says he could beat Santino injured.

Orton then talks about Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, dissing them and talking about how Cryme Tyme had their titles. Next Orton discusses the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and says he is disgracing the title. Orton talks about Punk’s past and says he is a nobody and was until he grabbed a briefcase from a ladder and got a lucky title win. Orton says he would love to challenge Punk tonight and take back what is his, but he’s not medically cleared to wrestle.

Orton says it won’t be long, but he will challenge Punk and bring the belt back where it belongs and make RAW something again. The music hits and out comes CM Punk to a huge pop.

Punk and Orton come face to face and Punk says he has a headache from listening to Orton. Punk says he didn’t have daddy and granddaddy pushing him into the business, he had to earn his spot. Punk says he doesn’t drink or smoke, and he doesn’t take joyrides on motorcycles at 3am and injure himself again. Punk says he went from the Age of Orton to a complete afterthought. Punk says Orton is jealous and this pisses him off. Orton says Punk is the most pathetic Champion and Punk cuts him off. Punk says he would love for this to go down but he has bigger plans to look forward to. Punk says there is only one person in this ring who is pathetic, and it’s not him.

Orton says this conversation is going to have to continue at a later time and makes his way out of the ring. Punk says they will talk later and talks some more to Orton as JBL’s music hits and out he comes to the entrance way. Orton and JBL exchange a look as JBL heads to the ring.

JBL tells Punk that he doesn’t get it and in six days his fairy tale is over as he will lose the World Heavyweight Championship and his fluke of a run will come to an end. JBL says the odds are against Punk and says he is one Clothesline from Hell away from being World Champion.

JBL says he would love for it to be Punk who he pins for the belt but says it could be anyone and mentions the other participants. Out comes Kane. Kane says he has been to hell and he didn’t see JBL’s clothesline anywhere. But he did see Rey Mysterio and says he is still there, despite what Mike Adamle says. Kane says he will not be on RAW tonight and will not be at Unforgiven on Sunday because he made sure of it. Batista’s music cuts off Kane and The Animal comes out, dressed to fight. Batista hits the ring, grabs the mic from JBL and goes to talk. He throws the mic down and spears Kane, then JBL. Batista locks eyes with Punk and spears him as well. Batista makes his exit from the ring as all three men lay in the ring as we get ready for a break.

Charlie Haas vs. Kofi Kingston

Back from commercial and John Cena’s music hits and the crowd goes nuts. Out comes Charlie Haas dressed as and acting like Cena. Haas gets on the mic and says have no fear because “The Haas is Here.” Out comes Kofi for the match.

They start the match off locking up and Kofi has most of the control. Haas signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but doesn’t get to do it. Kofi hits a series of big impact moves including his double leg drop.

Haas goes for the FU but Kofi blocks it and hits more of his usual moves. Kofi hits the Trouble in Paradise finisher on Haas to get the pinfall and the win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

- Back from commercial and Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase confront Randy Orton backstage. Orton asks Cody if he remembers when he slapped his dad and slaps the hell out of Cody. Ted holds Cody back. Orton says they are two of the most talented in the WWE locker room and they need to get it together.

- Backstage we see Mike Adamle meeting with Teddy Long and Tiffany, welcoming them to RAW for the night. Adamle mumbles some crap until Kane walks in. Kane asks why Adamle announced Rey for the match at Unforgiven. Adamle said he did it hoping that Rey would show up. Kane says Rey’s body has been massacred and his body extinguished but tells Adamle to keep hope.

ECW Championship Scramble Battle Royal: Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay vs. The Miz vs. Mark Henry

Hardy, Chavo with Bam Neely and Finlay with Hornswoggle make their way to the ring before a commercial break. Following the break, The Miz and ECW Champion Mark Henry with Tony Atlas make their way to the ring.

The match starts with everyone beating on Mark Henry. He eventually fights them off but Miz and Hardy double DDT him. Finlay scoop slams Chavo ontop of Henry. Hardy and Miz duke it out in the corner trying to eliminate each other. Finlay almost goes over the top but hangs on.

Chavo tries to eliminate Miz but Mark Henry comes up and throws them both over. Henry splashes Finlay and lays out Hardy. Henry waits on Finlay to get up and kicks him in the head then hits a big running splash in the corner. Henry misses a splash on Hardy and gets hit with many right hands. Finlay spears Henry in the corner and they try to throw the Champion over the top.

They can’t get him over and Henry tosses Finlay to the floor. Henry and Hardy go at it in the ring now. Henry blocks a Twist of Fate and throws Hardy to the floor to win. Tony Atlas rushes the ring to celebrate with the ECW Champion. Henry eliminated each and every man in this match.

Winner: Mark Henry

- Back from commercial and we see Chris Jericho backstage going over papers with Lance Cade.

William Regal vs. Jamie Noble

Noble makes his way to the ring first and talks about Layla being with him. She is sitting at ringside, not looking too happy. William Regal comes to the ring and starts working over Noble.

Noble tries to get in a little bit of offense but Regal is on a roll. Layla now has a bit of concern on her face. Regal hits some nice suplexes and stomps in the corner on Noble. Regal drops Noble with a nasty back suplex. Out of nowhere Noble rolls Regal up for the win.

Winner: Jamie Noble

After the match, Layla finally looks impressed with Noble. They celebrate together and leave towards the back with each other.

- Backstage we see Mickie James and Kelly Kelly talking as we get ready for the six-Diva match and go to another commercial break.

Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix and Katie Lea vs. Kelly Kelly, Mickie James and Candice Michelle

Back from commercial and Jillian Hall breaks out in her horrible version of Nelly’s “Hot in Here.” Jerry Lawler said Nelly must be rolling over in his grave and Cole corrected him, mentioning that Nelly is very much alive. Thankfully Mickie’s music hits and out she comes followed by Kelly Kelly. Next out is the WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix who joins Katie and Jillian in the ring. Beth gets on the mic and addresses Randy Orton, saying she is the most talented Diva to ever step in the ring. Candice Michelle’s music hits and out comes the returning Diva!

Kelly and Katie Lea start the match with Katie throwing her to the mat and getting an early 1 count. Kelly kicks Katie in the ribs and backs her in the corner, tagging in Mickie. Mickie comes off the top with a Thesz Press and gets a 2 count on Katie.

Jillian gets tagged in and they double team Mickie until she kicks them off. Beth grabs Mickie and she and Jillian drop Mickie on the mat. Jillian tags in Beth who comes in and hits a big slingshot suplex on Mickie for a 2 count. Beth throws Mickie in the corner and distracts the ref so the other Divas can work her over. Katie gets tagged in and punishes Mickie some more.

Jillian and Katie try to double team Mickie but she kicks Katie out of the ring and hits a neckbreaker on Jillian. Beth gets tagged in but so does Candice. Candice looks kind of excited and hits some kicks and punches on Beth. She botches a head scissor move and a turnbuckle ove. Candice gets on top of Beth and hits her with more sloppy kicks and stomps. Candice climbs the top turnbuckle but Jillian and Katie try to stall her. Candice leaps onto Beth but gets caught up in her finisher. Candice counters the finisher and manages to roll Beth up for the win.

Winners: Candice Michelle, Mickie James and Kelly Kelly

- We cut to a long promo video of the feud between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho.

Non-Title Match: Santino Marella vs. D-Lo Brown

Back from commercial and WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella comes out for this non-title match. Santino addresses Randy Orton and says he will prove to be the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all-time and puts a Honk-A-Meter on the screen where he compares himself to The Honkey Tonk Man.

The match ends when D-Lo misses his Frogsplash off the top after controlling most of the match and Santino getting the cheap pin. Santino celebrates with his belt and makes his exit as his music plays.

Winner: Santino Marella

- Backstage we see Shawn Michaels and another man going over legal papers. HBK just has a blank stare on his face as the man talks. Back to commercial.

The Miz and John Morrison vs. Cryme Tyme

Back from commercial and ECW’s Miz and Morrison make their way to the ring. Out next is Cryme Tyme, who still have Rhodes and DiBiase’s Tag Team Titles in their posession. Miz and Morrison meet them on the entrance way and they start brawling.

Cody and Ted run down and attack Cryme Tyme, picking their belts back up. They take Cryme Tyme in the ring and DDT JTG on the belt, leaving him lay and Shad is knocked out on the outside. Cody and Ted raise their hands and titles in the air as the crowd tells them they suck and we go back to commercial.

Winners: Cryme Tyme by DQ

- Back from commercial and Orton runs into Cody and Ted again. They hold up their belts and he gives them a look of approval and the two sides keep walking.

World Heavyweight Championship Scramble Battle Royal: Batista vs. Kane vs. JBL vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

The Animal is out first for tonight’s main event, followed by JBL coming out of his white limousine. Back to commercial.

Back from commercial and Randy Orton is now sitting at ringside. Out next is the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as Orton stands up to stare him down. The pyro explodes and now Kane makes his way to the ring. The match starts without Rey and the Superstars go to brawling.

Batista unloads on both Kane and JBL with big moves and hits Punk with a clothesline. JBL goes for his Clothesline from Hell but Batista spears him. Batista spears Punk but gets eliminated by Punk. JBL lays Kane and Punk down with big boots. JBL runs at Punk but gets dumped to the floor. It’s now Kane and Punk.

Kane and Punk square off with Punk hitting right hands and kicks. Kane hits a big right hand of his own and sends Punk to the corner for more punishment. Kane tries to eliminate Punk but can’t do it. Kane hits a big sideslam on Punk and throws him into the corner but misses a splash. Punk hits three running knees to the face and goes for the bulldog but can’t hit it. Kane with another big boot.

Punk either tries to hit the GTS or eliminate Kane but can’t. Kane throws him at the apron and he hangs on. Punk comes back in and gets grabbed by his throat and thrown over the top rope for Kane to win.

Winner: Kane

After the match, Orton and Punk come face to face on the floor. Punk nails Orton in the face with a water bottle and walks away with his belt. Rey Mysterio’s music hits and out he comes!

The crowd pops for Rey as he rushes the ring where Kane is. They go at it with Rey hitting a dropkick and taking Kane to the mat. Rey gets on top of him and starts beating on him. Rey backs Kane out to the floor and hits a hurrancanrana off the apron. Rey goes on to hit the 619 wrapped around the ring post. Kane grabs him but Rey goes to the fan barrier and hits another hurrancanrana. Rey goes back in the ring, climbs the turnbuckle and taunts Kane as his music hits. Rey keeps on taunting Kane as Kane looks on from inside the crowd. We get ready for another commercial break.

- Back from commercial and Jerry Lawler is in the ring where a red carpet is laid over the ring and a table and chairs are setup. Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring in a suit. Security surrounds the ring and a couple of lawyer looking guys are in the ring with Lawler. Lawler says he has been asked by Adamle to moderate this contract signing between HBK and Y2J that will make their match Unsanctioned, with no rules and no liabilities. Shawn Michaels is brought out next.

Jericho is sitting down as Michaels enters the ring, takes a seat and removes his cowboy hat. Michaels stares down Jericho, who won’t look back. Lawler says their lawyers have looked over the documents and says Mike Adamle said if there is any physical contact between the two tonight, their match will be called off. Lawler tells them to sign the document. Jericho pulls the pad over to him and signs his name.

Michaels gets the pad next and signs his name, still while looking at Jericho. Lawler thanks both of them for coming out and Jericho cuts him off. Jericho asks Shawn why all the security is here and keeps on ranting. HBK says it’s not his security and if he had it his way, it would only be the two of them out here. Jericho says he has something to say to HBK and both of them agree the security should leave and they do. Lawler and the lawyers leave as well.

Jericho goes on about what happened at SummerSlam and says he did what HBK said, sat his family down and told them he would never be an egomaniac and liar like Shawn Michaels. He says he forbid them from watching Unforgiven because of what he will do to HBK. Jericho keeps running his mouth to HBK about his career and his family, putting them down and says it will all be his own fault. HBK leans in Jericho’s face and says his family won’t be watching the match either but someday he will tell them about all this and tell them of the day that he was so close to walking away and goes on, basically saying he is going to destroy him at Unforgiven.

Jericho and Michaels lock eyes, face to face and stand up. HBK removes his jacket and they walk around the table. Lance Cade runs in but HBK knocks him down and they brawl. HBK falls out of the ring and indeed he does land very awkwardly. Jericho runs off as HBK kicks Cade in the head and looks on as RAW goes off the air.

Less than 24 hours after five determined warriors collide in the Quicken Loans Arena at Unforgiven, there’s an 80 percent chance that a new World Heavyweight Champion will greet the WWE Universe the following night on Raw.

With reigning champion CM Punk battling in the ring along with Batista, JBL, Kane and Rey Mysterio in an unusual Championship Scramble Match, there is absolutely no telling how proven alliances and bitter opponents may align with or against one another.

Will Punk continue his fabled run as champion? Or are the odds stacked too heavily against him?

The Matches:

I guess they are giving Charlie Haas the ‘imitation’ gimmick that Matt Striker did in the independent scene. Haas got in some offense, but did it really help Kofi to wrestle Haas when Haas is not considered to be a factor at this time despite his talent.

The ECW Battle Royale was a good way to showcase Tony Atlas’s ‘gravy train’ Mark Henry. Does that mean that Mark is losing the title on Sunday? Maybe they will have Matt win this one and Jeff can get the Smackdown title?

I was surprised that Jamie Noble got the win over William Regal. I hope this means that Noble will be getting a bit of a push. I wonder if this will reignite the feud he had with Chuck Palumbo and they can fight over Layla (to take the place of Michelle).

I guess the middle matches on the show had the X Division influence of a rollup/inside cradle finish. I think the only person who looked strong in the women’s match was Beth Phoenix. Mickie did not get a chance to do a lot other than fight her way out of the corner. I hope Candice has not regressed like she did when she came back from her last injury.

Santino Marella is not going to have five star matches and he needs to be the opportunist champion who takes advantage of his opponent’s mistakes like he did against D’Lo Brown.

The Raw Battle Royale was okay, but was not a main event other than the caliber of the people in the match. Batista looked strongest in the match but he was gone right away. I see Kane winning only to set up the return of Rey. Will Kane win the title on Sunday? If so, is the Rey/Kane feud going to be a ‘money making’ feud?

The Rest:

Randy Orton is not the person who I want to hear long promos from because of his delivery. Punk’s presence saved it a bit and the way that he defended himself was good. However, then the second leg in the bland promo relay came out and he was on world record pace until the anchor leg came out and Kane spoke very deliberately and made sure that he focused on every syllable in every word.

The best part of the opening segment was Batista. Instead of talking and repeating the same thing he has been saying for the last few months like the other challengers, he just speared everyone. They say actions speak louder than words and this time it did.

If Kane has been to hell, did he see Edge down there?

So Punk is a lesser champion than Orton because he was in a ‘no name’ company? I guess it is better to be a champion for one month, only to lose it and have the method named after you than be the face of a company for two years because of the promos that he did and his in ring work?

Did anyone want to see Punk kick Orton in the arm?

Can Dave and Buck bring legal action against the WWE for referring to a ‘no name’ company? I guess we will find out on Thursday.

I guess dressing like Superman does not mean that you can wrestle like him.

If Raw gets better ratings than the MDA Telethon, will Vince comment on how Raw did better than ‘that show with the sick children’?

Did Mike Adamle really say ‘scrabble’ instead of scramble? Why didn’t they edit that segment? It isn’t like the show is live this week.

Why were they signing a contract for an “Unsanctioned Match”? Doesn’t that mean that the WWE acknowledges the match?

I liked that they resumed the Layla/Jamie Noble angle. Six months ago, I probably never would have said that about an angle involving Layla.

At least the champions addressed Randy Orton’s comments. I wish Santino would have called him Rodney Orton or Randy Organ. Is this one of the first times that people have responded to the challenges of someone running down the titleholders?

Santino’s promo was great especially the comparisons to the HonkeyDonkey Man. The comparison was great. I am looking forward to November 2009 when he passes Honky Tonk Man for the longest reign.

Did Batista watch one too many Abyss promos because if I was not watching his interview segment with Todd Grisham, I would have thought Dave got a job selling ice cream with Chris Park.

Not to get political, but did anyone else think Mickie James should have been at last week’s convention based on the issues she discussed?

Does Candice Michelle look like the love child of Victoria and Ashley Massaro?

How happy must Mickie be that Candice is back to push her down the ladder?

I guess hell is close to St. Louis since Rey was able to get to St. Louis for the show.

If you were humiliated by someone, would you do the Mickey Mouse/Fantasia bit with the pyro and play up the crowd; or would you run to the ring to kick somebody’s butt?

The main event promo angle was very good. I did not want them to hot shot the match and it is a shame that Shawn Michaels got injured during this segment because both men have shown an intensity that transcends the match.

Is anyone afraid that we might be seeing an “ECW Title Match” length situation involving Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels at the pay per view.

Was anyone surprised that Shawn was able to see Lance Cade coming from behind while he was focusing on Chris Jericho?

LOOKING AT A "RANDY ORTON IS BACK SO TRY AND CONTAIN YOUR EXCITEMENT" EDITION OF RAW
by Dave Scherer @ 2008-09-02 13:38:06

There was more Randy Orton than you could shake a broken clavicle at on last night's Raw.  They were in his hometown of St. Louis so it made sense to have him appear on the broadcast, especially since he should be back in action within the next two months.  But for them to make him such an integral part of the show as they headed into Sunday's PPV it certainly came across to me as if they were acting as if he was back now and reestablishing him as a top guy.  It almost made me wonder if there was something to the speculation as to whether he really had the motorcycle accident.  After all, it wouldn't shock me a bit if this was WWE's way of trying to "work the smart fans".  I guess we will know in the next week or two.  In any case, him appearing last night, and in as many segments as he did, certainly made him at least as important on the show as the push for Sunday's PPV.  How good of an idea that is probably depends on how much you like Orton.

As for the rest of the show, there were a lot of good, short matches and one fantastic angle between Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels to end the evening.  Given some of the recent efforts, that makes it a solid evening for me.

The Angles:

  • As I mentioned above, Randy Orton returned to Raw in the opening segment.  Unfortunately, he hasn't gone out of his way to work on being charismatic while he was gone but I will freely admit that I am not the most impartial of reviewers where he is concerned.  To be fair, he delivers his promos just fine.  The problem is, they bore me.  With them having a guy with a gimpy arm come out and talk crap on the champ, it tells me that as soon as he's ready he will be back in a program on top.  Oh lucky us.  After Randy left, they pushed Sunday's PPV.  Batista was fun in letting his actions do the talking.  JBL and Kane, not so much.
  • On a related now, first it was John Cena making the tag champs look like the tag chumps.  It was bad enough that a healthy wrestler could make two men look bad but last night we got to see a guy with one arm slap one of them and not get his ass kicked ass kicked for doing so because the other guy held him back.  Uh, Ted DiBiase should have not only let his partner go, he should have joined him in doing a beatdown on Orton's shoulder.  Memo to WWE creative (in name only at least): When one man goes after another man and that man doesn't come back at him, well he looks like a wimp and a coward.  Great job guys.
  • Speaking of wimps and cowards, having Mike Adamle say that he and ECW could put together a Labor Day tradition like Jerry Lewis "without the sick kids" was one of the most offensive things that was ever blurted out of a pie hole on WWE TV.  Hey Vince, you are a true classless a hole for OKing that line.
  • I liked that the tag champs finally laid out Cryme Tyme.  I didn't like that it took magical words from Randy Orton, which were not answered directly on him, to have them do so.  It scares me that it looks like the long talked about second generation group is about to come to fruition, but to be fair it's only because Orton's promos bores me and I don't think he is ready to be the leader of a faction yet.
  • The show ended on a high note with yet another great installment in the Shawn Michaels-Chris Jericho angle.  Those guys knocked it out of the park again.  It was clear that Shawn hurt his triceps when he landed awkwardly on the floor.  Hopefully, it won't be that bad of an injury.

The Matches:

  • Aside from the bizarre " stealing someone else's gimmick" deal, Charlie Haas vs. Kofi Kingston was a good, short match.  It doesn't bode well for Charlie that all creative can think of to do with him is rip someone else off.  Rent, don't buy, Charlie.
  • The ECW Battle Royal was a good, fun match.   It was too short to be more that.  It was nice to see the ECW guys on Raw though.  They deserve the exposure.
  • Willie Regal and Jamie Noble had a good, short match.  I liked that Jamie got the roll up and thus won Layla.  Those two have been fun together and now the storyline gets to go into a new place.  It's also nice to see Layla back after a rough time.  I hope being back at work helps her through.
  • As usual, the Divas match had good energy.  Candice Michelle got to make a triumphant return, one for which she seemed to be legitimately emotional about.  The divas division has been very strong of late.
  • Santino Marella vs. D. Lo Brown continued the run of short matches.  It was fine for the time that they gave it, Well unless you were Brown and did the quick job to a comedy performer at least.  Then, it was probably not exactly what you were looking for.  The Honk-A-Meter was an instant classic.
  • The Raw Battle Royal was another good, short match.  I liked that they had Batista go out first, since it was a surprise and he didn't need to gain the victory.  It would have been nice for Punk to win but since Kane had the least amount of heat of the four, I was OK with the finish.  Plus, it led to the cool angle with Rey Mysterio returning, so it all worked.

What to watch if you DVR'd the show:

  • Definitely watch the closing angle.  It was good stuff.  If you like Orton, you can watch him too.  The matches were all short but solid so you can check them out as well.

Rhetorical and Unanswered Questions:

  • Did you notice the " US Open is on CNBC" trailer at the bottom of the Raw open?
  • Honestly, if you were THAT into the tournament, wouldn't you already know where it was airing?
  • Shouldn't WWE.com know that Randy Orton would be on Raw since the show was taped the prior day?
  • Did anyone else laugh when DirecTV cut to a company promo when Orton came out?
  • And, did they do so to give us something interesting to watch?
  • Why didn't Orton be honest and say that the state of Raw was no better when HE was the champion?
  • Does Orton feel like a dope, knowing he could be wrestling if he would have picked up a less dangerous hobby, like being a snake charmer or cleaning up toxic waste spills?
  • As lean as Orton looked, did you wonder if Vince would come out and say that his neck looked like a stack of dimes?
  • If Orton couldn't actually challenge Punk, shouldn't he have shut his mouth and not come out and bragged like he was something important?
  • Doesn't it suck for Punk to have a headache since he can't take an Advil?
  • How cool was it for Punk to point out what an imbecile Orton was to take up the new hobby of motorcycle riding while he was mending a broken bone?
  • Is JBL the right guy to be talking about fairy tales not coming true when he went from being an Acolyte to a champion?
  • Wasn't it cool that Batista chose to let his violence do the talking?
  • Shouldn't more people, especially those who are boring, do the same thing?
  • Isn't there something hot about Mickie James in Roller Derby gear?
  • Again, does Charlie Haas know that ripping off someone else gimmick is the last step before the infamous "creative has nothing for you" becomes reality?
  • Uh, why would DiBiase hold Rhodes back after Orton slapped him?
  • Did Kane really wonder why Adamle would lie after he made such a tasteless about sick kids?
  • Did creative book the ECW guys on Raw because they are better than anything that the company currently has on Monday nights?
  • Was Miz the only one who didn't see Chavo screwing him over?
  • When Lawler said he hadn't seen legs like Henry's since the Brontasaurus died out, was I the only one who believed that the King could have actually been alive that long to speak from first hand experience?
  • Given how imposing Regal's music is, shouldn't he be, well, more of a bad ass?
  • When Cole said that Willie has been on a role, shouldn't he have added, "When he is actually able to show up to work"?
  • Did you notice that right after calling Katie Lea her rival, Cole said that Mickie James' goal was to win back the Women's Title?
  • Shouldn't that make Beth Phoenix her rival?
  • How cool was the Honk-A-Meter?
  • And, isn't it an added plus that it probably tweaks Honky that they are doing it?
  • Wow, what does it say about the state of Raw when The Miz has to work twice?
  • Why would the tag champs give a rat's ass what Randy Orton thought?
  • How can you argue with Batista's "game plan"?
  • Why did Rey wait until after the match ended to return?
  • Oh yeah, because it made sense to not work a battle royal if he didn't have to, right?
  • Don't Adamle's words sound better when someone else, like Lawler, says them?
  • Isn't it amazing how most guys in WWE Superstar "security" look like indy wrestlers?
  • Did you notice how much gray was in the beards of both Michaels and Jericho?
  • Didn't it add to the realism when Shawn breathed heavily into the mic after he got worked up?
  • Man, wasn't the crowd LIVE?
