2 -- C.M. PUNK vs. KENNY DYKSTRA

Cole said Dykstra could move up the ladder with a win over Punk tonight, and begin to live up to his self-proclamation of being a future Hall of Famer. Cole called Punk "a bona fide superstar." Punk opened with some roundkicks. Dykstra responded with a knee and threw Punk to the floor. Punk kicked Dykstra as soon as he stepped onto the ring apron, then took the match back into the ring. Dykstra then began working over Punk's left arm. Punk sold it well and they kept it interesting with constant attempts to either escape or shift leverage. Punk came back and hit a running knee and a bulldog for a near fall at 4:00. After a brief comeback by Dykstra with a surprise dropkick, Punk hit the Go 2 Sleep for the clean win.

Spoilers - ECW On Sci Fi Taping Results
Written by: Andy Stevens - December 03rd, 2007

Thanks to Jon Hewett & PWInsider for the following:

Dark Match to start off the night: Chavo Guerrero versus Charles Evans. Come on... Chavo still doing dark matches? Man, that's harsh. Chavo was pretty good getting the heel heat versus Charles Evans who was billed as a local from Florence. Chavo worked over the left leg of Evans for a good bit of the match. Evans comes back with some standard power moves like a power slam and press slam. Finish comes down with Evans hitting an inside cradle on Chavo for the pinfall. Chavo acts shocked and plays it up.

Tazz and Joey Styles come down and it's time for ECW.

1st Match of ECW - Miz and Morrison versus The Major Brothers non-title. Miz and Morrison must still be getting out from under the JBL incident because they worked pretty hard. Some of the high spots included Miz getting a flip over senton from one of the Majors to the outside followed by Morrison getting another flip over senton by the other Major brother. Miz and Morrison also hit a two man flapjack slam on one of the Majors. Finish came down to the non-legal Major getting knocked off the apron and Morrison hits the Corkscrew Neckbreaker for the 3 count.

Video Package for Kofe Kingston. Boy, this was a lot like Carlito's videos when he was coming into the WWE. Not sure if he's going to be face or heel, but he puts a beach bully into the sand up to his neck and kicks sand in his face.

Interview with CM Punk. Punk talks about how either way, his match tonight versus either Big Daddy V or Mark Henry was a lose-lose situation so he was going to leave the decision up to either Armando Estrada or Matt Striker.

2nd Match of ECW - Kelly Kelly and Balls Mahoney versus Victoria and Kenny Dykstra in a mixed-tag match. Balls and Kenny start out the match and as soon as Balls gets some offense and goes for his punches, Kenny weasels out and tags Victoria. Victoria works over Kelly for a bit before Kelly gets the hot tag back to Balls. Balls gets his offense in, gets the punches on Kenny, things break down and Balls end up with the pin over Kenny via inside cradle.

Next out was Shelton Benjamin. He cuts a better promo than last week. Basically saying he was promised big things and didn't get them, but it's his time now and THERE AIN'T NO STOPPING ME NOW!

3rd Match - Shelton Benjamin versus Jimmy Wang Yang. Yang didn't get much offense in but Benjamin got most of his stuff in. Benjamin over Yang with the running DDT/Complete Shot.

4th Match - Kevin Thorne versus Jeff Lewis. Lewis was in the ring with no music or anything being an "enhancement talent." This was a squash to build Thorne some more but Thorne came out in plain red trunks. Thorne wins with his version of the Shock Treatment.

5th Match - Big Daddy V and Mark Henry come to the ring with Matt Striker. Striker says that since Punk left it up to him, he would flip a coin to decide Punk's fate. Heads for V, tails for Henry. It's tails. Punk will be facing Mark Henry. CM Punk comes out and they start the match with Punk trying to get a battle plan in for how big Mark Henry is. Kicks glance off of Henry and he laughs at Punk. Punk tries for a waist lock and can't get it so he jumps on Henry's back for a sleeper hold. The two wind up going over the ropes with Punk trying to hold onto the sleeper. Once they get back into the ring, Punk gets worked over by Henry. And just when Punk turns the tables back on Henry and is going for his finishing sequence of moves (running knee into bulldog, etc), Big Daddy V comes into the ring behind Punk and we have a DQ. Punk gets smashed by V and Henry until Kane comes down for the save with a chair. He lays out the heels with chair shots. They roll out of the ring and are by the ring close to the ramp. Armando Estrada then comes to the entranceway and says that we have a problem and we're going to solve it. So at Armageddon, it will be CM Punk and Kane versus Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. Kane then reaches for Striker and pulls him up and into the ring from the floor. He sends Striker into the turnbuckle and lets Punk hit his running knee and when Striker comes out of the corner, he runs into a chokeslam from Kane.

Champ's Choice: Expert Analysis

By Craig Tello and Zack Zeigler
Written: December 4, 2007

WWE Superstars that have warred with Big Daddy V and Mark Henry analyze the pair of behemoths. Which one will the ECW Champion choose to face on Thursday night?

On a special Thursday night edition of ECW on Sci Fi, CM Punk will engage in a “Champion’s Choice” encounter against a real-life monster of his choosing: Mark Henry or Big Daddy V.

As the Straightedge Champion prepares to make his (literally) huge choice, WWE.com assembled a pool of experts to aid in Punk’s decision-making process.

Batista
I’ve had some of the most strenuous wars of my career against Mark Henry – and I still have the scars to remind me of how dangerous he can be. His strength is indescribable. Pair that with his hostility and you have one of the most lethal competitors in WWE today.

Tommy Dreamer
Big Daddy V is very quick and has an amazing center of gravity. I have tried and it’s near impossible to get him off his feet. The very few times I’ve actually seen him down, I’ve seen him get back up instantly, like an offensive or defensive lineman – though he’s also about 200 pounds heavier than the average lineman.

One of Big Daddy V’s greatest feats is that he’s always moving forward and he’s almost impervious to any punishment.

Rey Mysterio
I can tell you from first-hand experience that facing Mark Henry is a guaranteed brutal experience, physically. He is the irresistible force and the immovable object. Stepping in the ring with a man that size, who is so powerful, is a threat to your career no matter who you are.

The Miz
Big Daddy V is 500 pounds; he’s tall and massive and still maneuvers well. I’ve been on the opposite side of the ring from that monster and I can tell you that there’s a good reason why WWE Superstars fear him.

Balls Mahoney
In ECW, I’ve seen a lot of dominant individuals come and go. Considering I’ve had wars with all of them – and have scars all over my body to prove it – I have to say that the immediate impact that Big Daddy V has had on ECW is unlike anyone else before.

Picture this mammoth “thing” – and I’m saying “thing” – coming at you with no regard for your safety, let alone its own. That’s intimidating. Looking at what he’s done to some of his opponents, that’s just scary.

Big Daddy V is one of the most unstoppable guys I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t think you can contain him.

Matt Striker
To compare Big Daddy V and Mark Henry would be negligent. Take a look at Big Daddy V; you’ve seen first-hand the destruction he’s capable of. As for Mark Henry, everyone seems to forget he’s the World’s Strongest Man.

Basically, if you look at it, one of them alone is completely unstoppable. If you had that choice to stand in front of a moving Mac truck or to hurl yourself from the top of a building, what would you pick? Personally, I hope CM Punk chooses … wisely.

Which beast will the Straightedge Superstar elect to battle this Thursday night? Tune in to this very special edition of ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT.

Subject: Belfast house show, dec 4th

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the results from the SmackDown/ECW house show in Belfast, Tuesday, 4th December. The Odyssey Arena is completely sold out, and there are more young children than were at the Raw house show a few weeks ago. There is a mass of Rey Mysterio signs and merchandise on show - boy, will they be disappointed!

Match 1 - Jesse & Festus defeated Drew McIntyre & Ken Doane - yes, you read that right. He was announced as Doane, not Dykstra. Maybe this is the start of a new tag team and they're looking for a clean break with a new start. Who know. Ok match, with Festus being the most over.

Match 2 - Chuck Palumbo defeated Jamie Noble. Palumbo was the heel here, despite the fact that his heelish antics on SmackDown from this week haven't aired anywhere yet. He got some cheap heat, but would get even more later on. Both were over to an extent.

Match 3 - Jimmy Wang Yang defeated Matt Striker. It's like an ROH reunion. Wang won with a top rope moonsault. Bog standard WWE Cruisers type match.

Match 4 - Michelle McCool defeated Victoria - special referee was Nattie Neidhart. Nattie got a decent pop, and is much more attractive live that in pictures I have seen. Either that or she had had some work done for heading on to TV. Or both. Anyways, as you'd expect from someone with her level of trauining, McCool was slightly off, though there was only one totally botched move, that being her headscissors attempt, but enough said about that the better.

Match 5 - Tommy Dreamer defeated Kevin Thorn. This the least over match of the night. I guess young kids aren't allowed to watch Vince's watered down version of ECW. Thorn is virtually unrecognisable from his days with Ariel. Again, it was ok, nothing great.

Match 6 - Finlay defeated Khali by DQ. Khali got a huge pop, if you pardon the pun. I guess it's because he was the first decent name to appear. Finlay was over like Austin in his prime, which was understandable given where the show was and also that he's actually climbed the card a bit since the last time they were here. Paulmbo ran in fir the DQ, setting up their match at the house show tonight. On a strange note, Khali got mic time at the start of the match, and Palumbo at the end, but there wasn't any for Finlay. In his home arena?

After the interval, we moved on to..

Match 7 - Kane defeating Big Daddy V. V was over, but it was mainly because people couldn't believe that someone in his shape wrestles with virtually no top on. Kane won with the chokeslam.

Match 8 - CM Punk defeated Miz & Morrison in a triple threat match for the ECW title. Punk was really over, the crowd lapped him up. this was a decent enough match, and I think that it will be markedly better than the Punk/Kane v Henry/V match at Armageddon.

Match 9 - Batista & Undertaker defeated MVP & Edge. There were two stories to this match. One was that Edge and MVP were superb in making it obvious that neither wanted to wrestle Undertaker any time he was in the ring, by sliding out, running away, avoiding tags, etc. It was really good. The second story relates to the end of the match, which I figure ended maybe 2 minutes early. Taker was trying to tag out to Batista, and was calling for MVP, who I assume was meant to stop the tag. He didn't, so Taker tagged out and sat visibly sursing on the apron. The match finished as planned, with Taker blocking Edge from getting back to the ring as Batista beat MVP with the Batista Bomb. As soon, and I mean as soon, as the bell rang, Taker undid his top and walked backstage. No acknowldedgement of the crowd, no smiles, no nothing. The crowd were stunned and Batista stood in the ring with a bemused look on his face. He stayed around for a while, coming up and down the siale a couple of times to shake hands and talk to fans. But it was a weird ending. Taker was really not happy.

That's your lot. Rey and Mark Henry were probably the biggest names not there, apart from Matt Hardy obviously. Almost every match had decent heat, at least, (with the exception of the first ECW match which disappointed me) but Khali, Finlay, Edge, Taker and Batista had huge pops/heat, with MVP not far behind, and CM Punk coming in a close third.

Champ's Choice: Fans speak

By Craig Tello
Written: December 6, 2007

On a WWE.com poll, our fans voted that CM Punk should select Mark Henry in his "Champion's Choice" battle. Will Punk follow suit?

You, our fans, have spoken. Right here on WWE.com, you voted for which mammoth you would like to see CM Punk select in tonight’s “Champion’s Choice” encounter: Big Daddy V or Mark Henry.

At a margin of 2:1, the World’s Strongest Man received the majority of all votes. But even though he was selected by 68 percent of fans, the final choice is still in the hands of the ECW Champion tonight on ECW on Sci Fi.

Should the Straightedge Superstar elect Henry this evening, it would be Punk’s very first encounter with the bellicose SmackDown behemoth. For an individual like CM Punk, who craves competition, Henry represents a new challenge. Could this – along with your ballots on WWE.com – be a major motivating factor in his decision?

In terms of motivation, it would be negligent to overlook Punk’s previous wars with Big Daddy V and what the Straightedge Superstar has to gain by facing the 500-pounder. The ECW Champion has never pinned the Extreme Mastodon in the ring; in fact, not a single ECW Superstar has. Does this present added incentive for CM Punk to choose The Dominating Force in WWE? Will the champion face the devil that he does know?

Tune in to ECW on Sci Fi tonight at 10/9 CT to see what fate CM Punk decides … and if he will survive either of the largest combatants in sports-entertainment today.

A few notes: if anyone on the crew or the wrestlers were shocked because of the airplane incident that is mentioned on your homepage they sure did a good job hiding it.

The card was basically the same as the 2nd Ireland Show. Mic-Time for Kevin Thorn, Chuck Palumbo and Edge. Michelle McCool had a nasty blue eye. Chuck Palumbo actually turned Heel during the Event. Probably because they had no Opponents left for Finlay. Hugh pops for Hornswoogle, the Festus Tag-in and the Main-Event Faces Kane, Taker and Batista. CM Punk and all the other ECW-Superstars for that matter suffered of their lack of TV-presence in Switzerland. Only Dreamer was well known from the entire ECW-Guys. Palumbo came to cheer Dreamer and then proceeded to beat him up, thus turning heel because he quote “was just a bully and everyone in Switzerland should be beaten up” He then called the guys out for a Open challenge and finlay was the one to answer it.

Drew McIntyres entrance theme seems to be the same as Rowdy Pipers one, They played Hornswoogles old theme btw.

They proceeded displaying the heels as inferior, Edge couldn’t even land a pin after giving Batista a headshot with the title belt. Palumbo forgot the Spot were he was supposed to get caned by the shillelagh so Finlay had to remined him “rico-like”. And Taker fucked the first chokeslam up which seemed to anger him somewhat, leading him to jump out of character and badmouth Khali even using the f*word against Khalis Mother.

Overall Attendance was an estimated 8000 people which is not bad, considering there are 11000 places in the “Hallenstadion” and Switzerland only gets the international Version (cut down to 45min) of Smackdown as the only WWE Source on free-tv.

Kind regards

Gelek Doksam

The monsters are due at Armageddon … and the ECW Champion is right in the middle of them. As first learned by WWE Mobile on AT&T subscribers, CM Punk teams with SmackDown’s Kane to combat Big Daddy V and Mark Henry at the final WWE pay-per-view event of the year.

When General Managers Armando Estrada and Vickie Guerrero struck a deal to allow Superstars from ECW and SmackDown to cross over and compete against one another, it opened a massive Pandora’s Box. For more than a month, the biggest beasts in sports-entertainment have clashed on ECW on Sci Fi, creating destruction not too unlike an F5 twister touching down in the Land of the Extreme.

The fighting champion, CM Punk, found himself mid-tussle with monsters V and Henry, but found an unexpected ally in the Big Red Machine, who has spent recent weeks in wars with the 500-pound Extreme Mastodon. Kane felt first-hand the combined impact of Matt Striker’s half-ton pairing when he was squashed by the behemoths at the conclusion of an Extreme Rules Match against Big Daddy V.

When the World’s Strongest Man and The Dominating Force in WWE attempted to do the same to Punk, the Big Red Monster came to the aid of the Straightedge Champion, causing Estrada to sign this incredible contest.

With retribution still fresh within his perverse mind, Kane comes to Armageddon to make the “end of days” a fiery one. Will he and the ECW Champion prove to be an unbeatable tandem? Or will the colossal connection between Big Daddy V and Henry be far too much for any man – or men – to overcome?
