Rain gear? You mean a hat? Just kidding -- I have no rain gear. I'll be there anyway. I'm watching the weather reports like a hawk, and now it's saying "thunder storms!" (But only 20% chance from 6 AM to 8 AM). I'm hoping to sneak through between rains.

Looks like it may rain tomorrow. Rain gear may be in order.
Count me in for Saturday. I also will have a few friends joining us.

Hope to see ya at Xterra Crystal Cove.

A big thanks to Lauren, Tom, Sheila, and Kelly for an enjoyable and
scenic trail run at the Aliso and Wood Canyons. Lauren guided us on the
perfect route and distance. What a view from the top!!! It was well
worth the hour drive and I look forward to more runs in the near future.

What: a 22-23 mile hilly trail run up Los Pinos & down San Juan.
When: this Saturday, 11/21, meet at the carpool place by 5am, expect to be
running for 6-7 hours.
Where: look at the "meeting places" map and click on "meetup for San Juan / Los
Pinos".
Email me for details if you want to come: dpgrieves@...
P.S. Just wanted to clarify that you can't actually summit Trabuco peak but you
do pass right underneath it on Main Divide Road between Horsetheif and Indian
Truck Trail.

If you go to the race website (course details page) you can click on the race

Google Earth version of the map soon.

Hi Paul,
Running out of water after 12 miles? Carry more water! For a run like that, I
would use my 3 liter Camelbak which is 100 ounces. If it was very warm, I might
also carry 2 handhelds at 20 ounces each.
The only water I know of on the Main Divide is at Bluejay Campground, so you
might plan to include it on your route. There are a few springs around, but I
have never heard of anyone drinking from them.

Play away my friends! This trail has been closed for 2 years and it one of the greatest places to run in Orange County.
I'm announcing here FIRST that I am planning on putting on a 30K race to the top of Harding and back down. Name and date TBD. This is pending permission from the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary and finding a date that works for the US Forest Service. This may happen as early as next summer if all the ducks line up. Stay tuned and go play on Harding!

Thanks Jessica. You can put me down as a volunteer for Twin Peaks -- Should I go to the official site and enter my name there?
Definately run the Great Silverado Footrace if you get the chance. It is a blast!

Chay said the Footrace is generally held on the last Saturday in February so that should be Feb 27th this year. She said there was one exception in the history of the race (that time it was in March I think). I'm hoping to do that race myself once I get back down there! Jessica

Chay said the Footrace is generally held on the last Saturday in February so
that should be Feb 27th this year. She said there was one exception in the
history of the race (that time it was in March I think). I'm hoping to do that
race myself once I get back down there!

Hey Lauren... I emailed Chay (RD for the Footrace) to see if she has a date yet. I'll let you know what I find out!

Hey all - I finally got a general discount code set up for Twin Peaks (the
registration system is new). Anyway, if you register for either distance
(http://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=5285) use code "octr2010tp"
I also still need LOTS of volunteers if you can help out before or during race
day. Thanks!!
Happy Running,
Jessica
It's a simple job, I can go into more details if you are interested. It will
earn you a free tech short sleeve tech shirt for Twin Peaks! If you can help
out, the main thing is to know the course people will be running for training.
I'm thinking Jan 2 and Jan 16 so will need help on one or both days.
Jan 2 will be about 13 miles (up and down Indian Truck Trail - no way to get
lost!). Jan 16th will be a clockwise loop on Holy Jim/Main Divide/Horsetheif
(about 14 miles) with an optional add-on spur to Santiago Peak and back (add 5
miles).
Thanks much!
Jessica
