Well, as I promised Joe and other fellows, I asked my friend Jaime about it. Jaime is the best Wood supplyer of Brazil, if anyone needs any kind of wood, any quantity (Legal Wood). (Roy, I know you wont care about me adverstising it just once).
But he is also a very good forger, altough he never says it to no one.
He learned with the best brazilian cuttlers, and can take profits of the knowledge of all ot them...well, I saw him in a forge and I know what he can do.
Well, but back for the matter - he told me our late friend Fabio Codignoli - an enormous lost, he died last year at only 49, and was the beacon on quenching/forging for all o us - did it sometimes, looks that you have to heath the salted water at 70 degrees Celsius to prevent the steel to became Too brittle, and , you have to Temper it twice (put in the owen at 250 Celsius untill pale yellow). Cause, as Jaime told me, Salt water is more "Shocking"for steel than oil...
Well, just what I promised Joe and other folks to search.
For sure most of you know much more than me, but I'm Always searching for new knoledge.
Once more, excuses for my poor English.
Regards
