KNIFE THROWER FIRST VARIETY ARTIST TO RECEIVE MAGIC'S HIGHEST HONOR, THE
COVETED MERLIN AWARD

The Great Throwdini (David Adamovich, Ed.D.), The World's Fastest and Most Accurate
Knife Thrower, has been selected to receive The International Magicians Society (IMS) most
prestigious award, the Merlin. Recognizing professional excellence, the Merlin is to magic
what the Oscar is to the movies. Previous recipients include David Copperfied, Harry
Blackstone, Penn & Teller, Simon Lovell, Doug Henning, Siegfried & Roy, and Criss Angel.

According to Tony Hassini, IMS World President, "Criteria include outstanding talent,
showmanship, originality, and skills. Throwdini's knife throwing act, Maximum Risk – The
Impalement Arts with a Touch of Magic and Comedy! has entertained audiences at Monday
Night Magic, New York's Longest Running Off-Broadway Magic Show, for over 7 years. His
unique finale of a thrown-knife card-stab, brilliant performance skills, and exceptional
talent have made the Board's decision an easy one. The International Magicians Society is
proud to induct The Great Throwdini as a member to its distinguished Hall of Fame."

Presenting Throwdini's Merlin for 'Excellence in the Impalement Arts' will be Mr. Hassini.
Venues under consideration are Monday Night Magic and The Coney Island Gala, April
2009. In its 40-year history, less than 100 Merlin's have been awarded to only the most
notable and prestigious entertainers of magic. The Guinness Book of World Records
recognizes the IMS as the world's largest magical society with over 37,000 members.

A former world champion turned professional knife thrower, Throwdini holds 21 world
records for the speed and accuracy of his knife throwing. His world records appear in
Guinness World Records and Record Holders Republic Believe The Unvelievable! He holds
One of The Top 100 Guinness World Records of All Time and is the first and only person to
perform The Triple Crown: the bullet, arrow, and knife catch — a feat so great that Ripley's
Believe It or Not! has featured it their world-wide syndicated cartoon series.
