I recently moved from the east coast (boston area) to the west (east
bay, northern california). At my last job I could walk across the
parking lot into the woods and throw half spins into an ideal
semi-rotten stump; now I live in an area with few trees and don't have
anything resembling a backyard. I don't feel comfortable throwing knives
in my tiny garage - I've had plenty of knives bounce back in the wild
(and even one nasty injury many years ago). I see no reason to leave the
mailing list, though, because you guys are highly amusing in your banter.

I wonder if there are any folks from the east bay on this list?
It's hard to get motivated to drive 20+ minutes one way just to get to
some trees and privacy (my ex next-door-neighbor murdered his land lord;
I'm going to try not to start scaring people with my hobbies! :)
