I have a Colt series 80 blued Gold Cup with original brown box and papers. The gun is stock except for a couple mods. I put base pads on the two mags, and also changed out followers and springs to extend them to 8 rounds. I put Millett red front/white outline adjustable rear sights on, but still have the original Elliason rear sight. I have Hogue black rubber finger grips on it currently, but still have the original wood grips. I have talked to the local gun shops and they only offer $600 trade in. I've seen them on line in the $800 to $1000 range.
These days it's damn near impossible for a gun owner to do a private sale of a handgun. None of the papers will touch them. I could sell it through a dealer and pay commission.
Anyone out there had any experience with selling guns on line? On the surface, it would seem to reach a much larger audience and
possibly get a better price?
thanks!
Larry
