83 Euro SC. The 66 car is for sale. The car started life as an 84 Carrera but
has been fully and legally converted to run as a 1983 Euro SC. The car is very
fast and has been consistently at the front with many podiums and class wins in
the heavily populated and tough PCA E class. For what it's worth the car
finished 3rd in E class nationally in 2008 and is currently 5th of over 140 in
the unofficial Rennpoints system for 2009. It is fully developed with the
correct stuff to run up front. The engine was rebuilt in 2008. The
transmission was rebuilt in 2009. Both are in excellent condition. Fresh rear
trailing arms in 2009. Full within the rules monoball, Smart Racing, Elephant,
Sander Engineering suspension. Porsche factory transmission cooler. Buckley -
Henderson - Products stainless headers with megaphones. Guard limited slip.
Getty Design front and rear bumpers. 2 sets of 17 inch CCW 3 piece wheels.
Ready to race with the best of everything. $41,900 Or Best Offer. It would
cost you much more to duplicate even buying a cheaper race car initially and
this one is a proven winner. Bumpers will be repainted prior to sale. Call me
to work out the details to make the car fit you. Bryan Henderson

I am with John's call on this, smells like fishy pub. And it seems to be working.

There was a short piece in the Houston Chronicle on Saturday that said the guy's business is restoring high end cars which made me wonder if this might have been a publicity stunt (albeit a very expensive one).

Letting it idle in the water? Good gawd, implying he was hoping it would suck in water and ruin the engine too. Ya gotta wonder if it was all an accident...
All:
I worked with Daniel at CVAR last weekend and he is an outstanding
example of a recent A&M engineering graduate (and an excellent corner
worker also..;-).

I agree with Dan, this one smells pretty fishy-- kinda like an insurance scam.

Try truck (well, mini-pickup) collision with a boat, then driving off.
Back in early '90's (I think, before SCCA dumped pro rally whenever
that was), one of the Rallye de Paris events on Camp Maxy TANG base,
Mike Halley (driver) spun at an intersection (dirt *is* the racing
surface), slid backwards across a wet grass area into a sizable pontoon
boat (well, the decrepit remnants of one anyway), grabbed 1st gear and
continued, somewhere between 500 and 1000 feet from water (not sure cuz
we didn't go look at the lake that day but it was a dry season). Is
the only stage rally car-boat impact I know of that didn't require
wet-extraction or divers, there are probably others...
Next Rallye de Paris - Nov 28, HQ in Paris (Tx), stages around Roxton,
can use workers as intersection marshals (closed public roads in Lamar
County, read the warnings on TV commercials), control workers, HAMS for
communication, others. Lemme know if you're interested, I've always got
openings - http://www.rallyengr.com/

It is a well-known "track fact" that whenever a racing vehicle begins
to leak fluids, its operator magically and instantly acquires the
ability to drive a perfect line, even though said operator may have
never been guilty of that behavior before.
This of course, is to maximize the time and effort required by the
corner workers to clean up said fluid spills.
Nobody needs computational dynamics for this one, except Craig, to
keep his job of course?

All:
My friend and neighbor, Greg Dallen, worked corners last weekend at
TWS and had a ball.
When Control was wondering about flashers on the Sunbeam Tiger Sunday
morning, Greg knew right away that they did come from the factory with
4-way flashers, since he is rebuilding his own Sunbeam Tiger.
Lately he has had lots of time to work on that (longtime ongoing)
project, since he got laid off from his machinist job several months
ago.
If you know or hear of anything that would be a win-win for him and
his next employer, please contact Greg directly at the phone number in
the attached one-page resume.
Or email him at
tgrharly@...
Thanks!
George
p.s. Greg was working at 7 Saturday when the Black 996 had its
dramatic moment(s) there..;-)

From Judy Green, on the CVAR list:
John, David, and Herb,
Just to let you know Bob is in the hospital again and will be having an
aortic valve replacement and a double bypass on Wednesday. We took
him to
the emergency room last Saturday and he was admitted at that time.
While he
is not up to visitation or telephone calls I know he would appreciate
CVAR's
thoughts and concerns and/or cards. He is in Plaza Medical Center of
Fort
Worth or if cards are sent to our house I will take them to him. I am
assuming he will be back home next week some time but of course it
depends
on how well he does. If you wish to put this information on the
bulletin
board feel free to do so.
Thank you,
Judy Green
