I've been chatting on Real Jocks, a web site for (mostly Gay 'jocks') who, for the most part are really sports oriented. I'll be adding the Team Plus web site & info to my Real Jocks profile.
My name is David and I will also be in Montreal for the Outgames. I'm not an athelete, but I am a member of a San Francisco-based singing group, Colla Voce, competing in the choral competition. I agree that it would be great to connect with other POZ guys while we are there. I'm also leaving on Friday, July 28, so e-mail me if you are interested in getting together.
My name is Lee and I'm going. I'm a member of the SF Bay Blades rowing team. I'll have my computer with me in Montreal, also you can e-mail before I depart on the 28th.

I am trying to make the games with my hockey team, but my finances probably will not permit me to. This is a dream for me to participate in a sport that I fell in love with.8 months ago I could not ice skate and basically taught myself to skate after a failed relationship. It represents everything to me at this point.hockey is my SEX.Being the only black player on the team is even more reason for me to be excited. Being positive and healthy enough to play is beyond words. I only need about $500.00 us to attend. If you can contribute please contact me @ syar118@... not a scam.PLEASE HELP MAKE MY DREAM COM TRUE. Team Plus is going to exist for as long as we can keep it going. We have to!
To do this, once the official non profit status from the US Government is finalized, we’ll NEED to incorporate and select a board of directors.
But that’s the mean details; the fun ones are planning on being in Montreal to support those of us already registered. In 2007, the Euro Games will happen http://2007.eurogames.info/index.htm July 12-15 in Antwerp, Belgium
The first 3000 people attending the closing ceremony at Wrigley Field will recieve a commemorative Gay Games collector pin compliments of the Illinois Lottery.
Participant Assembly: 1:00 pm
Participants need to assemble along the Waveland (North) and Sheffield (East) sides of Wrigley, which will be blocked for this purpose. Exit the Addison Red Line station, proceed west to Sheffield (the first street west of the train station). Assembly time is 1:00 PM. There is not a formal line up as teams that needs to be done, everyone will just come into the stadium as one large family, arrange to meet your group if you want to march in together.
All badged Gay Games participants should plan to arrive at Wrigley Field with plenty of time to assemble outside the stadium in advance of the 3 pm processional. We recommend that you schedule your arrival no later than 1:30 pm. Waveland (north of Wrigley Field) and Sheffield (east of Wrigley Field) will be closed to traffic. The participant processional is intentionally mixed - participants will enter the stadium mixed to represent unity. You may wear backpacks. Please note that no poles or sticks
may be carried into the Closing Ceremony so any small banners must be hand carried. Entry will be from the north and east side of the stadium from the staging areas. Participants will cross the field in designated areas and take their seats in the stadium. At the conclusion of the ceremony participants will exit normally with the rest of the spectators.
You'll be a part of the country you represnt going in.
Let's have Team Plus sit togther in the staduim.
Head toward the 3rd base line and we'll try to get into
Made reservations for the cruise...pray for dry weather ....looks like it might be ok.
Wish I could be there for PULSE....ice show awaits.
TONS of Physique athletes coming to the cruise now...should be a major party!
Nabbed the silver in my competition Physique (age 50-59)...felt great
now after having devoted FOUR MONTHS of my life to this, I am ready to PARTY DOWN!
After the show, a gal reporter (a cutie...looked like a CUTE Hillary C)) interviewed me about competing and living with HIV and may be in DVD they are compiling about it to be released sometime this year! Steve Perkins was sitting there and I pulled him in and he too was included in this!
I mentioned your web site, RJ, and also found yet another athlete competing with HIV during this event. That makes I believe SIX of us! This will grow as word of this spreads.
Ann Sathers for breakfast...will INJECT their cinnamon buns intravenously into my arms!!
If you guys don't know about this place...YOU MUST visit this before you return to your home state.
Gay owned and operated...the best down-home food you've ever tasted...Belmont...right near the El train brown or red line.
2 minute walk from there. Worth the trip by all means.
5 of us went out for deep dish pizza and acted like drug addicts needing a fix! GIVE US PIZZA!!!! wow...
Steve Perkins also got the silver...has a hearing problem, so when he got his medal he didn't even know it was a SILVER till I TOLD him after the event!!
So cute...59 Steve....you go. He was in my weight and age category but got a SEPARATE medal for being on steroids.
Ripped a tendon yesterday during the final pose-off....I felt it go 'twang' like a rubber band breaking....thank god it happened AFTER the mandatory poses and my routine, so the evening was just about a presentation for friends. With the help of my dear friend David Scamardo (did PHANTOM together) we re-worked it for that event and came up with ( I felt anyway) a maybe even BETTER version....just without the extension that really sets me apart from the rest of the guys....to have a standing split at age 50!
It gave me some GREAT ideas about the future with all this, gang. I saw that there is a real need for their routines to be actually choreographed much like a dance number. Several judges came up to me after and said they was impressed by how unique it was and how I successsfully combined dance with bodybuilding poses. They said they wished more competitors did that, as most of them put on the music and just WALKED to the next pose, hitting them on the beats, and nothing else....yawn. I know from having judged scores of dance competitions that it is the unique ones that catch my eye.
So when I return next week I will submit a proposal to the owner of GOLDS GYM about all this, and hit up all the new competitor friends there I have now made and who are very interested in not only getting into modeling and show business (both of which I can help them with), but in using my choreographic talents to create that same "edge" for them! This could be VERY lucrative for me, and is a no-brainer to do! And what fun huh?
stay in touch friends....Black Tie Ball on Friday....had my mom ship in an outfit I wore for the opening night of PHANTOM that is sitting in my closet ready to wear! But that jacket will come off when it's TIME TO DANCE!!
this thing is taking off rapidly....don't let thsi slide...stay connected folks. let's help each other.
DOUG GRAHAM.
RJ....can you compile a list of Emails and info of those who are currently aboard this site? That way we can send personal messages to each other without having to go through this forum....

This official "after hours" event of the Gay Games brings athletes and supporters
together to celebrate on the last day of the officially scheduled events aboard the "Spirit of Chicago" departing from Navy Pier. The evening begins with a pre-party at "Riva" on Navy Pier at 11 p.m. before boarding the ship at midnight. Once onboard, enjoy 4 levels of sounds, lights and music with Producer and DJ CHRIS COX celebrating his 41st #1 Billboard Hit. Sound Investment will be installing "Club Quality" sound and lights, and we will be serving an hors d'oeuvres buffet throughout the evening. The party goes till 3:30 a.m.!
Wouldn't it be neat to have our own recognition event? Pulse would have been great but since a few of us are still competing Friday, lets find a venue Friday evening or before Closing Ceremonies.

Forgot about the cruise!! I'm so THERE PJ...do I need tkts in advance?
This is my big day...saw that article about me and a couple others in the Tribune...got a pic in....no mention of either Team Plus, or my parents who basically saved my life, both of which I requested she mention....what can ya do. Nice article...short and sweet...more media attention which is what we all need.
Photographer from Test Positive Aware coming tonight to see my victory! God am I cocky or what? I have just been ingraining and intoning GOLD into my psyche now for 3 solid months, and whether I win or not, it's IN THERE! If anything, I will dance my joy up there this afternoon and tonight, and that will be enough for me! And so, I guess, that in itself IS the real victory, no?
Best to you on your grueling event today..sending you much light my friend
Can't wait for the cruise...event over...time to party big ass time!!
DOUG

Subject: [TeamPlus] new members, new look
Wow, in only a few days, Team Plus not only picked up medals and new members, but it's take on a new look.

I am heading to Montreal with the SF Bay Blades rowing team.
Enjoy the Games.

Hey everyone,
I found out two years ago this month that I was HIV-Positive, and like many others, thought my life was over.
Since then, I have had a number of great people rally around me in support, and I can see all the positives (and the Positives!) in my life.
For the past two years, I have also been working to help raise money so that others may attend this event. The teamwork paid off, and the Opening Ceremonies was PACKED! I was so happy to see people from every state and over 30 foreign countries!
Today, I participated in Power Lifting, and completed all of required lifts. My goal was to successfully participate in the competition, following the rules and regulations. Much to my surprise, I qualified for a gold medal!
I really enjoyed working with my friends from San Francisco today, and I am happy that I found a sport which suits me. I encourage everyone to find a sport or activity which works best for their health & sero-status. Many of the more popular sports are great, but make it harder to earn medals, because there are SO many participants.
Ultimately, the Gay Games is about Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best. I hope each of you have a great week in Chicago, and that you were able to realize a personal best in some way this week as well!
Warmest regards (literally, at 100 degrees today, and figuratively).
