Come out to the Oceanside Pier to see the amazing riders of Race Across America (RAAM) start their journey across the country:

·         Tuesday, June 16 noon – solo women and men over 60

·         Wednesday, June 17 noon – solo men

·         Saturday, June 20 2:00pm – teams

They start in Oceanside and have their sights set on Annapolis, MD, 3000+ miles away.  Their first checkpoint is at Lake Henshaw, from there they head over to Ranchita, down Montazuma grade through Borrego Springs, down 78, to checkpoint 2 in Brawley.

No solo woman has finished in the last 2 years.  This year there are 4 women starting.  I’ll be crewing for Janet Christansen on her 2^nd attempt.  You can follow our progress on http://www.teamosprey2009.blogspot.com/.

Come cheer us off on Tuesday!  You could also ride the first 13 or so miles with the riders on their parade route, along the San Luis Rey bike path.
