The San Diego LUNA Chix Triathlon Team is excited to announce open spots on the
2010 team roster. You are receiving this email because you have participated in
past Chix events (ride, clinics, etc.) or have shown interest in joining the
team in the past. Each year, a few of our teammates choose to focus their
priorities on other things and we have spots that will open up on the team.
What are we looking for?
First off, women who share our commitment of encouraging women and girls to
participate in the world of cycling and triathlon! It doesn't matter if you are
an experienced racer or a recent cycling enthusiast who still has a lot to
learn, we share a common purpose of supporting other women by building a local
cycling and triathlon community through clinics and rides. We are looking for a
range of knowledge and experience, as well as enthusiasm and commitment to
getting women of all skill/fitness levels involved in different types of cycling
and triathlon.
In addition, we look for:
• Reliability & commitment to team responsibilities
• Event organizing skills & follow through
• Self-starters who take initiative and know when to ask for help
• Genuine love for the outdoors
• Commitment to safety and responsible trail use along with some knowledge of
the San Diego area/places to ride
• Role model who encourages others
• Communication skills and approachability
• Desire for new friendships
• Team players and a true spirit of collaboration
• Support for LUNA products
• Commitment to having FUN!
What do we do?
In addition to enjoying new friendships that begin with a common love for
cycling and triathlon, we have a number of responsibilities to the team and to
LUNA Bar. It is our charge, as a team and as individuals to meet these annual
commitments:
o LUNAfest film festival (assist in coordinating event and raising $)
o Attendance at annual LUNA Summit in San Francisco where all LUNA Chix from the
27 teams get together for skills clinics and FUN!
o Monthly team meetings to plan for '10 season
o 2 group rides per month
o Monthly events (might include a booth at a festival)
o Written reports of each event submitted to LUNAbar monthly
o Weekly postings on team website
o 2 skills clinics, on/over a weekend
o Fundraiser(s) for the Breast Cancer Fund (www.bcf.org)
o Optional races (we are NOT a competitive team, however, we do support team
members who wish to try racing or improve their skills in this area)
*We agree to events/dates at the beginning of the season to confirm commitment
by all team members
What else should you know?
We serve as ambassadors to the LUNA brand. As spokeswomen, that comes along
with some nice benefits!

How do you apply?
Applications for the team will be going out later in the season; however, we
highly encourage and recommend that you come out to our rides and clinics to get
to know the team and show off your leadership skills!
Feel free to share this information with other women who are passionate about
cycling! We look forward to seeing you again this year, whether or not you
choose to apply to be on the team. We are always happy to share our knowledge
and LUNA products with those who join us in the spirit of building a cycling and
triathlon community amongst women in the San Diego area.
