Hey ladies!
This Sunday at 8 a.m., The Running Center inis opening it's doors early just for Carlsbad
us! Brian (runner, triathlete and all around swell guy) will be giving us a running basics/
shoe fit clinic. This is a fantastic store that has done a lot to support women's running
locally and the clinic promises to be informative and fun. There will be raffle prizes and
give aways, and after the clinic, we'll receive 15% off purchases of shoes and apparel!
What a deal! If you feel inspired to go for a run, thewill also provide you Running Center
with local routes of 2 to 10 miles.
Please feel free to invite your friends (male and female) to this clinic. The more the
merrier! There is no charge, but so we know how many to expect, please RSVP by Friday to
whitney.despain@cox.net
After the clinic, we will head out for our weekly ride. We're going to do some HILLS! We
will go south on El Camino Real, up over College, looping through Palomar and Cannon
before doing it all again! The total ride is only about 20-21 miles, but most of it is hills.
For thi! s ride y ou MUST have a ROAD BIKE. This is a MODERATE to DIFFICULT ride. We plan
to roll of The Running Center parking lot at 9 a.m.
Theis off the 78, near El Camino Real Mall. To get there, exit the 78 at El Running Center
Camino Real going south. Turn left on Marron road. Turn left into the shopping center
parking lot. Theis on the south side of Vons. If you are planning on Running Center
staying for the ride, please park behind Vons so we don't use up all of the premium
parking!
Our weekly brick workouts continue this week at 6:00 with a 10 mile ride followed by a 2
mile run. If you prefer to walk, run or do a combination of the two, show up at 6:30 for a
45-50 minute trip down the coast. We leave from the east end ofMoonlight Beach
parking lot in Encinitas.
To get to, take the 5 to Encinitas Blvd. Exit, heading west. Cross the Moonlight Beach
101, turn left onand go up a very steep hill. Turn right on 3rd St. and park in the C Street
east end of the lot.
Have a great week!
