Thanks to all who attended yesterday's Cycing Skills Clinic with Cycle
U. It sounds like things went well, but please pass on any feedback
you have.

I've put some pictures on the site, so go to "Photos" and "Cycling
Clinic". Please let me know if I've screwed something up and you
can't view them!!!

I also wanted to put in a request that for future clinics, please let
me know at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend. This time
we had several people not show up, and we had a waiting list, so those
who wanted to attend but were told no could actually have been there.
Thanks for your help on this.

Have a great week!

Hi All,

We're looking forward to returning to Kirkland next week for a hill
workout on our bikes. We will be meeting at one of our sponsors,
Everyday Athlete (www.everydayathlete.us), across the street from
Juanita Beach.

We just got word from Everyday Athlete that we'll be joined by a
massage therapist, Janelle, that evening who will provide some
insights on the benefits of massage to hard-working athletes like
ourselves. But before that, Janelle is willing to come in early and
offer several free mini-massages for interested folks... you know,
those nice relaxing 10 minute sessions that always leave you wanting
more!

She can be at Everyday Athlete an hour before our workout (5:30pm),
so if you are interested in a mini-massage, please send me an e-mail
(ospaic@...) with

(1)your name
(2)your e-mail address
(2)the earliest time that you can be there (starting at 5:30pm)

It's first-come, first-served - only 6 slots. I will send out a
confirmation e-mail to those who are "in"...

If you have questions about the workout next week, let me know of
course... reminders will go out later this week!

Thanks,

Olga

We will be doing a bike ride around Mercer Island focusing on
speed. If needed, we can break up into groups to accomodate
various skill levels. The ride around the island will take
approximately 45-60 minutes. If that is not enough miles for
some of you, we can go around a second time.
We'll meet at the Park and Ride located just north of the
I-90 freeway at 80th Ave S.E. and N. Mercer Way on the island.
Please be prepared with adequate fuel. As always, we'll have
LUNA bars to pass out for all that attend.

Hope to see you there....6:30 p.m. July 5th!

We cater to all ability levels from the experienced to
the first time triathlete. Workout plans may vary
based on abilities/levels in attendance.

The workouts are free, however we are always accepting donations
for the Breast Cancer Fund. Please visit their website at
www.BreastCancerFund.org for more information.

Hi Ladies!

I wanted to encourage you all to come and join us in racing at the
Seafair Triathlon on 7/17. This will be the first race that the
majority of us will be racing as a team, and we would love to have you
out there with us!

I am also putting together a relay team for this race. I've been
feeling sorry for myself because I had knee surgery last month and
can't participate in any of these triathlons. Then I had the
brainstorm of putting together a relay team for this race! I will be
doing the swim, so if anyone wants to volunteer to do the bike or the
run (or both!), let me know! This would be a great opportunity for
someone who has not done their first tri yet. Let me know if you're
interested!

Info on the race can be found at www.seafair.com.

Also, we will be sponsoring 1-2 races this summer and will have a tent
set up and be passing out LUNA bars. We'll keep you posted on those
so you can come by and say hi!

See you soon!

Hi Ladies,

There has been a slight change to our workout plans for next Tuesday.
We were not able to secure a pool, so we've changed the workout to be
an open water swim. We are meeting at the beach at Madison Park at 6:
30.

This is a great location to swim because the shallow area is long
enough to do laps, but you can still touch the ground, so it's perfect
for beginners unsure of their abilities. And the more advanced
swimmers can go out into the deep end and swim there.

Please understand that this is not a clinic, so we will not be
teaching you how to swim in the open water. It's more of an endurance
workout, because we'll be swimming with you! But, Amy and Teresa will
be there to give pointers, answer questions, technique advice, etc.
We are here to help you!

We would love for you to join us, and it's open to all ability levels.
It's a great chance to get in the water and practice. Please bring
goggles, swim cap, race suit, towel, wetsuit (if desired), and water
to drink.

Let me know if you have any questions!

LaVonne

The workouts are free, however we are always collecting donations for
the Breast Cancer Fund. Please visit their web site at www.

This group is set up that you cannot post e-mails. If you have any
questions about the workout, please e-mail the person who sent out the

I'm sorry to say that this clinic on 6/28 is full. We
have a certain number of wetsuits available, and I
want to make sure everyone has a chance to try them
out. Plus, we need to keep a low ratio of open water
swimmers to leaders.

But, if you want to get some swimming practice, next
Tuesdays's workout will be an open water swim,
focusing on endurance and some technique work. It
won't be a clinic, so the instruction will be minimal,
as we'll be swimming too! It will be an actual
workout, of course with the opportunity to ask
questions. Anyway, more information will follow
regarding this workout, but I wanted to let you know
there was another opportunity to swim.

But, regarding the clinic, if there's enough demand we
may be able to squeeze out another open water swim
clinic, so let me know and I'll put you on a waiting
list.

Thanks so much! We would love to have you all come
out and train with us!

Hi Gals,

Just want to share a few updates regarding Tuesday's long bike ride.
We will have a shorter route with a ride leader available for newer
triathletes or those who don't want to complete the longer distance.
Also, you won't want to miss this workout because Lance from Everyday
Athlete (an awesome multisport store in Kirkland) will be joining us
for a pre-workout talk on pre-ride bike safety. He will cover the
basic checklist of things you should check on your bike before every
ride. He'll have his bike pump available to check everyone's tire
pressure and show you how to do it yourself. AND he'll be handing
out coupons and goodies from the store. Can you say "freebies"! :-) So
even if you're not up for a 1+ ride, come join us anyway. Remember to
bring run gear if it looks like rain.

Hello Ladies,

In case you are wondering what the Team LUNA Chix workout schedule
will look like over the next few months, please take a look at the
database we've set up here...

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/TeamLUNAChix/database

It'll give you info on the workout, who the workout leader is, what
to bring, directions to the starting point, and contact number. We
will update this with more information over the next few weeks, so
definitely stay tuned.

The calendar is also set up to send you a reminder about the weekly
workout 4 days before and another 12 hours before the workout
start. You should not be getting too many e-mails from the site
just the workout reminders, but if you feel like it's too many, you
can change your profile settings to limit the number of messages you
receive.

See you all tomorrow for our first run at Marymoor Park in Redmond -
we're meeting by the climbing wall. Karra will be leading us...

Thanks,

Olga

Hi Ladies!

We are ready to hold our first weekly workout on Tuesday, June 7 at
6:30 p.m. We'll meet at Marymoor Park in Redmond, near the climbing
rock (it's a big park, afterall).

Our plan is to work on endurance. It won't be a hilly run. All
ability levels are welcome.

Please bring some water or a sports drink.

Looking forward to meeting you all!
Karra
