Re: Suggestions for tri gear for half-IM

In case you are not quite sure where to find the local and online tri
stores, we have a few links posted on our website:

http://www.seattletrilunachix.com/resources.asp

For those of you who are just starting out, it's probably best to
just get the basics now and then wait for the end-of-season sales
(which can be especially good online) to get the extras.

I would also add a couple of others to the list which aren't on our
website:

* Sports Basement - http://www.sportsbasement.com/ (you get an
additional discount on this site if you have a USAT membership, USAT
= USA Triathlon association)

* All 3 Sports - http://www.all3sports.com

And I'm sure LaVonne will let us know when she posts "slightly used"
workout clothing items for our eBay sales that benefit the Breast
Cancer Fund... remember to bring any stuff you'd like to donate to
any of our upcoming workouts.

Happy shopping!

This will be my first.  I am wondering if I train and do the event in
my bike shorts/bra, or if I get some other kind of gear?!  Do you
have suggestions on where to purchase that stuff?!

Christa, Tri Shorts (not bike shorts) and a sport bra/top are what I wear. The key thing ( I believe) is to make sure you put on enough sunscreen, esp if you...

I agree with the jersey - or I wear a tri-top. It protects a little more skin than the sports bra, especially the low back and belly. Hard to reach places with...
